Garrett - When you turned off 221 onto 181 you were about one mile from my house. Call me (828)387-7222 next time you're coming up. Maybe we can ride some, maybe catch a bite at The Italian Restaurant there in Pineola. THANKS - Stan

Stan-I noticed a coffee shop on the corner where I turned off, is that place any good?
looked kinda cool. back porch on the creek. ever been there? anyway, I stopped at a little store on the right just before you cross back over the park way and almost had to break up a fight. Seems to me theres alot of nice little places up that way. I've been trying to get the wife to spend more time in the mountains but she can't slow down enough. I'll definitely call next time I'm up that way.

Garrett I don't know about the coffee there, but I can vouch for the ice cream : )

I believe the name is Christa's Country Store, but I could be remembering that wrong. I had my nephew up in the back of that monster truck taking pics a few weeks ago.

Well Carlos and Mark (Webe) got to Roanoke tonight around 11 p.m. They will meet up with Nutsosane tomorrow AM for the rest of their journey to WV. Carlos said they took mostly 2 lane roads. He also got pulled because his brake light was hard to see with the Tour Master bag on the back. Thankfully, no ticket! He also says his fan is making a funny noise.........I really don't want to go to WV to get him. Let's hope that fan holds out until he gets home.

More later!

Can you still get warranty parts for the Uly? My dealer went ahead and ordered my fan w/o having to see the bike. You might want to get the ball rolling.

Can you still get warranty parts for the Uly?

I don't see why not. The fan was not damaged in the accident. Lee has been great about ordering parts without us having to come in. I'll see how today goes and then call if it shows signs of failing.

Oldog - have fun in Nags Head. Have you given anymore thought to joining us for Buelltoberfest?

Sanchez: coming soon to a Carolina near you! I'm riding to Winston-Salem for Labor Day weekend with a couple of Harley friends, and I'd love to meet up with some of you. Anyone have any recommendations for good routes and when to ride them? The only things I know for sure right now are that I need to be in W-S on Saturday, September 1st, and that I'll probably leave W-S on Monday the 3rd or Tuesday the 4th.

North of W-S has some great riding. Pilot mountain is up there, and if you head up into VA, which is about 100 miles, there are some fantastic roads.

Map and roads here

I'd love to meet up when you are here that Saturday, but I'll be in Colorado that weekend!

So far as good roads, 66 is a good one towards Hanging Rock. There are a good amount of roads around that area as well, but I would probably get you lost trying to tell you about routes on here, hah...

Hi Justin...that's one fine looking city-x. I live in Greensboro, and sometimes take 65,66 to Mt.Airy, sometimes 8/89 towards the BRP a few times a year. They are all nice routes. But, I won't be riding any long trips until I can adjust the primary and clutch. Upshift problems after the bike is hot. I'm blaming it on the tech that installed the stator earlier this year. Next time I'm up that way I'll post/send you a pm. Just got back home from dropping Jay's things off at WCU. It's been a long day. Oh, I finally saw a Uly in Greensboro today. Big dude riding with a t-shirt. Must be a local. Nance, were you able to perfectly adjust the throttle cables? I'm sure mine need it. Later...

I replaced the front isolator!

It didn't break anything, require any helicoils, and Mark didn't have to come to house. And it only took about an hour.

of course it didn't fix the vibration either, just like Mark said it wouldn't.

not to hijack but does anyone know a well educated buell parts guy. I've been asking around and so far two parts departments were completely oblivious to the fact that for 2008 there is blue bodywork available. I would like this for my bike. I would like to think that someone would like to sell it to me. am I crazy?

if anyone has a trusty parts salesman and would be willing to share your parts salesman with me please let me know where they are.

thanks all

Ulyrider - check with Andy at Appleton HD/Buell or Smokescreen at Stone Mountain HD/Buell. They are both listed in our sponsor section and are very Buell friendly. We have ordered parts from both of these dealers.

M2nc & Webe are having fun in WV. There are about 7-8 BadWeBr's riding the WV roads. Carlos says they are having a great time and that Wolfridgeriders parents really put out a spread for them Friday night. They were all stuff and Mom2 came out with pie!

Webe is adjusting to riding distance, so tomorrow might be a little rough on him. Carlos has taken several pictures so he'll have to post them when they get home.

Hey Jim, Trying, today in fact, to work out the particulars on a return trip to RTP. It'll work out, eventually, but right now I'm 'managing expectations.' I have zero interest in another 24/7 life-consumer and once we reach some middle ground (middle ground is way weighted in my favor) on that particular subject we'll do business.

Back from Barber. Fantastic two days on a world class track! It is well worth the trip! Bonus, there's a five story BEAUTIFUL museum with thousands of cool bikes overlooking part of the track .... but the track; oh what a track! Taylor made for motorcycles, breathtaking elevation changes, blind crests, smooth pavement, and 17+ turns on each 2.4 mile lap. NESBA did a great job both days and I highly recommend their track days. I was in the intermediate group both days and learned much about my bike and the track. I got a couple of "thumbs up" from control riders and a "you're nice and smooth with good lines" comments so I just worked on incrementally upping the speed each session. My corner speeds were very competitive but I got eaten alive on the straights (no surprise there, but not bad for a dirt bike). The HP2 ran perfect all weekend and I flogged it! Here's a few pics, enjoy:

Yeah - That is how I planned our trip to WV. Neat feature that helps you plan time and distance runs between the long run. We had a great time. I posted some pictures on the WVSC ride thread.

U4-JimR,

Painless wiring harness for a '77 Chevy SWB 1/2 ton, 2 wheel drive, big block -- will it cover all my bases? I have some extras that'll need some connectivity so need some intelligent device on a replacement harness. Advise if you have the time. Thanks!

G2

I know it's not a Buell, but it's my very favorite cage (and it's a pretty sick ride to boot.)

Greg-I will check into that 2morrow. I'll be at the Zone after school lets out and I'll post up what I find. Outta 17 years being with the business, can'tsay I have ever sold or ordered a wiring harness. Now ask me how many customer cars I've seen that needed it and that conversation would last days!!!!!!!!1 Post back up tomoorow night.

Mike, that suspension looks a lot better in those shots!! I take it the boots DID help?!!

Thanks Jim! Yea, after multiple major surgeries I've found it's easier, and normally cheaper in the long-run, to just take it all out and start over.

Glenn, That's really slammed : ) Is the rear end notched and flipped? I'm a small block fan myself and the truck will eventually have one in it (another project that hasn't quite reached completion.)
