TNT, Does anyone know if there's going to be a ride from Allen on Saturday. I got the impression there won't be.

All, Here's 2 Saturday rides and 1 Sunday ride. All rides are to the southwest. The FWMR is going on a ride that I've been wanting to take the group (TNT) on for years now. It's has just been too far south for the time we've had in the past.

1. 8:00 am Saturday

2. 9:30 am Saturday
Christian Motorcyclists Association
Hello everybody,
just a reminder about the ride to Glen Rose Saturday. We'll leave out at 9:30 sharp.
We're leaving the Cracker Barrel at I-20 and Bowen at 9:30, it's on the NW corner.
Also, the Big DFW Toy Run is this Sunday. The weather looks good, so they
are expecting 50,000 bikes! I'll be working the Ft. Worth end, at the corner of
6th and Commerce. Look me up if you come. My bike will be parked elsewhere
near the front of the parade. I'll have my cell phone (817-905-6538). They may also
move me to another work area, but I'll probably be there. If you can't go, find a spot on I-30 and be amazed at all the bikes.
See ya'll later.....Robert

3. 10:00 am Sunday
We're doing a ride this Sunday, Dec 17th. We'll leave from Eurosport Cycle at 10:00am. The ride will be about 230 miles long to the Southwest. Might go to the Hard -8 in Stevenville for lunch.
All brands and riding styles welcome. Be sure to top up close by, the first leg will be 100+ miles.
See you Sunday

Good lord! I wish I had seen this earlier! That was probably one of the cleanest, most well-kept Buells on the planet. What a steal! Please point the buyer to BadWeB so we can chastise him for his treachery.

Stay in touch Chris. You're one of the good ones. : )

Thanks, Blake.

The buyer is from Hot Springs, AR, and he's in the aviation business (a mechanic/inspector on regional jets), so I'm sure it'll be well taken care of and ridden on some of the best rural roads in the country. We're trying to work out the details so he can have it by next weekend - we'll see what we can do.

And don't worry, I'll definitely send him here!

That being said, I have a TON of stock parts, accessories, and other assorted goodies I'll be selling in the near future - keep an eye out!

Actually, after making a side deal with the buyer and selling my stock exhaust can to Kelly C., I only have a few things left!

My Crossroads 0-degree handlebars (one of my favorite mods) are still available, if anyone's interested before I put'em on eBay.

Well guys, I’m back.

January 18th, my bike was stolen from the parking lot of my apartment.

January 22nd, the cops over in Hurst, just one city over from me, caught the guy riding it at 3:36 in the morning. Surprisingly, he pulled over and they got the bike back.

That night, I forked over $169 to get my own property back. It did not run. I took it home in (and locked to) the back of my truck.

Two days later, a Geico employee came to my apartment and told me that it would take $1800 to fix it. When I asked him if he had checked to see why it wouldn’t run and taken into consideration the cost to make it go, he said, “Well, I’m not a mechanic.”

So the next day, I took the bike to Dallas HD / Buell and got their opinion. $8200.

Again, the next day, I drove back to DHDB and politely explained that their number was retarded. As in, $700 more than I originally paid for the bike. I pointed out all the damage that was normal wear and tear, i.e. not caused by the thief. We agreed on $2900 as the final number to fax to Geico.

More than TWO MONTHS later (!) , Geico finally got around to finishing their paperwork. Two months! To file a report and cut a check!

Here I should point out that during those two months (!) I called Geico at least once a day. Most of the time, I got somebody or other’s voicemail, which was never returned. I tried talking to the adjuster, who didn’t know anything past the fact that she hadn’t received the paperwork yet. I talked to the guy who came to my apartment, who didn’t know anything, ever. I talked to the guy who went to DHDB to find out why their estimate was for so much more, and while he didn’t know what the hold-up was, he was at least very courteous and returned phone calls when he said he would. I talked to both of those guys’ supervisor, and he swore at about the one month mark that he would personally take care of it. Nada. I finally got action when I got an email sent to the manager that oversees all of these people’s departments. Funny how that works. Oh, and Geico service SUCKS.

Anyhow, here we are. After nearly two weeks of being in the shop at DHDB, I got my bike back at 2:30 today. Talk about a sight for sore eyes.

So! When do we ride?

p.s. I’m getting married June 3rd and we’re having a baby in October, so I’m gonna be riding A LOT while I can.

Jonathan,
There has not been a decent Buell dealer in this area since Buell drop FW HD. They’re lazy, lying, thieves and all 3 are in the Northeast quadrant of the metroplex. Ask me later and I’ll tell you how I really feel! Why didn’t you just send the $8,200 estimate to Geico? Congratulations on the upcoming nuptials and addition.

All,
I have called Private Track Time and the promotion gal at AE HD/Buell, to find out why all the beginning and intermediate groups filled up so quickly for the Buell Track Day promotion on October 23rd. When I here something I’ll pass it on.

Hey, Chris. I'm on it as much as possible. It's WAY better for this type of riding than the r6 (which is no longer street legal anyway).

I'm a puss though. Where you guys trudged on, I turned around. The dirt doesn't bother me. Rock chips do.

I've been learning the NW portion of the Metroplex these days. It's beautiful there too.

But here's where I'll be spending most of my riding time from this point forward: http://www.eaglescanyon.com/ The junior membership spoke to me.

Have you guys been meeting up at all? Have you replaced your XB yet?

Dago,
Unfortunately, no.....

Chris has been bitten by another bug and thus I have asked to retrieve as much of the TNT info as I could in hopes of reviving a local Buell riding group.

I am trying to work something up with the group for this summer. I have been out of the state more than I care too lately. I think we have only lost a few members of the original crew (moves out of state, sold the bike, etc...).

I know you kind of retired your street riding with the group, but I would love to meet up sometime and let you show us some of the back roads you have been checking out.

I will be back in town the second week of may and will be trying to setup a ride around that time.

Ping me if you want any details...

Hey Micah,
Long time no see brother.

FYI- Last time I talked to Chris he was buying a 12SS and he said he was going to put a 12R Tail section on it. But I have not heard from him in a while.

I taking about 2 weeks off in July. The 5th thru the 15th.

Dago/Micah.. Are either of you interested in doing a track day? or anyone else?

I've been wanting to for a long time but the timing was always off but this one in on the calender..No exceptions..

I will have my parts toward the end of May.

FYI Micah, I put my bike back together because I got sick of waiting for the Micron to show up. I have not checked lately but about a month ago, there was not a Micron System in the USA. They are supposed to be here in within the next few weeks.

Let me know if anyone wants to cruise around this weekend!!!

Good for Chris. It's good to see he's still into something cool. Perhaps he post a pic up here one day to make us all jealous.

I just bought a membership at ECR, so I'm not sure how many organized track days I'll do this year. But post up when you decide on a date. MSR is always worth a visit.

Hey, DFW Buellers! Thought I'd chime in and show you my new toy...

It's a 2006 Mazda MX-5 Sport 6-speed, with full Mazdaspeed suspension, Koni Sport adjustable shocks, super light Enkei RPF1 wheels (17x7.5"), and Goodyear F1 GS-D3 tires (235/40ZR17). I've already commenced the "modding" and won't finish until I'm getting over 200 hp from the normally aspirated 2.0L 4-banger.

My wife is calling it a "four-wheel motorcycle" that she can ride in. Like my Jetta and Buell, this thing isn't the fastest in a straight line, but it handles like a dream - it's easily capable of cornering speeds I'm not willing to attempt on public roads (but I AM willing to explore those limits, if anyone needs a "chase vehicle" on one of your rides!).

I've temporarily set aside the idea of getting another bike, but that may change at any time in the future so stay in touch!

Thanks, guys!

Blake, you may have to wait for a while - I can see this car going from "daily driver" to "weekend racer" over it's lifespan!

Dago, I'm definitely doing "chevrons" on the front fenders (two small diagonal stripes from the side of the hood to the front wheelwell) in either red, dark gray, or titanium. I'm also contemplating a stripe (or two) down the center, but the jury is still out on that one - if I do it in vinyl, I can always remove it if it doesn't suit me!

BTW - I was out at TMS yesterday (Sunday) watching the SCCA road races on the track AND the SCCA Solo II event in the parking lot, when three Buellers on a Uly, an "S" and an "R" rode past me - I tried to catch them, but they got on 114 heading west too quickly.

Who was it?

I am currently in Chicago with no end in sight. It is rather a beauty here today and Tues., so I am going to rent a conv. stang and take a photo tour of the Chicago skyline. Yes, I am playing hookey from work on Tuesday to do this... SHHHHH don't tell anyone.

Anyway, I will hook up with you guys when I get back and get a ride going. Chris, I would feel honored to have you be the chase car for us. No offense to any Buellers here, but with our track record we drop at least one every ride. I think it would give you chance to hone those skillz too!

See you guys soon.

Welcome Duc. Compared to the mountains of Northern Georgia our roads will appear straight. However, Oak Hill Raceway in Henderson is a very technical track. Your best bet for weekend rides are to the southeast in the Piney Woods. Blake and Skully will be your best guide to the area and Oak Hill. If your up for a weekend trip the Ozark Mountains at the intersection of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas will make you feel at home.

Welcome to Texas! And yes, the roads are far too straight around here. But there are some very nice country roads, especially where you are.

I do track days fairly regularly. But those days will certainly decline as use my membership at Eagles Canyon Raceway more often. They're opening the track up fully within a month.

Here are a few links to help you along:
http://www.cmraracing.com/
http://www.ridesmart.info/ (my favorite track day organization)
http://www.lstd.com/ (tied in closely with CMRA)

Tracks:
http://www.hallettracing.net/ (~2 hours from dallas)
http://www.eaglescanyon.com/ (~45 mins from dallas)
http://www.msrhouston.com/ (~4 hours from dallas)
http://www.motorsportranch.com/ (~1 hours from dallas)
http://texasworldspeedway.com/ (~4 hours from dallas)
http://www.oakhillraceway.net/ (~3 hours from dallas and very close to you)

That said, I'm game to meet up for most any track day. Ping me when/if you decide on one.

Now if I could only get my bike back from Derek. (just kidding, derek) ;)

Welcome to East Texas. That is a great post by Dago. I'm skipping the July outing at Oak Hill, but am planning to make the September race there. Might do a track day before it gets too hot and again not to far from the race weekend. Will let you know.
