If the bikes sit, big deal. The girls will have fun together and the Suburban can haul 8 of you somewhere! Carlos has a cooler of beer - make the best of it!

Hey ,I saw 2 XB12 Firebolts today. There was a Black and gold Firebolt headed to wards Goldsboro on HWY 70 West about 1230-1 o'clock. The second Firebolt was returning from Greenville way on HWY 11 south he was having a lot more fun than we were in the rain. That was the Black and Cherry Bomb XB12.He took HWY 11 south towards Pinkhill all the way out of sight.Maybee we all will meet, the Buell are growing in numbers in our area.

Later all, Webe

I also saw a blue Lightning in Greenville a month or so ago. Who knows.....maybe they are among us!

C3 is listed on the Buell webpage for area groups. The link will take them directly to C3 Storm Fronts.

Just got back from Rainey's. Had a good time despite the rain. The girls were glad to get off the bikes. They got soaked.

Discovered last night that if you aren't looking, you can't tell the difference between Carlee and TJ's voices. The girls got into a whip cream fight, which was kind of amusing.

I gotta take a nap now.

Scary how well these girls get along, and now even sound alike! Whip cream fight....glad it was the Dads with them! I think these girls might scare off any boys from ever coming to a C3 Jr. Ride!

Waiting for my 2 to get home. We're gonna go get something to eat and then back home to unload the truck and trailer.

Can't wait to see all the pictures. Thanks again to the Rainey's for hosting the C3 Jr. Ride.

Just wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone. I'm new to the area (originally from N.Va) and really feel at home in NC. It's just such a great place to ride. Thats an amazing looking XBRR Spike, nice pics. Thanks to ulywife for the heads up on this section.

JimN - do you have a service manual or parts book for your Blast? anyone have one? Mar_wilmington needs a part name/number.

I don't, but Bigdaddy does. Haven't heard much from him recently, have you Kristi?

When I need parts, I just call up appleton and tell them to send me the parts I need to do X, and a box shows up a few days later.

Which part is needed?

Which part is needed?

This was in the e-mail I received. "I was missing the circler metal
cover on the right side of the engine below the piston and airbox."

As for G2 - I got an e-mail from him after I sent out the pictures of Carlee's horse show. I have him on the list for Buelltoberfest. He hopes to make it. Maybe you and Carlos need a ride out west once the Uly is back together.

Mike - That piece is called a timing cover. I lost mine as well. It's just a press in piece of plastic on the Blast, and it will blow off.

I think the replacement part is about $4. When I lost mine, the dealer didn't have the Blast cover in stock. However, a sportster timing cover will fit over the hole, and they sell a zillion different chromed sportster timing covers. You will need 2 screws as well (chrome of course.) Take the bike to the dealership and you can fit this stuff on in the parking lot to make sure it all fits. Once you start talking about getting chrome, the sales staff gets much more excited about things. : D

Thanks a lot to Jim, Kristi, and Eric O for all the help with the timing cover. BTW if anyone else needs the OEM part number it is #32341-00YA. Think I might see what they have in a chrome since the OEM part is made of plastic and blows off (wtf HD, I expect better from them). Plus the blast could use a pinch of chrome.

This group individually might be dangerous, but collectively, we do pretty well!

At least it's a easy fix and not expensive either!

Well, I can tell my Blast has a Harley derived engine. The base gasket, the head gasket, and the rocker box gasket are all seeping oil. : (

On the up side, I bought a pair of snap ring pliers. That makes working with the snap ring on the exhaust a 5 minute difficult job instead of a 45 minute exercise in creating new cuss words.

From the Scorpion web site:

The removable, washable liner in all our helmets make it easy to clean. Even a man can do it.

I'd be offended except I'm having to get The Girl to help me.

Porch Pass

My wife is heading to the in-laws for first and second week of June with the kiddos.

Therefore, I have an extended porch pass. I am thinking of running the Gap and possibly Suches again.

Is anyone interested in hooking up and riding then?

I believe it's the weekend of the 8,9,10th of June.

Hey Jim & Kristi,

I'm still out here -- just don't have anything to say : ) Still trying to figure out what I want to do to pay the bills (I want to do nothing and make stupid money, but so far that hasn't materialized.)

I'll be doing some work in Cincinnati Thursday and Friday, Irvine CA the following week, and maybe Seattle after that, but that one isn't signed yet.

1st weekend of June we'll be doing the family ride down the BRP. We don't have any schedules so we'll most likely run through the Gap a few times and end up in Gatlinburg for the night.

I'll try to do a better job of staying in touch : (

When you find that job, I want to be your assistant! Where in Cincinnati are you heading? That's where Carlos and I met and married! Still have lots of family up there.

Safe travels and post if only to say HI!

Did you know that Snap ring pliers (today's purchase) are not the same as retaining ring pliers (yesterday's purchase?)

Hughlysses - thanks for sharing the pictures! Believe it or not, you were the first Buell we had seen all day (except the two in the rear view mirror for 400+ miles!).

I'm ready for MBV as well.
