I thought it was that "Southern gentleman" thing that wouldn't let you leave the Biatch to run last.I always say leave her and let her catch up at the next intersection. Unfortunately they don't work so well with my MP3 player. I only get mono out of them and it is very quiet. I ended up picking up a pair of Sony ones and hacking the crap out of them to get at the guts. Still working on getting them to mount nicely in my helmet though. You could alway cut off the end and put a normal headphone jack on them. Still though,it'll never be assembled before the end of the season.Too bad,but i've still had one heck of a great time THIS season anyway. C'mon guys' wake up! Where's Mike??? Mike...what happened? Y'know,we only rode with 'ya twice.It'll take many more rides to become accustomed to your style.C'mon back already!!   Jpb Posted on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 - 05:33 pm:        Yeah it has been quiet...I'm jamming at work - only 2 more days and then the operations/material manager leaves and I'm picking up a crap load of his work and now my lead inspector is leaving so I'm reading a lot of very bad resumes and interviewing a couple of people. Been really busy on the home front as well - trying to get the yard and house ready for the party I haven't told everybody about yet...more to come on that at another time... I was going to try to bust out of here this weekend for a ride but the weather isn't looking too good...but I'll keep my on it and here to see if anybody else is out and about this weekend. I was waved to lead and I left and when I got to fith gear I looked back and no one was behind me, I evan pulled over and no one came by, so I figured that you guys did not like what I did going down the mountain and did not want to ride with me and went the other way, sometimes I get crazy I have not ridden with other bikes that much and I lead a boring life and need some adrennalen pumping thru me, I can not drink it makes me feel like shit and weed makes me out of it and would not beable to talk or do much of anything and sometimes you got to let loose and Mt Washinton going down hill fast but not crazy fast is different than just going around corners fast, so I figured you guys did not want to ride with me and just been doing my thing. eric did the direct link key thing and what a difference it made, cant give it full throttle or it will flip over in first. let me know what happend, up there that pissed you guys off, I tried to leave before everyone so no one would know that you were with me and I did not want to get you guys into trouble. We waved you on when Jim got down the mountain, but then he reminded us that we still had two guys up the mountain (the HD's). So we stayed put and waited for them. We were sure we were going to find you waiting up around the next bend. But as for riding style, fast as all hell is OK with us, but no wheelies in group rides if you don't mind.   Ducxl Posted on Thursday, August 23, 2007 - 09:04 am:        I never recall seeing Mike back at the bottom.Someone remarked he seemed somewhat reckless or "herky-jerky" rushing up upon riders.I was ok with it and just trusted Mike was under control of his bike. He got down that mountain pretty fast and looked like he'd been waiting awhile for us; his bike shut down, helmet & gloves off... Mike: we never ditch anyone. Period. And if we lose somebody off the back, there will be a search party coming for you. Now on to happier things. I get my wife back for two weeks starting tomorrow! She's in Kuwait right now waiting for a red eye to take her outta there. No riding for me this weekend, unless I can get her to two-up with me down to the Bean for breakfast. Or maybe we'll take the cage. If you want it you can come by and grab it or wait till I can come out and meet you guys before a ride. I had surgery last week so I am not riding for a while.......... at least till the Doc lets me take my knee brace out of the locked position. Mike..... There are certain "rules" when riding in a large group like we had. Scotty mentioned one of them and there are others. Like you said your not used to riding in a group so on our next group ride we can let you know. I was kindof iratable that day, I did not like all the stops and did not know when to take my jacket of or keep it on, I had a bad start with the plywood hitting me on the head, then dropping my bike at the gas station the kickstand sunk into the asphalt and got on the wrong side and just went over, then all my quarters I keep for tolls went everywhere and had to pick up about 30 quarters. I was jerky I think because I was frustrated, had a bad morning and did not have enouph coffee in me. if anyone wants to know how I ride ask Eric? I have rode with him twice and once with a couple of you other guys, I had a great time riding and expected sunday to be the same, I rode with eric and mike the day before, we hardly stoped and rode fast and smooth, I got to follow and we stuck together, and rode all day, I geuss I expected the same for sundays ride. I will try to keep my wheels on the ground when riding with you guys, I used to be realy good at wheelies and did them all the time, I realy do not remember doing what I considerd a wheelie, I have fear in me now and do not do wheelies any more, I have gotten hurt allot from flipping over and I have alot of responsabilitys so I do not do anything out of control, atleast not yet. I am still getting use to this bike and now that eric tuned my bike it has alot more power and if I was to do a wheelie I would not do it around anyone, but will try to keep my wheels on the ground when riding together with you guys. I like to follow and the two times I rode with some of you guys I had a realy great time and think I expected the same that sunday. so much happend that day I almost did not show up, wanted to go to the drag races with Eric, but it was me that sugested the ride so I felt I should show up. I want to ride with you guys, but prefure small groups. If anyone is looking for someone to ride with I am available for riding any day of the week. I have only two things that I like besides woman, and that is motorcycles, and music, but motorcycles are what I think about the most, I am a gear head and been riding since around 8, I am not as good as rider as I was but never had someone to ride with, I geuss I need to trust you guys more, I thought you guys were pissed off at me and when I turned around no one was there rode slow for a while and did not see anyone so I took off, anywase let me know if you guys are riding, I just want to follow fast, and I will be happy, and maybe stop for a coffee once. Wheelies...cool skill...and it takes skill...we're not against them - just not when you're in the middle of the pack. You tended to get up on the guy in front of you. Or...back off a bit before you pull up the front. We kept looking for ya...and just never caught you up. The breaks tend to be more frequent with the bigger groups...more to bs about and not sure of who needs a rest or a leak...the larger ride groups is just a bit more of go with the flow. But knowing this now...we can work on less breaks and more riding. Going flat out all day leaves out the cameraderie we need to build.
