well no riding today for me, detent plate in the tranny fell off as the clip that held it on just fell off and was destroyed, so a trip to smithfield for a primary gasket, shifter shaft seal, detent plate, retaining clip, and some sport trans should take care of the issue, probabally has been an issue for awhile but just really noticed it bad yesterday. Will post pics later of the carnage in the primary case

Oh and Hey Ferris did your ears burn today? er I recounted how BOB's floor boards are sooooo thin on the outside edge. After the "light show" you put on on the way back to Franklin.
Runor has it that you are faster yet with D aboard.

3C great to see you all again! lets do this again soon.

My first group post and the new Firebolt couldn't make it. At least I got rid of those horrid chicken strips on the left side of the new rear tire!

I had a great time meeting everyone today and look forward to many more outings!

Later,
cell (aka Lee).

Today was a fun day! It came together rather well considering it really wasn't "planned".

Oldog & Cyclone - good to see you both again.

1313 - I like your new helmet! Good to see the S2 back on the road.

Cell - nice to meet you!

Noseed & Angela - nice to meet both of you as well. I hope you had fun and that D2 sleeps well tonight!

The group at the store

The group with the C3 Sign

Odd man out!

The Uly ran great today. You'd never know that just 3 months ago the insurance company decided that this bike was a "total loss". What do they know?

Creeker - I am planning on the WV ride. What are your plans for the weekend?

It came together rather well considering it really wasn't "planned".

Spontaneity is good!

Odd man out!

I've been called worse - LOTS worse! Just not today, yet - so it looks like you will win the prize.

What do they know?

They got you by the cojones. They can charge you what they want (especially in this state). They're great - as long as you keep paying them and don't need anything from them. Don't get me started!!! They are part of the new Mafia - credit card companies, cell phone companies, insurance companies and a few others I'm sure come to mind...

Speaking of Mafia...
An interesting thought popped in my mind. Why doesn't the Mafia put a hit out on Osama Bin Laden?

Sorry, didn't mean to get all political...

Anyways, it was a FUN day - let's do it again!

How cool is it that we have 3 moderators who regularly frequent Carolina Corner Carvers?

Could I get one of them to move some of the links at the top of this page into the archives? We have so many sub threads that they are taking up a lot of screen space. : )

Thanks, Jim

We went out with some ADV guys last night:

I let one of them ride my Uly. He got on it and then asked me what was wrong. "Is it supposed to feel like that?" I didn't know what he was talking about and told him it was fine.

He seemed to like the bike. I saw him make a U turn in the street, which is an impressive feat your first time on a Uly. He got back and said "Wow, thats like riding a 50 caliber machine gun." I still had no idea what he was talking about.

Then he let me ride his bike. It was a 1982 Suzuki IL4. Wow, it was so smooth. I know why people talk about the Harley shake now. That was my first time on something that wasn't a twin. I rode Rachael's Boxer before, and it was a lot smoother than a V-twin, but not as smooth as the IL4.

Jim - I've moved the main thread chatter into an archive. I also moved some of the dated threads and "new to NC" that haven't had much activity in a while into a new folder "New to NC and Dated Threads". I'll try and remember to watch for when this needs to be cleaned up. If not, remind me!

Thanks Kristi.

Good Job Mark.

Thats right, you have the hydrolic clutch. Hope thats not too much of a pain to adjust.

Hmm. I don't know that it's your kind of bike, but I think we could make the argument that you need something with:

quote:

HVA (Hydraulic Vacuum Assist) Slipper Action clutch features hydraulic actuation from the hand control with assistance from engine vacuum for lighter clutch effort. The vacuum assist also produces the same effect as a ¡§slipper¡¨ clutch for more controlled engine braking during high-speed downshifts.

I'll tell Laura.

It was nice to get that many Buell rider's together at one place and one time on that quick of a notice.

Hey Ulyrider, welcome. Greg (Bigdaddy) is in Maiden. There are some other out by Asheville.

C3 is just the people that hang out on this webpage. You're here, so you're part of the group now. : ) We occasionally get together to do things. I think I next gathering is Buelltoberfest in Suches, GA. Kristi (Ulywife) organizes most of these events.

Hey Ulyrider,

I saw that bike at Tilley's,,,,,what's the tail section mod on it? I was there doing something else and didn't have time to check it out.

You can't be very far from me -- Pumpkin Center with a 28650 mailing address. We can ride.

Greg, I used to live just outside of pumpkin center on E. Maiden Rd. I'm on Startown Rd near the lincoln county line now. I'd like to get together sometime to ride......I'm not sure about the tail section.

The Girl found this. She suspects this is the elusive girl who can suck the chrome off a tail pipe.

quote:

A 27-year-old lady presented with persistent cough, sputum and fever for the preceding six months. Inspite of trials with antibiotics and anti-tuberculosis treatment for the preceeding four months, her symptoms did not improve. A subsequent chest radiograph showed non-homogeneous collapse-consolidation of right upper lobe. Videobronchoscopy revealed an inverted bag like structure in right upper lobe bronchus and rigid bronchoscopic removal with biopsy forceps confirmed the presence of a condom. Detailed retrospective history also confirmed accidental inhalation of the condom during fellatio.

Not too safe sex, huh?

Spike - I am looking into going to VIR. I will have to see, but I want to see the 1125R in person. What I do not know is if I will go out on the track. The M2 is in no condition and I do not want to put the Uly on the track since I just got it back up and going. So I will probably ride up and spectate.
