Well guys I guess I missed meeting up with any of you last Friday.I kept watching for your messages on here but I had to leave a bit early and I do not have a PC at home.I stare at a computer 5 days a week and I do not want one at the house.
Jason(medic352),I am sorry that you got soaked.Usually I frequent Riverside Dr,but Friday I was not able to ride until later in the evening.
I wished I would have known about Andrew(Eagleez8) heading to Weber's Friday evening.I guess I should checked on here before I left work.Last week was very hectic.I work in the printing industry and it is very crazy sometimes.
Maybe some of you guys will get together this weekend and I will get the chance to meet up with some fellow Bueller's.
Hey Mike(motomut),I appreciate the shout out.I know 40 isn't that old but I smoked a lot of reefer in the past so I feel much older than I actually am.(haha)I just say that anyway about being old because I ride like an old lady.I just want everyone to know that I am not much of a rider.Plus I feel like if I joke around some, you guys will give me a chance to fit in.By no means is 50 old either.
So I will be needing to put front brake pads on my Lightning before much longer. If anyone wants to do the install for me I would be willing to sit back and supervise...haha......
I hope everyone out there has a good day.I will be watching for you all.Motor safely.Peace.........Lesley

Hey, getting soaked on my bike is better than getting soaked at work(well in my line of work anyway!). This weekend sounds good, I just met a guy at the HD shop, he has an S-1, told him to check us out! Let me know what anybody comes up with, Riverwalk, Wings-to-Go, QT whatever. I would advise avoiding the PGA traffic, don't wanna' get ran over by Tiger.

Jason, I am the one with the S1 that talked to you up at the Harley Shop today.
I have been here on the BadWeb for a couple of months now, eversince I got another Buell, and I never had checked out this Stormfront section of the forum. Here is my Buell ( http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 289011.html?1183381974 ) I listed it for sale here but it is no longer for sale. I may have to meet up with you guys sometime and ride.

And there he is!

Your bike looks good, let me know when you get your Force header on! I got a baffle for mine (same day I got a "Loud Muffler" ticket on Brookside). But, I have yet to put it in yet.

Welcome on board!

Les,

Are your pads to the wear lines yet? The stock pads should last quite awhile if you don't ride real aggressively. They are pretty easy to switch out. If you need some help, you can come over and I will install them for you sometime. I live 4 miles west of Broken Arrow just off 71st street.

Drake,

My brake pads are still ok for now I think.I just rolled past 8k mi on it this weekend.I got it June 19,and I have almost put 3k on it since purchase.I guess that is pretty good considering most of my riding is up and down Riverside Drive and to Keystone dam.The Corps of engineers was really running a lot of water there for awhile. It was quite a site.I appreciate your offer of help on my bike.I will probably take you up on that when the time comes.
So you must live real close to my work place.5301 s 129th e avenue Odyssey Digital Printing. I bet you know where that is.I live due west of Downtown Tulsa about 4 miles. How funny is that?If you know where Charles Page Blvd is, then you know where I grew up.If you are ever out here by my work place just stop in and say hello.Just walk in the north end west side of the building and ask for me.I'll give you a big print of a Buell.Or bring me a high res photo(on CD) of you on your bike.I will hook you up with something you can hang on the wall.
So I am gonna be watching on here to see where you guys will be riding or hanging out next.Hopefully this weekend I can meet some of you at least for a quick chat.It is getting so freakin hot outside,I have been parking my bike in front of the house and looking at it from the air conditioned comfort of the windows, haha just kidding.I think I will do a short ride Friday evening thru my neighbor's irrigated yard.
Talk to you soon.Motor safely, Les

Les,
Whoops...I just realized I said 4 miles west of BA. I meant to say 4 miles EAST of BA by the Forest Ridge Golf course.

Jason,
Yes, Cycle Connection is working on her right now. They should call me about it tomorrow. Route 66 was unable to get to it this time of year...

Cycle Connection is up in Joplin, Mo. :
http://www.cycleconnectionh-d.com/Photo_gallery.as p?category=&page=2

They have a dyno, we all rode up for a Buell deal, did demo rides put our bikes on the dyno, did the small skills scoure in the parking lot, it was a day that will go down in the books as one of the "Best Motorcycle Rides of All Time"

I am thinking about(pushing my bike out in a few seconds) going up to the Hurricane Lounge on 11th St (across from the TU stadium) for Free Hot Wings at 5 PM, come on down, its mostly HD guys, but, there cool. One of my Buells will be out front.

Drake,
What did they say failed? Cam bushing, lifter, pinion bearing, sprocket bearing, rod bearing? Oil pump? Sounded lifter/valvetrin like. I could picture the roller on one of the lifters seizing(localised), that would have made the "chirp" noise intermittently. Is that gonna' knock you out of an 1125R? Just wondering? Now would be the time to change anything, while it is apart, labor is the same, it is just as easy to add higher compression pistons, bigger cams, or ported heads & intake, as it is to put OEM stuff back in place. Keep us informed.

Yeah, I am probably gonna have a little fun with it. Well see, though. The 1125R is still on the radar.

They said the crank bearing was bad, the piston was slapping, the oil pump gear was damaged and the cylinders were scored up.

Brian, got a call from a new guy today, his name is Kevin. He has an'07 Uly' says it stumbles below 3000 RPM, I gave him your number. I am going out to let him ride my Firebolt to see if it is him(Hayabusa history) or if it is his bike.

Jason,
I talked to Keven yesterday, sounds like a TPS reset mite help, Route 66 H-D should do it under warranty. I should of told him to ck his battery cables, it can cause problems also.(mine are always lose)
He has had BMW's and a Busa to compare it with the Uly, I think after it's good and broke in say about 3000miles it will smooth out. (mine did)

Yep, K model in a Norton Featherbed frame...sort of like the grandpa to the Buell. They started in 1952, not sure to how late, but, they kept racing them up until the aluminum headed XR 750 motors came out(for flat track racing anyway). The K-model uses the same four camshaft arrangement, the '52's did not have a transmission trap door, just like our Buells. This particular K had severe case damage at the transmission, it was modified and a Norton transmission was 'adapted'. You'll see it around Tulsa from time to time. When you look at the tuber's you really see the cam cover resemblance. I got a couple of good shots of an XR and KR is anyone is interested, I'll post 'em!

I might get it back in the next week or so! But, I may not get to ride it for awhile. We are going on vacation to Spain and Portugal for a few weeks. If anybody keeps up with Moto GP, I will be at the Portugal race on 9/16/07. I'm so excited! : )
