What our friend is neglecting in his story is how I pushed the bike out of the back yard to keep the noise down. And when his Doc didn't contact him about the details of the out0of-balanc-ness, who does he ring? That's right. Other than being the local wingnut, NUTS is good for instant medical advice. One call placed to the Mrs. Dr. NUTS and Jackie's pressures were somewhat relieved.

He did sound in much better spirits last night. Scarlett got a makeover in the basement and Fogorn got his face clean torn off! Prepping for the Superbike bar install with addition of braided steel lines! Maybe a new set of Avons if the cash holds out. Gone to get some pics for ya fellas.

Hey Nuts

Any interest in a 1994 BMW K75 with 33,xxx miles? Extras, not much just a set of BMW hard bags. Would be a good economical touring bike as opposed to the lifeless v or wee strom

Jackie,
Feelin' better, bro?

I've got a question...
How come all of the dealers I've been to, don't seem to want to sell a bike?? I only want a little one.

Actually, one was pretty cool, and hooked me up with an inspection on the spot.

BUT...
they are in "temporary shelter"(tiny warehouse w/no a/c).

They had a TON of bikes/ATV"S stuffed in said shoebox.

And it seems that they liked the one bike I could get on (new 06' DR200) WAAAY more than I did. Sticker= $3995, knocked down to $3795, plus tax/title/tags/etc = $41xx......FOR A LEFTOVER 2006?????

Nobody else even has any mid-level dual sports. They are either 80cc kids bikes(not legal), or 400-650cc+ skyscrapers.

Dang, sorry that turned into a bit of a rant.

The Classified Cruiser

p.s.Rant On(again)...
I stopped in at a well known dealer today, and despite the fact that I pulled in TOWING A TRAILER(another story), I still could not have attracted a salesman if I had $100 bills glued all over me.

O.K., I'm done.

Soo, How's everybody doin'??

Our dear friend is quite ill. I saw him several days ago and he was less than well. I hope to not be stepping on toes but... As far as i can tell Torts realized the Buell has been sitting in the basement unridden for a while. I believe he accumulated 400 miles all of last year. The summer season here is a bit too hot for our friend and with his understandable insistence on not getting the bike the slightest bit wet; he decided to let it go. I can't say as I blame him. Between the heated season, family time, dirt biking and preparing for the ever-looming hunting season he has a full plate. He decided wisely to drop the one hobby that was the most expensive and least practiced. I sure hope my rendition of what's going on Jackie, hasn't brought back that dormant "thin skin."

As for NUTS....Tires on FoghornLeghorn are toast! Heading over for a set tomorrow. I'm going to get a set that's black and round and puncture resistant! NUTS

Howdy fellas'!
Yep the bee is going bye bye. She has sat in the basement all year and had a grand total of 250 miles put on her this year. Just doesn't justify keeping her around and paying the taxes and insurance on her.
The dual sport is really what sealed the deal. These things are so much fun it is ridiculous. I bought it towards the end of March and have over 1000 miles on it just from riding trails or to them when we don't trailer directly to the trailhead.
Lots of thought has gone into it but I have created what I am calling my "two year plan for land". If all goes well I will hopefully own a little (or medium sized if I'm lucky)slice of heaven by December 09'.
Since hunting has always been the one constant in my life I figured I would take the plunge to secure my future hunting career.
Don't worry though, me and Nuts will still meet you here so we can discuss our adventures and mishaps whether it be riding, fishing hunting or whatever new scheme we can come up with .

That's all good, Jackie. Good luck with that acquisition.

I guess this means that I will HAVE to have a D/S in the trailer when I roll out that way in a month.
Got a line on a well kept 90' DR250s, stay tuned.

Tank,
If my liver enzymes don't improve there may not be any riding for me. Last check showed levels 4 times the normal amount. Instead of going down they actually doubled since the original elevated values showed up during my illness.
Next blood screen is on Thursday so hopefully will have some good news to share.

Jackie, Hang in there bro. We're with ya in spirit.

Looks like I'm going up toward DC to pick up a bike this weekend, again.(haven't I told this story before??)

Here's a link to the Craigslist ad:

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/mcy/388396460.html

and a pic I stole from the ad:

What do ya'll think? Am I crazy?
I hope I can reach the ground. Specs I found say the seat height is very close to a stock Firebolt, and I do ok on that.

Tank,
fine looking steed!
You should do fine after getting used to it. Wait until you see how I have to get on the XR.
Just make sure when you come to a stop that the ground is level and there are no holes on the side where you put your foot down (I learned that one the hard way ).

I want to upstage NUTS!

When I ride up, and slide to a stop, I will dump it on it's side on purpose!hehehe

I know that I could never upstage the great NUTS, but it would be fun trying.

I'm actually surprised NOT to hear a story of a BIG Chicken taking a nap.

What a tale of woe it was to huh? Have you ever seen anything like that in your life before? I coulda' lost an eye or something!
I kindly left out the part where you had to sit on a bench all dejected because your new rest wouldn't work .
Anyways, now you have your answer so the choice is a new setup or a new rest. I somehow think I already know what the outcome is gonna be. After seeing those 35 yard shots yesterday you are probably feeling compelled to go out and buy the latest, greatest technology that you can get your grubby paws on in a feeble attempt to match my arrow slinging prowess.
Save your money there ain't no game left up there anyway. Gonna be a bad hunting year I can feel it .

What a BEAST of a motorcycle!!!

I can't believe the throttle response on this BEAST.

Just think about cracking the throttle, and the back is spinnin'. Throttle steer works perfect! Saved me once already.

And I was worried about the height...
It has Kouba #3 links already installed. Just need to slide the tubes up the tree a bit.

Did I mention that it is KICK ONLY! I busted my shin on the footpeg on the first kick.(wearing shorts, of course..lesson learnt') I kicked a few times after installing pants and boots, only to realize that the key was off. Next kick made a joyous thumpity-thump. And the dude said she is "cold-natured"??

She aint purty, but she sure pleases...

SWEET!!
Looks like we are gonna get some trail riding in after all.
I hope I ain't overstepping my boundaries here but it looks as though we may have Ole' Nuts along with us as well.
I am giving second thought to selling the Bolt' so we may get a road ride in as well if I decide to keep her.

Charlie/Tank,
Ask Nuts to tell ya'll about how his tire change went. That is all I am gonna say about the matter .

Well, that's good(bad) news.

I wouldn't ride a bike into Tenn. right now unless a West VA Sherrif caught me with his daughter/cousin/sister-in-law/all of the above.
And even then, we might be able to work it out over some fine home distillery product.

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.(if I aint too busy floggin her)

p.s. Soooo Nuts, how bout that tire change???

Oh,
I forgot to mention that once again me and Eagle Eye Annie outfished Nuts and No Luck Chuck.
The creek was so warm it felt like bath water, the water was murky and the bait was dying as soon as it hit the water. Despite all this I still managed to catch the most fish and the biggest.
And so the legend of "The Master Of All Things Outdoors" continues.
Its hard work being this good at everything I do .

Winch from rafter, ratchet strap to subframe, balancing on the sidestand works great. Unless you winch the arses up too high. Then Foghorn Leghorn got tired and decided it was siesta time. Why do I keep getting these narcoleptic bikes? NUTS

As usual Jackie is proving to be quite scatter-brained. Buy/sell/keep/Buell/ XR/ just too many choices I guess. That Buell is a looker though!

Nuts,
Da*ned if you aren't the kettle calling the pot black when it comes to selling, trading, etc. bikes.
I thought when it came to those Honda's, the way you changed tires was to flip them over on the handlebars and seat and go at it. I'll bet "Foghorn" was a pretty sight hanging there with all of his private parts showing.
I have to hand it to you though, since you moved to Va. and the first time I met you. The amount of experiences you have consumed and lived to tell about them is amazing.I'm impressed. But in the wildlife dept. you were leaning from the master.Charlie

Tank, I'm using motocross style boots, lighter gloves, I have MX pants and I rock the Darien Light Jacket over it all. I have the now infamous "Smut peddler" helmet topping it off. Looking to get a compression jacket for the heated months though. What is your itinerary again? Arrival, departure etc...

I certainly have gained a great deal of experience Charlie. It is said you can never learn enough and I sure am glad to have learned this little bit. How long you reckon it would take me to dump a trike?

If your talking an off road three wheeler, your going to need to practice some major body english. And keep the back end loose in the turns or it's gonna flip on you. They are a lot of fun, but you have to stay on your game every second. It's gonna be hard riding Foghorn with your arm in a cast............Charlie
