Nuts,
Best I remember the stars where just an added attraction, although having kids is a distant memory. You may have to cut back on the long distance riding or you may whined up working with only a starter pistol.. When it comes to kids(love-um)but enjoy your freedom while you can......Charlie

I had a long, meaningful post typed up. But I read it and I couldn't even understand it.

Basically ride safe and pay attention. They are out to get us.

Nuts,
I figured it out...
Your pops looks just like our ex-neighbor. Spittin-image. He sold the house and moved to South Naggs Head when he retired. Cool cat, just like your pops. Tell him I said hey!

Tonight brings a renewed lust affair with the Bolt'.
I reset the suspension, Nuts added some air to my tires and we hit the rode up to Mabry Mill. I gotta tell ya' the thing felt like it was on rails and purred like a kitten. Stopped to get a bite to eat and I'm pretty sure that the two waitresses were flirting with me and Nuts because of us being the only sport riders in a sea of cruisers. I called dibs on the blonde with grey eyes but Nuts ushered me out before we could get into trouble.
On the way back we stopped at Bent Mountain to rest our butts and THAT'S when it happened. A dude that was pulled over on his Honda CBR walked over and said "What kinda' bike is the yellow one". Didn't even pay Jasons' bike a courtesy glance! He then proceeds to carry on about how awesome it is and he is thinking of trading his Honda in on one. Needless to say I was king of the world after that.
We then rolled into town and stopped at the local convenience store to snag some snuff and while sitting there every car that pulled in was checking out the mighty Yellow Jacket.
To sum it up I don't think any other bike is going to draw the attention that I so desperately and pathetically seek.
SHE IS HERE TO STAY!

Way to go Jackie,
I told ya those Firebolts have major sex appeal. What was Nuts reaction to all that? Well at least he has that SMOOTH ride, even if they don't notice the "Chicken Hawk" Maybe some "Foghorn" decals would help and some handlebar streamers.Sorry Nuts, sometimes I just can't help myself...........Charlie

Charlie,
I think it works out pretty good because Nuts really isn't an attention slut like myself. He truly has no desire to be noticed and reaps all of his enjoyment from the ride itself. I on the other hand enjoy the ride but also enjoy pulling over just to hang out and have people look or ask questions.
Unfortunately vanity is a major flaw of mine in addition to being loud and sometimes abrasive. Nuts has helped me improve on the abrasive part but the others are a lost cause .

Nuts,
Finished up the game schedule tonight and SURPRISE I find out I have a meeting Tuesday and Wednesday evening to discuss the closing ceremonies. Looks like the madness won't be over for two more days.
The win tonight brought the season total to 14 wins and 1 loss with 70 runs scored by my team and only 23 runs scored by the other teams.
Pretty pleased with the final stats but still ain't getting sucked into coaching next year!!

Charlie,
Thanks for the good words! For the past 7 years I have taken great pride in all my girls, watching them go from small children with no skills to young ladies who can hold their own against the very best and usually prevail. Unfortunately they have reached an age where hormones are taking over and mood swings happen in an instant. This was the first year I have actually spoken to a girl out of anger which tells me it is time to let them move on.
On a personally satisfying note several of my girls swept a local competition involving softball skills. They won 1st, 2nd and 3rd in EVERY event beating out over 300 other contestants. It was a complete shutout with no other contestant other than my girls placing in the top 3 spots !
It was a good chapter in my life but all good things must come to an end .

I am getting somewhat excited about the prospect of at least a few more years of riding, hunting, fishing and Wendys' !

Well, I never did get FoghornLeghorn out to WVa today. Ended up spending the day off with wifey and then out to Carvins Cove for a little crank cycling. After running across 13 different deer and innumerable squirrels I turned for the truck. While approacing the last major obstacle I happened upon two other cyclists: the first was a boy of about 12 who I encouraged as he climbed against gravity, roots and shale rock. He was followed by what must have been his mother. She was wearing a dress, stockings and a hair retainer in the Amish fashion under her helmet. She was piloting a Santa Cruz "Blur" that retails in the $2k+ range. Whoda thunk? Needless to say, I was mesmerized for the entire ride back. That is all for today. Tomorrow I'll show Foghorn a new state and then take "Scarlett" for a good thrashing.NUTS

Charlie, ChickenHawks do not have any natural predators: regardless of state boundaries.

Nuts,
Chicken Hawks do have a natural predator,MAN with LONG FIRE STICK. And you know everybody in WV has a firestick. Better put some flag decals over that super hawk.
Tank,
Hang in there buddy, things will change as long as the sun keeps coming up. Maybe not as fast as we want, but every thing changes eventually. If the light goes out at the end of your tunnel, maybe your in the wrong tunnel. Not real sure what that means, read it on a bumper sticker about forty five years ago, never forgot it. You got friends, just keep pulling the plow bro.......Charlie

Thanks guys.
I appreciate it more than you know.

After 39 years of hard work and successful planning for the future, my Dad told my mom yesterday that he wants a separation.

Word on the street is that pops has someone "waiting" up there. Something smells fishy, though. He's the "new kid on the mountain", and everybody up there thinks he's loaded.(though he really isn't)

I guess you are right, Charlie. Nothing lasts forever.

I don't know what to do or, what to to think, or what to make of anything right now. This is a huge kick in the balls to the values they have instilled, and everything they have taught me. It hurts.

Thanks for listening.

Tank,
Very sorry to hear that my friend.
Hang tough and share your thoughts with your family instead of holding them in. Better to get them out with feelings of shock and sadness instead of holding them in until they turn to anger and hatred.

Even the wisest of "OLD BUCKS" can get his head turned when the scent is in the air. Maybe he'll get his head on straight before it goes to far. That greener grass can become work than it's worth. Hang in there and tell your mom to keep the extra money in a coffee can..........Charlie

That's what I did today. Took FoghornLeghorn out to see the other Virginia. Enjoyed 311 out to Paint Bank and into banjo twanging territory. We accumulated another 135 miles today and finally put it into sixth gear. Although with the amount of deer on the road I only saw 75mph once. My family is arriving tomorrow and "ole Leghorn" isn't known about yet. You think you fellas were shocked. I think Pops might thow a blood clot! NUTS

Nuts,
You would think pops would be used to your "surprises" by now. If he isn't, shame on him....
But then, we are still surprised, and we have learned to expect it.

I have an itch.

Maybe I can justify it as "stress induced".

I NEED a TW200. I don't know why, but I love that bike. Just what I need, another seat that is hard to sit on for long. I like it because it's different, and has unique abilities.

Anybody looking for an ex500 with cbr-f2 front suspension, and a questionable race motor(never heard it run)???
Must go! Free, to a good home.

Going for a ride tomorrow with a couple "cruiser" dudes. I think they want to straight-line, and I aint down with that. I'm the one with the GPS, and I can change the plan real quick. One dude doesn't ride "so well", and I'm cool with that, but he needs to learn sometime, and I feel generous

Maybe I should blow them off, and get lost. I dunno.

Tank, it might sound cheesy but...... The Beatles said; "in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." It is much more gratifying to give than it is to selfishly indulge. Give those cruiser dudes a chance to enjoy the ride. Dropping the hammer in anger usually results in a broken toe! PM me your addy, I've got something here that might help. NUTS
