Bib,
I don't know how familiar you are with Seattle, so if you want, pick the place and I'll be there. We can meet at Safeco Field if that works for you. There is also a McDonalds at the Ferry terminal in Seattle and it's pretty easy to find. Espresso joint upstairs in the terminal if McDonalds does not work for you. I'll be coming off that ferry from Bainbridge Island. Anyway there are two suggestions, or just tell me where you want me to be. My cell# is 206-240-1065

I think I've forgotten how to ride a bike! Between the weather and a gazillion chores and projects. Can't wait to get a break. And the weather forcast for later this week is for temperatures in the high 20s. (That's a good thing, y'all.)

YES! I got everything today, and just got back from a shake-down run. Nothing new is leaking, and nothing fell off!
So, new tires, new throttle and cables, new oil, a couple of gaskets, a few zip-ties... I'm ready for SPLASH!

Any Canadians not coming Thursday night needs to take off there Skirts and suck up the Sac and make it happen.

Deb is riding the Friday ride but I am not. (SUCKS) I will be in Woodland Friday late afternoon. RIDE SAFE!!!!!

I'm not sure of any landmarks in the Seattle area. If there is an exit with a coffee shop or something we can meet you there. I just picked Safeco as it looks close to where the ferry terminal is. Anywhere along I-5 will probably work. We will be meeting up with Galen and crew farther along a bit.

Hey all!

Chris, thanks for the compliment! Our ~800 post dont stack up to your ~5600, but it feels good to be out of the mud pile! Worked out well that your remain our neighbors directly north too!

What is the quick lowdown of the Ride around St. Hellens? Is this a camping opertunity Friday night in Woodland? Is this a break neck pace or could I manage a pileon? Supposed to go camping this weekend, but might be able to modify plans a bit : )

Borrowedbike,

Check the "10th Anniversary SPLASH Ride" link for complete details, it's the 5th one down on the Storm Fronts Page. The only camping in Woodland I know of is an RV park about a mile from Horseshoe Lake, I don't have a number or address but Mginbend has stayed there in the past, shoot him a message, maybe he can help you out. Also, motels in Woodland are listed in the "Archive through June 21, 2007" on the SPLASH page.
The pace of the ride is great question and should be asked by anyone going on a ride with a group they are not familiar with. We strongly encourage to everyone to ride at a pace they are comfortable with. There will be some Rock'n an Roll'n at the front of the group and your basic sightseer's (Loni) toward the rear. Riders with passengers are anywhere in between. The lead group will stop at all major direction changes and wait for the end of group (Loni) to arrive before continuing on.

Hope to see you this weekend,
Chris

(I'm going to be in so much trouble)

CAP, waiting to hear final plans of Canadians. I'm thinkin' we will meet somewhere right off the freeway in Tacoma.. Starbucks on the 72nd st exit.

Galen,
Are you going to be at the Starbucks around 11:00?

Paul,
I'll try you on your cell when we stop for gas.

Yes! Debbi is leaving Fri early to catch the Shotgun ride, but I'm riding down with you crazy guys. The Starbucks is on the left side of the freeway, off the 72nd. st. exit. It's kinda a weird exit; hang on the left split, then get in the right so's to be going right at the intersection, you will then come to 72nd. and another right. Now yous go over the freeway, and Starbucks will be on the left.

Paul, see above! If it turns out the Seattle meeting dosen't jell ( it can be a big, confusing city), just putt down I-5 and meet me at the coffee shop.

Galen's cell is (253) 279 7489. Of course if I'm riding 'Old Noisey' I won't have a clue 'till I stop that ya's called... but I won't be traveling far from my crib to the designated meeting area where I will break radio silence and attempt communication...

Loni, you are a wonderful woman!... but Chris was crackin' me up!

It's a little past midnight with a big a*s*s moon shinein', down and I'm going for a little night ride... I like it in the dark.

sooner (really), Galen

Hello All,

I've had a couple of folks asking what's up so I thought I better post to let all of you know that I am still alive. I would have loved to have made the splash ride with all of you but I was off putting some big miles on the bike.

I made the run down to MotoGP, tried to look you up Sir Buellnuts but I couldn't find your number. It would have been good to have had a beer with ya'. Wow, that was a spectacular event and ridin' the bikes to Cannery Row was crazy.... soooo many cool bikes.

After MotoGP I spent the last week just traveling around California, Oregon, and finally Washington. The traffic in So Cal is horrendous!!! Santa Monica doesn't suck. Lane splitting rocks! Highway 36 west out of Red Bluff is a must do road.... most excellent. Surprisingly, the park road through Sequoia NP was great. Due to long delays by construction there was very little traffic. I was able to get to the head of the line at the point where they were only letting groups through once an hour so I had open roads in front of me after that.

I replaced the Buell Ulysses with a big pig BMW GS. The GS is no Buell but it sure eats the miles and I can keep up with the wimpy sport bike riders plus I can actually scrape hard parts on it. I'm looking for a real sport bike to park in the garage along side the other bikes to satisfy that other itch though. I'm thinking of something that would make a good track bike but would also be good for rides like SPLASH and Border Raid. I like the odd bikes, maybe an XB9.... Any suggestions?

Hope all you nuts had a great time at SPLASH and there were no mishaps this year. I am hoping to make Border Raid again this year and getting the chance to see everyone again.

Be safe all!

Ron
