Not yet, but the stuff is on it's way!
I've got a couple ideas in my head about the idler, and it not wanting to stay put. We'll see how it works out.

Just going to do the R, and keep the S like it is.
I'm very happy with the S.

Tank,
Oh man I can't believe you jumped on the chain wagon. Now I may have to do mine to keep you from having the baddest Bolt' in Va. . I'm already jealous of the full fairing but I guess it works out better for me in the long run since I would be pulling it every three days to dust LOL.

Nuts,
Here are pics from the Gap. As you can see it is indeed nicely maintained. I can understand not taking the chance with the Uly but we are going to be forced to thrash the XT.
First pic shows the view going up right before the downward spiral.

Second pic is as you begin the decent. Notice the turn at the bottom. That is the point of no return since it is so steep on the backside you are pretty much committed.

This pic is sitting at the top whilst I was taking a snuff break.

And finally a view of the road showing the way you originally ascend.

I know it is all pretty lame considering the adventures you have been on but I enjoy that little run nonetheless.

No worries about the baddest Bolt'. Like I said before, she's a 20 footer. The fairing is "in primer" and rough to be nice about it.

I would never put a chain on the Low, for fear of slinging grime. But the Bolt needs more grime, I think.

Sunday is the day...
I bought a bunch of dollar store toothbrushes and big bottle of badass degreaser. I hope it doesn't melt anything.

I know it is all pretty lame...
Dude, I would slide the Low through there without a second thought.
If I had a "dirt machine", I'd be more likely to go for the bank on the side. Maybe it's better for me and machine that I don't get one.

But seriously Jackie, Looks like you are having a freakin' ball!! I'm jealous.

Ride on, brutha

Tank,
I know it is pretty lame considering the bikes potential but I'm just waiting until I have a riding buddy with me before I get in too deep.
I picture the call going something like this.
Jackie - "Hey Jason I'm up in the woods and the bike fell over during a creek crossing. Can you bring the trailer and help me get it unstuck?"
Jason - "Piss off, click"
Seriously though, I know he would be happy to come help. I called him one morning during deer season to come help me drag and he rode up after working all night to help a brutha' out. That is what I call a good friend .

It's all good if you're twistin' the grip, my friend.

Jason - "Piss off, click"
I guess that would be the ultimate "Nuttin".(I kill myself sometimes)

He hasn't posted since my first "Nut" joke...
Think he's mad at me??

I went ahead and put the brand new rotors on the "orange" rims. I can't decide if I should put a pulley or a sprocket on the back one?? I'm thinkin' sprocket. That way everything on that issue will be brand new, and I won't have to worry about it.(with the luck lately)

Nah he ain't mad. Switched his work schedule around and just taking a while to get used to it. Ole' Nuts is quite good about being poked fun at but watch out. He can surely give back as good as he gets when he is feeling frisky (or when he takes his Prozac HEHEHE!).

I'd stick to the good ole' belt system although I would upgrade it to the 06' pulley and belt. I haven't checked into the cost but shouldn't be much more (if any) expensive than the parts for the chain conversion.
Since I got the Honda I have quickly remembered what a pain in the arse chains are. Adjusting, lubing, stretch, worn sprockets and last but not least the possibility of exploded cases should it decide the break loose. If I was going to do it to the Buell I would be hard thinking of a way to install a case protector.

Tank, ya know I do enjoy a good NUTS joke! Sounds like your project might just be ready for the Sept. Track Day. Do you know if it is full yet? I just thought about squeezing my Pop into it on his Saggy Jugger. Early morning madness; I've got to battle with these kind of errant thoughts all the time. I'm NUTS!

Nuts, bring him! The more, the merrier.
I just checked. It isn't full yet(novice).
It will be interesting to see how many show that are not on Badweb.

Jackie,
Though price really isn't the issue, the chain kit is $225 +shp. The 06 belt upgrade is upwards of $400+.

Headin' out to continue my search for new and exciting pavement! Have a great day.

Lads & Lasses, I was informed yesterday that there is nothing else that can be done at the dealer level. This requires Buell to come down and see the bike or send "special" parts. I do not want to be without the bike awaiting Buell's band-aid. Extremely frustrating!

I am keeping my angst to this board so as not to kick the proverbial hornets nest, so let's keep this hushish so I can get my due. Whatever that may be. nuts

Tank,
You got that right man. Mine skin is tougher than the hide on a wild boar. Come to think of it as I get older my back is getting hairy as one too !

Nuts,
Bummer man.
Maybe they will work something out with you on the BMW adventure bike they took in on trade. A fine ride that I considered myself until I realized I didn't need two garage queens.
Seriously though, I am sure they will continue to work with you in getting the issues resolved since they have backed you up thus far.
Seth and Zach are good dudes. Not much to look at but good dudes nonetheless . (Just a joke Raven don't ban me from the store).

Man, I hate polishing.
The plastic on that sucka was worse than I thought. I took the rotary polisher to it with "the red stuff", and it took TWO HOURS on the AIRBOX COVER ALONE, before I was tired enough to say F-IT and throw wax at it. Still not happy with it, but thank Buell for the Surlyn.

I got halfway on the tail piece and my arm started tingling, and I couldn't hold the thumb switch on the polisher anymore. Left for another day.

Did I mention that I hate polishing....

Tank,
Whilst you were busy polishing we went fishing. Nuts' brother caught one, Nuts caught three and I caught SIX. As usual I am the fishing MASTA'!
Looks as though we are going to try to bag his brother a turkey in the morning and with some luck will at least get a glimpse of one.

By the way, I heard that a few frosty Coronas will greatly ease the muscle soreness that is often associated with polishing or washing a motorbike . Any truth to this rumor?

Nuts,
Sorry about your sh-t u ation. When you get tired of playing around with Buell, you remember what I told ya.
You don't think possible somebody slipped you some low test gas. Been know to happen.
So Jackie's still putting it to you in the hunting and fishing. You need to mix something in with his can of worms when he's not looking.
A doctor friend of mine said something about those little "blue pills" will cause excessive hair growth, don't know if he was kidding or not. What ya think Jackie.LOL
If you gotta take that little bike to the Dragon, you might want to think trailer....Charlie
PS......See if Buell will put you a 9 motor in the ULy. Problem solved.

Charlie,
If I could just get the hair to grow on my head instead of my back I would be a happy camper. I might have to explore the wonderful world of waxing.

Me and the brothers went hunting today and while I wasn't able to get Nuts' brother a bird, we did get four gobbles and saw him strut in a field about 150 yards out. Stubborn old bird wouldn't come near the pretty "hens" calling to him at the fenceline though .

Nuts,
Sorry I didn't give you a call this evening. Long ball practice and the problems that go along with it made for a late return home.
Give me a holler tomorrow to update me on the XT carb, gobblers, etc.

Tank,
I was always a Corona man myself. You know, the uppity snob type that MUST have a bit of lime and salt to go along with his tasty beverage. Course' when I was on a bender financial restrictions forced purchasing Olympia to reach my desired state of altered reality .

I got a 9 motor for trade, I'll spring for a 1050 kit to go with it. It's only got a measley 25k miles.
joking, of course. The bike made it this far...

Have you ever seen a 530 chain???
That's Beefy! And heavy. The sock final drive is 2.4-1. I'm shooting for around 2.57. That should rip outa' the corners like a pumpkin in the "punkin' chunkin' contest". Top speed may be an issue on the front straight at VIR, though.

Nuts,
Sorry man, keep me posted.
Tank,
That 530 will handle the load as long as you don't let it get dry. I don't think VIR is going to let you on the front straight. They usually use the shorter course for track days.
I'd take that 9 w/1050 kit any day over a 12 motor. Why do you think the XBRR uses the 9 stroke? Food for thought.
Jackie,
This is NOT from experience, but I think you better stay away from that waxing table. But if you do, we want a video.LOL.....Charlie

Actually, we are running the "north course" which is the same course the "big boys" run. Same course that the school I attended uses most of the time. 2.25 miles of smiles.

I'd take that 9 w/1050 kit any day...
Me too! Can't really justify it though, so, for now, they stay stock.

Thanks Charlie!
I love "the Rollercoaster"(downhill s's).
The instructor taught us a line and showed us a technique that allows the rider to get in the throttle through turn 14(first turn of the coaster), all the way through the bottom, and not let off until turn 1. The 3rd or 4th time I tried it, I hit the rev limiter in fifth just after the "kink" on the front straight.

After that I realized there was no reason for me to be beating on the bike that hard in "school".

Freakin' awesome fun time. You got me even more excited to go back!

I get to look forward to getting into my company truck, and working hard doing a great job(cause that's what's expected), and driving my company truck home. When I get home, there's not much energy left, and certainly not enough to get on the bike and pay attention.
