Argh... nothing worse than writing a whole message, only for the computer to have an aneurysm and lose the entire text! Harv, that itinerary sounds good. One question; anyone rather go mid-week for the Island ride? It would work better for Don to take time off then. (Maybe the roads would be less crowded too) But whatever works for the majority of riders that want to join in the fun. We'll go (pending a sitter) regardless of the day. This is one ride we've been wanting to do for awhile. Are you still into having a chase vehicle carry the camping equipment? I know for a fact that's the only way that Don would do it. We've never done the motorcycle camping thing and don't really have the bikes for it anyhow. Wimps you say? Well to each their own. With having to drag around kiddie equipment for the past 7 years, we kinda like a vacation that doesn't involve that. PS. Darn, there goes our surprise Birthday Party idea BIB! LittleOne, BorderRaid is a group ride that has our American neighbours ripping up the Squamish highway with us to Whistler for the night. Next day we ride Duffey Lake road and head to either Kamloops or wherever. Check out my site's RoadTrip section for photos of last year's ride http://bcrider.com/roadtrip.html PS. There is typically two informal groups - the fast group and the non-fast group of riders. We all eventually meet up and everyone has fun at their own skill level too. It's just a fun bunch of people; on and off the bikes! |

I've suggested before to Jim that we should, or could, ship camping gear by Greyhound Freight to our destination. I always just end up having to carry everything anyway. (Not saying I'm coming. Not saying I'm not.) |

Thanks for the info additude. It looks like fun. I am still getting over my fear of the Sea to sky hwy. I crashed on that hwy on the back of someone's bike. So this run up on May 22nd will be the real test for me. Like i said i'll be the slow on in the back of the pack. I will see how i feel with that ride before i decide on the borderaid. |

Well, well, LittleOne, we finally meet... face to helmet. That kerker pipe sounds sweet, btw! Sorry to hear about that past mishap on the Sea to Sky hwy. Yikes, that must have been traumatic! That can be a very spooky highway, especially when group riding and you're not familiar with the other riders abilities. If everyone maintains the staggered formation, then single file through the turns, all will go smoothly. Although I ride my Blast full tilt, I know I can't hold back those V-twins so I wave them past when necessary. That way I'm more comfortable knowing someone isn't a) getting tired of hearing the loud pipe... and b) annoyed because they want to pass. If everyone rides within their limits... it's all good! |

that was funny for sure. I saw the giant red truck coming up the hill and i thought to myself that must be Additude. The really funny thing is that i met a guy last night that works with your husband ( i am so bad with names that i forget his) But he dosn't ride a buell but a cruiser. I hear ya on the ridding the blast full tilt, i do everywhere else but the sea to sky. But cuz i ride with a bunch of guys that have way more power than me i usually end up in the back of the pack anyway. I don't mind being back there i get to look at all there butts all day don't tell them that, they will make me lead next time. hahaha |

Littleone: We couldn't plan our meetings any better than seat-of-the-pants. I just about died after standing there for those few minutes, then glance over and see a Blast! Oh man, it's you!... I should have given you a card so we could connect for a ride. Best time for me to ride (without having to line up a sitter) is during the morning to early afternoon. Just before hubby has to take off for afternoon shift. My daughter sure enjoyed her first motorcycling experience yesterday. I think we've created a monster... lol. Take me for a ride Mommy!... Anyhow, it's Mother's Day so Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mothers out there. Ride safe.

Okay so I'm happy that I didn't got to Mexico with the boys. First off they both made it back. 1 week early minus a bike and one broken leg. My buddy was hit by a van while in Mexico, might want to add he is lucky to be alive. I don't think that I can stress enough to everyone to always be aware of what is around you. He went to pull a U-Turn and turned right in front of a van that was doing about 60k. He was thrown 30 ft away from the bike and the bike went underneath the van. I have seen the pictures and let me tell you it doesn't look like a Vulcan anymore. He has made it back to Canada without a bike but still has his life. I just wanted to say that everyone be careful out there and always be alert. Before crossing the road look both ways like your mom always told you to. Ride Safe

Hi everyone, I was never good at typing, and now it's left hand only. I'll be back at work probably later this week and we'll try to arrange another date for the season kick off, unfortunatly I'll be driving. I was up at Logan lake near Kamloops dirt bikin and decided to try a double jump late in the day when I was too tired to judge it. The transition was steeper than I thought and I cased it on the landing. I broke two bones in my forearm, chipped the lumpy one by my wrist, and the main one turned into 4" of mashed potato. I have a "T" plate and screws keepin it together and I go in for a cast on Friday. I'll see if I can bring in a handlebar to shape my cast and maybee I'll be riding sooner than later, if not, it won't be till fall. We'll keep in touch, Stuart the Gootch, pumped full of codine.

See, the codine is really workin, I forgot to mention that there {might} be a chance of a special rider comming for Rippin up the Rockies. That rider {could} be the man himself, Eric Buell. Hope you all have registered. Thanks Stuart |
