Jerry, the Inn on the Biltmore Estate is pretty nice and they were biker-friendly enough to put up with about 3000 of us at the BMW RA Rally on the Estate on June. Lots of good eats in Biltmore Village. Breakfast at the Corner Kitchen is great. I recommend the Waffle with seasonal fruit. |

Mike, thanks for the suggestion! staying at the Biltmore sounds great, but we'll be getting in relatively late, and leaving relatively early the next morning, and it seems a shame to spend so little time at such a marvelous place on our first visit. the Biltmore looks and sounds like a place to be savored slowly, perhaps over several days and over several bottles of their wine, and i hope we get a chance to do so someday. any other suggestions? I went riding over by deal's gap last week with a old friend from Indiana. He's riding a new Road Glide.
I road 2,000 miles in 5 days and we went through Tenn.,NC,SC,GA. This was our second time and it was even more fun than the first. ( Of course it was 29 degree's the first time. ) |

That is an accurate statement. the tour of the house takes most of a day, ( get the head sets ) sadly you can't take pix in side the house ( the grounds its ok ) the coffee table book is well worth the asking price Ive got it some where... that may be a christmas trip (cage) for the two of you Stay well .. |

Thx Oldog, Flynuly. The throttlemeister worked great for me. I purchased the Heavy ones to help with the mirrors shaking. It helps but does not eliminate the shaking. The cruise control has limitations also....there is a fine line of having it adjusted to tight and too loose. Because with it off you do not want it to slow the return of the throttle back to it's stop. After I got it set as tight as possible it would hold with out any help except for certain speeds when the vibration would slowly let the throttle return. But if you have your hand on the throttle lightly it worked great. Fit and finish is of high quality. |

1313 - Very good.... I have to explain it to most people. It's backwards because forward " is inappropriate" according to the DMV! |

Jerry, Try The Red Rocker Inn in Black Mountain, or the Monte Vista Hotel also in Black Mountain, plenty of good food (Cellar Door) and local beer (Town Pump) within walking distance. |

I'll be heading up to TWO early Wednesday to camp out for a couple of nights before going to the cabin. Might as well make the most of it, plus some added riding time. I have extra camping gear if anyone wants to come up early. See y'all there! |

I'm flattered you're asking my opinion. I've never done a 1000 mile day. It's on my list of goals. Congrats! |

What are y'all doing next weekend? Want to meet up for some riding? A few of us are meeting at TWO on Friday, there are a few that can only make it up for Saturday. Me and MrsG will be there all weekend, if some of y'all wanna drop by.

Hey Glitch - Sounds like fun. I know it's last minute but I think me and Ulywife just may be able to make it. Rubberdown - Hey that wave runner looks just like an HP2. When did BMW start making water crafts. Fly - Man, I'm impressed. Only 15 minutes stopped in 19 hours of riding. Just let me know when you can feel your butt again. |

What are y'all doing next weekend? Headed to Florida ... to pick up a bike ..... Wish I could join ya'll at the meet! Fly... Damn, what a ride. I could never do that. Most I ever did was 900 in a day and that was about 400 more than I wanted. (Message edited by rubberdown on September 30, 2007) |
