Jerry, this thread is begging for you:

cool, they exhausted every other possible _______ Worship subject on Jo Momma, and FINALLY got around to Ferris Worship!!!

myself, i still prefer good ol' camel toe worship, but i WILL say i've got FBDO on DVD, and it IS one the greatest movies of all time.

my fave comment from the three minutes i just lost crawling around in the dumpster that is JM: "I'm one of the few on the planet who don't get ferris."

me too, bubba, me too.

Ferris : )

I crawled in the Dumpster for "a hot second". That was enough to last the week.

Corsa III's get to the tire changing place tomorrow. And I might make the DMV while it happens, to buy plates.

Called my friendly(and sexy sounding on the phone) Harley insurance agent this week. She was very nice and I am covered.

Just gotta' finish the glass.....

I hope you guys don't get tired of the pictures.

Me and Nuts went on a 123 mile adventure today which saw a mix of pavement, hardpack, gravel, creek crossings and mud holes.
Started off heading up 311 which took us to Wildlife Rd.. Followed that for about 10 miles and then came to a junction in the road. We chose to make a left and proceeded to run into creek crossing after creek crossing. Some were deep and wide while others were pretty easy, but ALL were FUN.
Here is our friend Nuts barreling through the last one.

We then stopped to rest our butts after 45 miles of non stop pounding.

Once we got back on the road we reversed routes and ran down the right hand branch off of Wildlife Rd. which dropped us somewhere north of Daleville. After Nuts got us lost we finally managed to stumble into Fincastle and stopped for a Petrol break.

We then rolled up to Patterson Creek and proceeded to run into more creek crossings and mud traps. After about 8 miles of dodging boulders and ruts we came to a fork in the road and neither of us had a clue which one went where.
After a brief discussion we chose to head to the left and found ourselves travelling on a forest service road that kept getting higher and more narrow as each mile ticked by. We finally dropped out at an old OHV area in the vicinity of Eagle Rock.
Here is Nuts lounging at the junction of the roads.

The road back to 220 was pretty neat since it consists of an old railroad bed with the tracks long since removed. As you can see in the pic they pretty much just blasted through the rock to lay the track.

So, what did ya'll do today ?

So, what did ya'll do today?

Decided it would be a good day to sleep in. Dragged the pile of wheels and tires down to the Duc place(about noon), and they were very sorry but they wouldn't be able to get them in until monday. I told them I would try to get up earlier next Sat.

Oh well.

Charlie and Tank,
Nothing to be jealous about. Sounds like ya'll had just as much fun as we did .

Charlie,
I am hoping the stories and pics will force you over the edge and leave you no other alternative but to schedule an extended vacation up here this Summer.

Tank,
So are you spending more time tinkering or are you getting any riding in on the Lightning?
I rode the Bolt' the other day and what a difference between the two bikes! The Bolt' has enough torque to pull your hands off of the grips when rolling on it hard. I forgot how strong it pulls so I rode 80 miles of rolling on the gas hard and slowing down repeatedly. I even brought the front wheel up once but in all honesty it only came up about 8 inches before I wussed out.

Jackie,
It is very tempting and seeing how much fun you guys are having doesn't help. But it would be like an alcoholic falling off the wagon if I came back and spent time there. It took forever to get out of the funk I was in after I moved down here.So I'll just keep doing what little riding I get and enjoy being with the grandkids.
How long does Nuts think it's going to be before he hears something from Buell? He hasn't been out shopping for black leather fringe has he?He can't wear those red signature boots on a Fatboy.....Charlie

Charlie,
Nuts donated the big red boots to The Kazeem Shrine Circus the last time they came through the Valley . They have since been replaced with some sort of cheapo model that Sidi makes. Still cost him close to 3 big bills since they had to use two cows to cover them big feet.
I haven't really asked him how close he is to a resolution with Buell since I figured it was worrying enough without me going "so whats gonna happen" 3 times a day like I am prone to do.

Come on man, you can always get back on the wagon after a 2 week bender .

Work has been taking more of a toll on the Tank than it should. I'm not hurt, but I will be if I keep up. Very tired, and taking every chance I get to kick back.

No tinkering, and no riding makes for a grumpy Tank.

I'm too young to be this worn out, but I keep slammin'.

I saw a commercial for RVHD this evening on the TV and they showed not only the Harleys but the Buells as well. Unfortunately they did not mention the brand but did show them a few times during the clip.
Looks like our very own hometown shop is representing the brand very well indeed.

Nuts,
Whatever you decide to do will be the right thing for you, and I'm sure I speak for more than just myself when I say we're behind you no matter....(not to mention, I caught myself eyeballing a Multistrada today with 500mi for $8800...very clean).

Just stick around, dude. We so enjoy your antics. I think I met a "tame" version of the Nuts at the Gap, due to the "pops and cops crash fest"(no offense), but still a great time.(they liked that hot tub a bit too much, I think.)

Anyhoo, on the other side of the state..

I finally dropped the whole wheel/tire deal off at the Duc dealer this morning, and the dude was all over how "kool" those amber wheels looked with the new rotors and Vortex sprocket. What I love most about the place...the first question he asked was Buell specific, making sure the rear sprocket runs on the right side!!! I answered, "yessir, front rotor on the right, back is backwards".

They are busier than a...(well you get it). That time of year. I pick them up on Monday.

Yet another note....
I had some "grilled shrimp" for lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse the other day. They were pretty good; a bit overdone, and too much garlic for me. So, in true Bueller fashion, I figured I could "make it better", and I did just that. I hate peelin' shrimp, but I did, and I did, and I did......I hate peelin' shrimp.

I even did a little celebration dance in the kitchen cause' they turned out freakin' rightous!!! Maybe a bit spicy for Jackie, but they don't have to be. It's all in the grilled flavor.(I should have peeled more, but...)

Oh, and I patched a few more holes in the "glass" today. Almost ready to find a deal on some high build primer(that I'll have to sand most of it off).

That junk aint cheap???
I hadn't planned on spending as much as it might cost to properly finish this fairing.

Maybe I'm spoiled, having learned to re-finish furniture. I want everything tabletop smooth, or better.

Tank,
Doesn't that glass have a coat of gelcoat on it? I somehow imagined it was prepped much like a fiberglass boat. Guess I was off on that one!
I do love me some shrimp however, as with most things I like, I am HIGHLY allergic to them.
Still trying to figure out if a 5 pound lobster is worth a shot of Epinephrine and 4 bags of fluid in the E.R. to get my bloodpressure back up to the "compatible with life" side.
As far as Nuts being "tame" at the Dragon, he comes across as laid back. He is more subtle with his deviousness where I just throw it right into your grill. Just ask Ole' Nuts about me whacking his brother in the head with a 3 1/2 ft snake when we were catching bait for a fishing trip. I found it extremely amusing although I don't think his brother found it quite so hilarious

The deal is done and NUTS is officially Buell-less. In the end it was an extremely difficult decision, but after weighing all the factors, being relieved of the Uly was the best route. I am extremely enamored with Buell and everything they have done for me as a motorcyclist and a consumer. Our dealer has been a treat, handling the deal professionally and without pressure or judgment. Zach, Travis, Keith and Seth all have tolerated my complaints with aplomb. They never questioned my concern; just got to work on a solution.

Opting out of a brand new 2007 Uly allows me to keep Buell as an option for my next big purchase. I feel the Uly will have a high possibility of Ping factor unless it is modified from stock. If Buell brings out another bike that fits my gangliness I'll be lined up for a thorough test ride. The Uly took me places I'd never been and taught me lessons I was due to learn. 7200 miles in 9 months, through all types of weather: miles of smiles.

I have been quiet lately because I did not want to speak before my decision was solid; and it was seriously less than solid for a good while. The Honda has been a new lease on motorcycle-life at a time it was most needed. I am going to try and run "Scarlett Begonia" until next year this time. I'll be seeing you all round these parts, as long as I'm still welcome! NUTS

Yes, it does. Just like a boat. But, in places, it's not even 1/16" thick. Plus there are nicks, dings, cracks, holes here and there that are being filled and may need additional body filler to make them smooth.

Also notice the "dual blinker setup" in this "before" pic:

Those silly white flush mount things are gone, and the 1" round hole is getting patched. Along with all of the mounting holes(except mirrors and blinkers), and the holes for attaching the lower to the upper.

I figure that in the long run, paint will be easier to maintain, and fix if needed.

Went quite well.
I decided to use my daughters Ipod instead of ear plugs and that was a mistake. Something about riding and listening to White Zombie, Disturbed, W.A.S.P. and other heavy bands makes one ride to the very limit of ones' ability. No close calls but I did find myself passing car after car on Windy Gap and 581. Looking down at the speedo I realized that somehow the tempo of the song and my hand were connected .
Point of the story. No more Ipod or download some Neil Diamond and other stuff like that.
I ended up running Windy Gap 3 times and then took Boones Mill Rd back to 220. I then followed that all the way to Valley View where I putted around to see if I could make any fluffies look. Took 581 back to Colonial and parked next to the bridge at Carilion. I figured I may catch a glimpse of a friend who works there. While checking out the river I did see a few Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, a Painted Turtle and several log sized Carp which means we have gotta give Carp fishing a try in the near future.
After waiting on my friend to show I ran up the BRP to my favorite overlook and had me a snuff while contemplating the softball season.
So far we are 7-0 and have scored a total of 31 runs while only allowing 8. Sounds great but the oldest girls on the team are being quite arrogant and obnoxious. Unfortunately they are the backbone of the team and without them we fall apart.
I am left wondering whether it is better to continue winning or give them the boot and lose but have fun while we are doing it. I am truly at a loss as to what direction to take.

Nuts,
You should have came tonight man.
We played the best game I have seen in 7 years of coaching. The opposing team was the hardest team we have ever played and forced our girls to perform to the best of their abilities. The youngsters even surprised me with how much they have learned and how well they can do when they apply themselves.
Kali caught a fly ball at shortstop and then threw to 1st for a game saving double. Had to take her to the Sizzlin' for a celebration after that play .
I have never been more proud of all my girls than I was tonight.
Somehow makes the effort seem worthwhile (and no I ain't coaching again next year!!).
