Hi guys, today was a great ride, thanks to Jim for setting a good pace, and Aron for giving me someone to try to keep up with. This is Jeremy, I ride the yellow thing just visible in the first pic. Everyone made it home in one piece and I hope everyone had fun, thanks to everybody who came and enjoyed this little corner of Washington.

Welcome on board Jeremy. I am not sure who is keeping up with who! You didn't seem to have any problem passing me on the straight

Should we start planning next Saturday ride? I know there is no RSVP required for Gators but when you are the only one showing up it is a real bummer especially 7 am in the morning after riding 25 miles to get there.

I posted some maps up above. there has been some interest in possibly checking out the one that runs just north of 26 up towards mt hood and over to hood river. I have never done this route so it may be fun to explore. Paul you have your navigator so it would be a nice opportunity.

After the 8th I will miss three rides due to family plans and Vacation in Vegas. I will miss the 15th, 22nd and 29th.

I think that ride would be a blast, I'll get it arranged with my family so I can be gone for a little while that day. Do you want me to bring any of my friends from yesterdays ride, I realize there aren't many buells in that group, but... just let me know. As far as passing you in the straight, "anyone with a right hand can go fast on straight road" the day I can pass you in the twisties, then we'll talk about who's faster. At the rate I'm learning and gaining confidence, it could still be a while. Either way, I had a great time and thanks again for coming along. And if you or anyone is interested I can try to link a map in here to show the route we took.

Jeremy

I'm all for having any of those guys show up. I know I didn't get a lot of time to really talk to all of them, but they all seemed to respect each other and ride within their abilities, so that makes them o.k. with me. I love it when a larger group gets together like that and nobody gets stupid or tries to one-up each other. It was also cool to have some two-up riders there. As soon as my wife finds out I'll have to inquire about a "bring the wife/girlfriend along" ride. Maybe next spring.

As for Saturday, I'm in. I'd vote for trying out either of those maps. It would be really cool if we can get a good turn out again, too.

I am good with it as well. A larger group is fun now that I have got the chance to ride in decent size groups a couple of times.

Lets get it setup. I think the one going through Hood River would be most accommodating for the various riders. It would also be a nice place for break or not.

I will start passing the word to my friends, if we are going to go through hood river would it be prudent to start on the east side of town? I guess what I'm asking is, place and time to meet. Gators is all good for me if that's the official place, but seems to me that meeting closer to the starting point might make sense. Just an idea, let me know so I can start passing on the info to my group of friends.

Jeremy, I am ok with just about any meet up place that will result in riders showing up.
Gators is a great place for West side rides. Having a East side meet up for East side rides works great for me as well. I think that the 8:00 am seems to be a little easier on riders as well. I don't want to make it too late because it's nice to finish up around 1-2.

I'm good with anywhere, I was simply making a suggestion. Since I live in V-town, it's a bit of a drive just to get to the west side, then from the west side it's a bit more of a drive to get to the east side, etc. In the desire for efficiency(don't laugh Jim)I was thinking an east side meeting spot would make this ride go a little smoother. There's lots of places around mall 205 that are good for that if that sounds at all appealing. You can call me today if you want to try to chat and set up a place at 360-608-1450. Talk to you guys soon and I'll start collecting friends for this weekend. As far as time and place this is still PBR's baby, I didn't join to take over, last weekend I just set up a ride for some of my friends and invited PBR to come also because I enjoy riding with everyone from there I've met. I feel fortunate to know you guys, and hope that we can get some more good rides in before the crappy weather rolls in to stay for the next 9-12 months.

Mall 205 area sounds fine with me. We can Just hit I84 to Lewis and Clark Exit to get on our route.

Go ahead and pick a good spot.

I plan on heading to Gators Saturday morning at 7:00 for Breakfast before heading over to Mall 205 area.

If any others want to meet up for some cheap food and bad coffee your welcome. At 7:30 sharp we would need to head over to the East side and meet up with Jeremy's group by 8:00.

I will try to get everyone to meet at gators, if it's too early for some of the "lesser manly" riders, including myself, I'll set up an east side location for us to meet up with them, does that sound ok?

For a quicker trip back you could head right down I84 back into Portland which would cut about 12 miles of the trip and provide a faster RD for better time.

holy... only 136??????? The ride last week is close to that for the full loop and this map seemed so much bigger, well I guess it's time to get my eyes checked again. I am sooooooooo in for that and I have at least 1 coming with me, checking with some of my other friends. I have someone on a Valkyrie possibly interested, are you guys opposed to a cruiser tagging along, knowing that he can handle it very well, and he's experienced enough to know only to ride to his limits, etc.

Yes but by the time I go to gators back out to Troutdale and back to Hillsboro its closer to 220 miles.

I might even have to get GAS....

Bring anyone you want. The Valkyrie is 6 cyl?

I rode with a Valkyrie Interstate two weekends ago (not sure if its the same kind of bike). He had no problem keeping up. But I was on my V-rod at the time.

yes it's the 6 cyl. he kept up with me going down the old scenic highway from crown point to multnomah falls, it amazed me pretty well. I get about 135 miles to where my gas light comes on so I'll want to get gas for sure. I know there is gas stations right there next to the freeway on Stark/Washington. I should have a rough count of my friends by tomorrow, but looks like 2-4 is about all to expect at this point.

Just so everyone knows, I'm Jeremy's brother, not just some random guy logging on to your forum.

First of all I want to say I hate all of you for having some of the greatest roads in the US to ride on. I have been all over the US and the only place that really compares is Deals Gap in North Carolina.

I'm now unfortunate enough to be stationed in Abilene, TX where the best road is about equal to I-84 going up Cabbage Hill (maybe not that even that good). I've got the weather you've got the roads (I'm jealous).

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and enjoy what you've got before it goes away till next summer.

Is there anyone here that would like to take a slow pace, scenic ride up Windy ridge? I was getting ready to leave, when the other bike I was riding with had to cancel last second. I'd like to leave more or less right away, if anyone is interested, call me at 360-608-1450, thanks.

AMMCBR,
I got a budy in Houstoun who rides Buell, the Houstoun Buellers get together a couple times a year... How far is that? I know they do the hill country at least once a year too...

Everyone keep an eye out for a guy named Nick(I think) on a yellow Buell in the morning, he's apparently not a member of PBR yet, but I think he's hoping to as of tomorrow morning. He called me today, I assume from the post a few up from here that had my phone # in it. He introduced himself as a fellow Buell-er, I had to break it to him easy and make him aware that I'm only second class with a Ducati.

Great Ride today. Thank you Nick for getting us on some nice roads. I remember Bell Rd. What was the name of the other one that we hit just out of Wilsonville?

Paul hope you made it in time. We got done or at least I did around 2:00 (210 miles).

Jeremy, thanks for rounding up a group. It was nice to have good turn out.

That was a great ride. Probably had the widest variety of roads I've ever ridden in one day, too, not to mention the fact that I almost saw a CBR1100 rubbin' pipes on the ground with two people on it.

Funny thing here is all the people who were supposed to come because of me... didn't show up. Every one of them skipped for one reason or another, including "I slept in" and "I'm broke". Thanks for bringing me along, that was fun, I still can't sit much, been standing most of the afternoon. I am seriously going to have to go back up those roads just out of Newberg again, I like them. For the record, it looks like I lost my clutch today, might be out for a week or two as I save up for the parts, probably between $400-$700. Yes, that's parts only. Damn Italian elitist _____(fill in your own expletive here). I'm thinking if it's more than 400 I might just step up to the slipper clutch which is supposed to be a mighty improvement over stock, and start around 700. We'll see. If I can't make the next one, have a great trip, and I'll be back in the saddle as fast as possible, assuming I can sit in it again.
