Keith,
Why not just have an event of our own, even if they don't? I think we could pull something off.
Given a year to plan and promote just about anything can be done.

Ben,
I was kind of waiting to see if they were going to do the flattrack races here again next year and maybe plan a weekend around them. I think the idea has some very good oportunities. Heather and I really enjoyed having everyone here this past weekend.

Ben,

I am allready going to be up in Burlington for Steamboat days on that Friday night for the Def Leppard concert. I have a buddy that lives right across the river in Oquaka, IL. Heather and I go up there every year and catch at least one night. We HAD to go see Poison last year at Heathers request. I'll give you a call. Maybe we can hook up while we are up there. I'll be back in Burlington on the weekend of July 19th. I have to attend my cousins wedding but maybe we can get some riding in that weekend.

Keith

Bill...

Yes... there is someone out there... just ask anyone who knows me... I am way the hell out there! This is just the beginning... all will work out... there will be plenty of time to panic later!!! LOL.

I may have to be the late man at work tomorrow... and due to the rain... or threat of rain, I plan on riding my BMW to work and to McBrides. So guys... cut me a break... for not Buelling... but I feel better doing rain on the BMW. I will try to park in the far end of the lot as to not embarrass the rest of you with the old filthy thing from Germany... hey... at least it is not a jap bike!!!

Did someone in the MOB take a spill last night???

One of our contractors said that on the way home last night he saw a yellow Buell upside-down in a ditch along 169 & Englewood... with the rider wearing yellow gear standing next to it. I am sure with a very unhappy expression on his face. I am pretty sure it was not ME... and the description did not sound like Jason. So... to whoever... My hopes are that any injuries are minor... and the bike damage was minimal. Bummer!!!

I was toooooooo embarrassed to BMW to a BRAG meeting (he says as he holds his head low in shame) I toughed it out and rode the XB9S today. Of course... the fact that the weatherman took rain out of the forecast had NOTHING to do with the change!!

Keef... all I knows is whats I got tolded... didn't see it... ain't got no photos... for all I know the sucker could have been cockroaching with an "X" across the headlight like a cartoon!!!! The guy said yellow scooter... the word "Buell" on the tank... and a matching rider (without "Buell" written on him) standin next to it. No disrespect to the guy that stood over the thing... but I would like to see a cartoon like that, rather than any scooter in the dirt lying any direction. Been there... IT SUCKS!!!

Sam,

Any word on video from B-trax in Waterloo??
Been quite some time haven't seen a thing yet!
Wondering if you have heard from him? So much for trusting people even with something small like that. I mean if it was to cost more than what he said I would have gladly sent a few more $.

Thanks again Ryan

Hey guys! It was good to meet & re-meet you all! I had a good time talking with you! I apologize for having to cut my ride short tonight. I didn't realize what time it was and that I had a dog at home in the house that had to be let out. I will be better prepared next time.

I finally figured out what it was that made me feel out of place. I don't have the leather jacket! :) actually I have one but I don't like it. It doesn't fit me very well and it is uncomfortable. I might just sell it.

Anyway how often do you guys ride together? And I forgot to ask who is it that lives out in Lee's Summit I think it was? I live in independence.

Well I look forward to hanging with you all again! I will be sending off my BRAG registration on Friday.

Fuscat - It was great meeting you. I have lived in Independence all my life except for 4 years in the army (72 -76) and last 4 years since my divorce. I grew up in the Fairmount area... well grew up might be misleading... but that is an entirely different subject. I now live walking distance from the Blue Ridge Mall.

I Joe Rocket textile most of the time... just got a new Pro-perf Vanson Buell jacket... I started to wear it... but thought it might be too much. Probably a good thing... since someone attempted to drown me with a glass of water launched at me as we were leaving W.J. McBride's. :) Actually in 30+ years... it is only my second leather jacket. I'd never make it as a Harley dude... not that much into leather. :) If everyone else wears leather... that would make me the odd man out... ...and I am already out of sync as it is.

Hope you see you next week when we do it all again.

...and Frank... yes BMWs and great mechanics come from Germany.

...and Bill, I will try find BRAG card and bring the number next week. Dennis

Das that's awesome! I live in the Englewood shopping district right down Sterling from you! My fiance and I bought our home there a little over a year ago we love it there! I can see the Englewood Theatre and Ben Franklin's from my front porch! Since your so close hopefully we can hook up and go on some local rides together after work! I love your bike by the way I still need to get over to Topeka to test ride one!

I may have to look into the JR Textile jacket. I like the way it looked and it didn't seem to be too restrictive. How cool is that thing during the middle of the summer though? This may be stupid rookie question but do you guys always wear a protective jacket of some kind even in like July/August?? I know the word "protective" pretty much sums it all up and it is a very good idea just like a helmet. But damn my bike rides so hot already I just think the jacket would have you on fire and make your ride not as enjoyable? I would never make it as a harley dude either! hahah (don't tell my father that, he still thinks he can convert me!) :)

Fuscat,

I usually ride with all my gear on (except for those bonehead moments when its getting ready to rain! right richie?). The Joe Rocket ballistics are not as hot as you think. You can take the liners out of them. The only time I notice being warm is when stopped. When moving, if you have the vents open, the air travels right through the jacket and keeps you cool. You will sweat in them just a bit but this gives a good cooling effect with the vents. Maybe I have just gotten used to it.

Fuscat - I have only been with the MOB for a few rides... and everyone seems to at least wear a jacket on the weekly stuff... as for me... I never go out without boots, gloves and a jacket. I love the JR Phoenix and have worn it up to 100+ in the summer. It is so breezy that on summer nights when I hit cool pockets it works too well. The stop lights & signs seem the only problem with the Phoenix in the summer... but engine heat will get you with a t-shirt, air flows right through them... they are great summer protection! ...and by the way... every XB comes with a free heated seat :) as the rear cylinder fan plow hot air out directly under the seat. That will be fun this summer at long lights!!!

...and by the way... thought I have been riding since 1970... this is my first sport bike... not counting the 1995 BMW R1100RA I have... which is their naked SB and nice... but way not a Buell

Thanks... I love my XB9S... and spent way more on stuff for it than I thought I would... and had planned on waiting one more summer before getting a new ride... I am soooooo glad I did not wait!!! The XB is awesome!!! You gotta ride one... and I will eventually get a tuber... I want a White Lightning... but I will have to make that a long term goal.

We will have to hook up sometime and ride... later.
