U4 ... "the boots" ! About mid-way through the 4th session on day one my foot started slipping on the peg like it had oil on it. I thought, "shit! I'm spraying oil on my boot". Bike seemed ok and I didn't see any oil so I finished the session and pitted. The damn boot had come apart and the sole of the left boot had flown off on the track. WTF! Anyway, there was a vendor there with boots in my size so $170 later I was good to go. Classic. |

Does it mean I'm an engineer if it took me till 2:30 to notice my shirt was on inside out? Or that I work with engineers that no one else noticed? |

Went to Southern Pines yesterday. Right as I was getting close to Mike's house, I saw him ride by. I chased his ass down highway 2 for a while before I figured out it really wasn't him. Went back and was greeted at the Rubberdown household by a large number of dogs and no people. So I went to Sweetfeed to wait for Rachael. I was 30 minutes early, so I took a nap on her table. It was HOT yesterday and I needed some water after I woke up. Rachael got there, gave me some water and we looked at Barber pictures. Looks like a wonderful track. She packed me up some goodies for the trip home. A thunderstorm had rolled in and I rode home in that. It was fun. The lightning looks cool from the bike, and I got a wash out of the deal as well. |

Yall have a great time. Was hoping to make it up for a look-see, but did not realize it was on a Wednesday. But, will see alot of you six weeks from today! Can't wait...Since I was off today,I decided to look into the shifting problem. Drained the primary, and it looked like melted coffee ice cream. Maybe a bit of water got in? I have no idea what the dealer put back in when they replaced the stator. I put a quart of formula + back in, adjusted the clutch, and seems to be fine now. Also removed the handguards and installed some decent bar end mirrors. I'm SO ready for this heat to break. Later... |

What is everybody doing next weekend? We are talking about going to Kristi's Dad's place in Hillsville VA. I was wondering if one day we can hook up and ride in mountains north or Winston-Salem? |

Ok so I'm in the middle of moving and the new place doesn't have a garage. Does anybody know of a shelter system that is perfect for a motorcycle outside? Opinions? Comments? Thanks Travis Don't forget about the beerfest in Asheville on Sept 22nd! |

We will be heading to Virginia this weekend. We will be up there Saturday through Monday. I have a date with a trimmer on Sunday so riding looks good on Saturday. If you are interested in riding the BRP and local roads let me know. (Message edited by M2nc on August 27, 2007) |

It WAS Sunday, but after speaking to Kristi, and getting my water heater and new floor fixed, the dogs broke the water line feeding the house. So a hour job turned into an allday event!!!!! Probably best nobody was available, who knows what I would have come home to. Hopefully my chain conversion will be here before Friday and I can get it on. |

WE ARE NOT ALONE!!! As I was coming back from Ozzfest in Charlotte today, just before I got to Smithfield I saw a car - well, minivan actually - with an oval sticker (like you see for a foreign country, or AB for Atlantic Beach, EI for Emerald Isle, OBX for Outer Banks, etc.) on the back door and it said C3! I maneuvered around traffic to read the fine print to see what the hell C3 was (to them). Without further adieu (hold onto your hats), here it is: the OTHER C3... Too bad my new helmet doesn't have our C3 sticker on it yet...or I could've showed them what C3 is to us, 1313 |

Carlos, looks like I'll be able to head up that way Saturday morning. I'll give you a call from the restaurant at 52N and the parkway when I get there, say 10am, or earlier/later if need be. Let me know what time suits you. If anyone wants to ride up with me, let me know by tomorrow night. |

Don't know if I can make it or not, sure would like too!! Got a lot of meat in the frier and nothing to turn it over with so I'll see. 1313-interesting! Wonder what they would have thought about it! On a more comical note. Long story short, My CDL instructor rides an 06 softail with ape hangers. After we took our final on the road test he wanted to go for a ride and maybe get a chance to ride the Buell, sure I said. So I take him down SOME of the roads that I really enjoy on the bike. Kept it at a nice steady pace( I was after all on a HD!) We stopped at four stop signs the entire trip: the first one- second stop sign: and the 3rd: and by the last stop he just couldn't believe how much fun it was! He works for the DMV and hardly gets a chance to ride some good roads. He wants to go out and ride some more and mentioned C3, he loved the idea! His bike was much fun as well! on an even more comical note: during the 3 days of training he kept talking about his buddy with the hotrod Honda who also rode a cruiser. I would talk about my buddy who just bought a track ready bike, my buddy this and that..... today we finally realized that it was the same person, Pete who stayed in the uhm,...huhm.... cabin with us! too funny |
