I keep an eye on the NEBO forum for rides close enough for me to make it. Hopefully, once the snow finally melts, I'll be able to make some rides.

What's up with Manchester HD? They, like most HD dealerships have removed most of the Buell accessories and apparel. They now have a couple of helmets, some shirts and one overpriced jacket. Buell needs to have stand-alone dealerships!! I told the service guy about a particular problem and some HD dude next to me kept shaking his head and frowning like I was ruining his precious HD diamond-studded image of being the "hard core" biker brand. Whatever, those dudes pay almost 20,000 dollars for their slow, heavy barcoloungers!!

Ah, I see your point! Just want to make sure I don't hit any slop or salt residue from snow-melt. That would really suck on a leaned-over turn!

Lvnlo,

Pick up your bike yet? Was it in storage or something or did you get a new one?

Agreed, I literally ride assuming that the road ahead, around the next turn IS wet and/or sandy, and ride accordingly....

Hey Scott,

I'm definitely with ya on that. I dumped my previous bike (an R6) on a slow, easy corner because some muddy run-off seeped onto the apex. Luckily, I wasn't familiar with the road, so I was behaving. I generally ride a section of road at least once in both directions to check the condition before any spirited riding. It's not worth it to push hard on the street. Save it for a track day.

The bike is nearly ready to come out of hibernation. I just changed the oil, trans fluid, adjusted the primary chain, and changed the plugs. Hopefully this weekend will be a good one.

Hey Dano, looks like your wish is coming true!
I have a lunch date in Boston tomorrow and am heading to Chicago on Sunday. So no riding this weekend for me(unless I head out in the morning or ditch her early!)
I'm doing a lot more business travel lately and have my kids every other weekend. So I don't always have the time to head out on the bike, but hope us NH guys can get some rides together on short notice!

I will be working on a family house in York, Maine during April. Would it be possible to meet up with you on your Sunday rides?

Thanks,

Sure, York is a bit far, but everyone's welcome! Haven't heard of any Sunday rides being planned as of yet, but we're not even into the full riding season yet.

York is close to me Don, we plan on short notice as you never know what the weather is going to be and everyone has busy lives. As I mentioned, we can look at Sunday the 8th. Do you have a bike to ride or are you just looking to meet some area members?

Scott,

I will be bringing my new Uly along for recreational escapes from the business tasks the trip is based on. I will look forward to meeting up with you AND riding!

See you in a few weeks!

Sunday the 8th could be doable for me depending on where you guys plan on meeting. It would be nice to finally meet some local-ish Buell riders. I'm usually the only one most of the time which isn't entirely a bad thing.

Ok Dano and Don, let's keep the 8th clear and make some plans as it gets closer!
I just realized that the 8th is Easter Sunday! It shouldn't be a problem for me as I don't have the kids (might be subject to change though)and consider a nice ride as a great way to spend the holiday....

Oh man, I totally forgot about Easter!! I'm not sure If I can make it, but I'll see.

I went on an awesome, long ride today around Massabesic Lake and down through Derry and Londonderry. There were tons of bikes out, but I didn't see one Buell. I rode over to Manchester HD for a bathroom break and the lot was full of baggers, a couple of customs, lots of leather chaps (wouldn't be caught dead in those things), tassles, and matching jackets. Again, I was the only Buell rider. Didn't care though, parked right up front. Hey, the sign says Buell on it too!

No problem, I might be skiing Tucks or who knows....
No riding for me this past weekend - closed out the ski season with the kids at Mt. Snow in VT.
Assuming that summer traffic isn't too ridiculous, RT-9 in VT looks like a sweet ride!
I'm sure our VT brothers can point us to some other nice roads out that way that would be nice to explore this year.
I consider Manchester HD (Buell)as middle of the road as far as their Buell interest goes. Though Al Fitzgerald in service certainly 'gets it"!

It would be nice to meet up with you guys finally this year. Last year, it seemed as though we all had things going on or missed each other at the MHD meeting time. I'd like to see if I could gather up some local Buellers for a group ride to Laconia Bike Week's opening Sunday this year. I'll only be able to make it a day trip, but It would still be fun.

I believe that is a "kids" weekend for me. But if they start the week off with the vintage race in downtown Laconia like last year, we may take the jeep up to watch.

Always try to make the downtown race...
The Demo fleet will be at Meredith May 10th
I think...hope to get some rides going before then...I was up for a breakfast run Sunday, but would have to be home by noon.
The weather is suppose to suck anyway. Was nice to get out for a bit this weekend.

Hey Al, good to hear from you! Yeah, the weather for this weekend isn't looking good, so I am just going see how it goes and decide what to do when it gets here...
the next non-kids weekend for me after Easter is the 21st and 22nd, hopefully some better weather will be with us!

Well, I'm up for a ride just about any Saturday or Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday as long as the weather is nice. Al,
what is going on in Meredith? Is there a track or something up there? I've only lived here for 2 years, so I'm still learning. Any more Buell riders in the Manchester area? I only know of you two and the other guy at MHD that rides the red and black S1 or X1 (can't remember).

Meredith is hosting the Buell demo truck
(demo street rides), I guess May 11th and 12th (probably along with there open house?). Ya, I threatened to go to NE dragway last year. Never got the timing right. We'll see how it goes this year.

A ride to Meredith would be fun. Ride there to show some Buell support, show off the customizing possibilities including what they sound like with performance exhaust systems, and hang out for a while. Anyone interested? I wouldn't mind trying a drag race, I used to race my 65 Chevelle once in a while when I was a teenager. I tried my R6 in the past, but didn't do too great.

Update . . .

Arrived physically undamaged but emotionally/psychically abraded by another one of my series of "Lost on the NYC Expressways" episodes . . .almost ended up at Court's house by accident.

What's with the weather here? It was spring when I left Boulder a few days ago . . .but Maine seems not have gotten the message.

I will check back in a few days to see if a gathering is viable for this weekend. . . .

Don
