I just reevaluated & re-did my breather... Used a mini air compressor filter as a catch can and mounted it to the oil cooler bracket with a pipe hanger.

It's sad that Home Depot has better parts for my bike than any HD dealership!

I'll meet you guys up there then I guess. There are a couple of more guys that were interested in going with me. I was planning on leaving my house at the same time that we do normal rides on, a little before 8am. I figured that we would have an easy day of it and get home in the late afternoon/evening.

What time are you guys planning on coming home/being home?

Right now I'm not planning on seeing home until around 8pm...

Powermedic1 - DO NOT LET A DEALER TOUCH YOUR BIKE!!! Unless you have warranty work to be done...and then give it a good going over when you get it back (we think this is why Jim just blew his front plug last week in NY). There is plenty of technical know-how in this group to help you with most anything. If you don't have it yet I could lend you the tech book - I have the same bike...but consider buying one so you always have it on hand. The 1K service is pretty easy - engine/primary oil, filter (the dealer has sold me the wrong one twice...), clutch adjustment and you'll probably want a TPS reset - either Eric or Jim can set you up with that.

One other thing...try to get through your 500 miles before you hit the highway this weekend - proper break in is very important.

OK...two more things...start looking at new tires...we're all riding the Pirelli Corsa 3 - all swear by them...I just got mine on last week and holly h#ll is it a difference.

...and we'll help you change your tires as well. Er, when I say "we" I mean we've got a couple of guys with the skills and the tools. All you gotta do is show up with beer and a good attitude.

Local dealerships are good for two things: ridiculing the Harley butt-jewelry and buying Buells.

So it's starting to look like folks want to sleep in. I'm up at sunrise no matter what, so let's just nail this bitch down already...

There is a place in North Hampton on Rt-1 that is on a little grass airport. You can sit outside and the food is pretty good.
If that sounds good, look up directions to Seacoast Harley and we can meet there as it is easier to find but only a couple hundred yards away. Call me when you are in Amesbury and I can ride out.
Or we can meet at my house and get breakfast up the street in that 1st town we went through.....

I like option 2: meet at your place and get chow up the road.

Jim- what's the earliest you can get up to Amesbury?

Well I guess that it will take me ~2.5 hours to get to Amesbury, if I leave ~7:30ish I should be there about 10. I may have a couple of Harleys and a Triumph with me.

JPB...... That's what time I was expecting to get home as well. I don't see a reason to beat myself up just for a ride. Like I said I'll just meet you guys up there if you guys want to meet that early. no big deal.

No problem Jim...I wasn't trying to bust your balls or anything...

So, the final group meet will be at Scotts breakfast place up the street from him...

Scott - can you post a map link for everybody so they know where to go to catch up with us...

Hey Guys we should plan on going up Mt Washington auto road at six pm so we can hang up ther a bit and be the last to go down, this is the only safe way to ride fast down, have not ridden fast up and would like to do that and at six it might be posseble but we do not want to get stuck behind cars, the last time I had to keep doing clutch action to stay behind a car because they go so slow, but there are the vans that take people up there to so going up have to be carefull with them I am sure they have radios and might cause a proublem if we ride fast up, but going down is another storie, it would be nice if we can go down with not any cars on the road to get in are way.

Yeah, a link to your choice of breakfast joints.

It's better to meet a restaurant than your house because we can chow down while waiting for any possible stragglers instead of standing in your driveway staring at each other.

GOT PIPES?

Little article from SEMA about Beacon Hill's attempt to ban aftermarket exhaust systems. Altogether. Apparently without regard to how many decibels you're pushing.

I think it's horseshit, because MA only passes fagola laws like this if CA does it first. Just check the decibels on the yearly exam and be done with it.

I'm good at takin' stuff apart. And losing most of the parts. And stripping the heads of the screws. And using the wrong tool. And losing tools. And smashing fingers. And swearing.

And then half-assing it all back together again with bailing wire and duct tape.

I don't think i want to do Mt.Washington.....certainly not after 6p.The Auto road is sounding kooky.I see great twisties Scott's area capped by .....Bear Notch perhaps as rough it gets. Then the Kank to 175 should be a long enough day..So i may break away from you guys' after N.Conway.Although,i'll do it if it's early

Ok, I haven't eaten here, but it is easy to get to and the food sounds good. Ex. 11 off of RT.-101 then north on RT-108 will get you there (but feel free to use the link as needed).
For you guys coming to my house 1st - it is just a few minutes away and close to the little twisties we started the last ride on....

Ustorque - don't not come because of MTW...if it's the go fast thing - I'm always at the back...we do all ride our own rides and catch each other up at the end of the road.

I'm in on doing MTW earlier that latter for two reasons; 1. better chance of getting up the mountain 2. it's kind of scary enough in a car...let alone on a bike. I'll go up at any time but certainly will not be in the go fast group...

I agree JP & Greg, if the weather is good, I'm up for the ride up MTW, but there are plenty of roads in the area that are fast enough! I Just enjoy the ride up and down the mountain and the view. Sorry Mike but (I have) no need for speed on the Auto Road, so no need to wait until 6....
Cadillac Mountain up in Acadia ME is better suited for sport riding than MTW...

Hey guys I never said this was a race it is a rush to hit the throtle and have that kind of excelleration I would like to have on flat land, and by doing it late there are no cars going down, I do not want to see anyone get hurt and I am not going to be a nut I gave that up along time ago, I do not know why but the first time going up I was nervous but something happend to me on the way down and was on my bagger and went down pretty fast for most people but not the racer thing, I just like to go down at a nice pace without cars getting in my way, I will check out cadillac mountain there are no places I know of to go fast with out getting a ticket and mount washinton has no speed listed so I take advantage of it and hate being behind cars, I do not own one and do not like them and hate it when they are in front of me, I like to have the road to my self and this is the one place I no that if I wait long enouph I can go down with no cars on it, so do not feel like we have to go up there it was only a suggestion and if no one is comfortable with doing it that is fine with me, I go with the flow and like to follow others like last weekend it was realy fun for me and did not know what to expect meeting you guys but I had alot of fun and want to do it again, so I will follow and go with the flow. Mike
