Looks like Hammer gets the award for "most photographed" and "best spark show"

Saw a couple of other familiar faces too. Nice pics.

March Badness rocked as usual! The only thing that could've made it better would've been another full day of sunshine. I still had a blast hanging out with the usual suspects from around here and meeting some new imports from the rest of the country.

I think Saintly gets the award for "most distance traveled through the air"

> We also had fun with stickers!

Worst picture ever??

Worst picture ever??

"Want some candy little girl? Get in the car, I'm a friend of your mother's."

Duc, that picture makes me feel dirty.

And that's saying something coming from me. ;)

Another March Badness in the record books. It was an adventurous and fun weekend. We just got home, I am fine, the bike will be fine. It had a more adventurous ride than I did because I decided not to follow the bike off the road. I was distracted for a moment looking at other bikes on the far ridge. When I realized I was farther in the curve because of my distraction, I had cranial gas and grabbed the front brake. The bike just got a new front rotor the day before I left and it bit down like a new Buell front brake will and locked up the front tire. I realized my mistake instantly and let go of the brake but the bike went into a tank slapper so as I reached the edge of the pavement and the bike started to low side I kicked off the bike and barrel rolled a couple of times and stopped on the edge of the road. I looked back to see if the bike had stayed up, but I did not see it. I was sick about the bike for as long as it took me to realized that a minor skinning of a knuckle was my only injury. I got more hurt getting the bike out than I did getting the bike in. As many who were there know, I waited for a tow truck for four hours. I think that was the worst part standing on the side of the road waving at everyone riding by.

As Etennuly stated, I brought both my bikes so I had a spare. I rode the Uly across state Thursday and rode up to the Dragon Friday morning. Ulywife brought the truck and with the beer and M2 on the trailer. On Saturday morning I fired up the M2 and rode a tank of gas out doing loops at TWO.

As always it was great, great fun. I will post pics of the Uly tomorrow. The hand controls, a few scratches, the bags (expensive but effective sliders) which protected the frame and the engine. The pucks were only slightly scratched and that probably happened coming out. Only request is that someone else provide the entertainment next year and may I suggest a band.

By the way, how is Saintly and the other rider?

Saintly and the other fella (can't remember his name.. shame on me!!) walked away. with a little tweaking, they both rode away as well. Saintly needed some parts, (shifter lever/peg, etc.) so we pulled a collective macgyver...using what we could find on the ground to reassemble his bike. there were at least half a dozen of us lookin' around on the ground for some bailing twine or something. turns out, that piece of someone else's old zippy-tie they found really came in handy!

but all is well there. everyone was well insured, and no one got ticketed. everybody wins (except the guy who now has higher premiums...) : )

Buell luggage makes the best frame sliders. If only there were suitcases on the handle bars to protect the levers too! I've dropped my Uly once on each side (for symmetry, right?), and I broke a lever both times.

The bailing twine and new zip ties were in Carlos' bag! Glad both riders walked away.

Man what a great weekend! So many stories but I got to work.

I am working on getting the video small enough to fit on youtube, if anyone from NEBO beats me to it no problem.

I dropped Rasmonis off around 10:00 p.m., made it home around 12:15 a.m.

WOW What a weekend!

Riding the Dragon was cool, The ride that Paint Shaker led to the Dragon was awesome, The Cherahola Skyway was impressive. Paint is a great group ride leader, just enough stops to keep everyone together and just the right pace.
I'm not a highly experienced Buell rider (I do okay, but don't hang off the seat when cornering, don't drag knee pucks etc) and one of my concerns was holding up the pack. The pace for all the rides were in my comfort zone and the very few times it wasn't, I rode my pace and caught up soon after.

Man, where to start...
Rt 60 was insane,
Wolf Pen Gap...unbeleivable-they can't make an amusement park ride that cool!

On the trip home (in the truck) we found 19 out to Turners Corner and 129 (I think) out to the far end of WPG. WOW! I think---nah, I know, I need more time running around the 3%r's playground......

Next time, my riding time will be spent running the loops around TWO.

Bryan Fuller RODE (not trailered) the Biker Build Off custom Buell to/from the event, neat bike with tons of details.

Rumor has it that there may be a Fall Badness.....(don't miss it if there is)

To any of you all that didn't make it because you thought it would be "just another weekend" you were SO WRONG!

BIG THANKS to Stone Mountain and the 3%/C3 Gang for putting on a great weekend.

I'll help out Wolfridgerider and start the count down until next year...
360 days!

Make sure you get out to do your demo rides at your local dealers, the messenger bags from Buell for this year are SWEET! I haven't tried yet, but they look like they will easily hold a laptop this year.

I don't have many pictures from around TWO, but I snapped some on the ride to the Dragon on Friday. I'll get them resized and post them either here on on the Cool Buell Pic thread.

Looking forward to next year!
Toona

P.S. The only suggestion I could recommend for next year is name tags/badges for everyone next year. The 3%r's had their names on their shirts, as did the C3 group, but the rest of us were left askin' "What's your name/BadWeB name?"

Time to go unload......

+1

Thanks Toona for the summary.

I'm still processing all the cool stuff that happened and trying to remember all the Badwebber faces I met.

Greatest group of folks I've had the privilege to hang out with and the riding was absolutely incredible.

A huge thank you to Toona, Cameron, 3%'s, C3's, Buell and everyone else for a memorable experience.

Here I thought I've been riding all along...now I know what it's like to ride a Buell. The roads here now seem so tame and straight...

Man, I don't even know where to start...

It was great meeting everyone and getting faces/names lined up with badweb handles

I definitely want to thank Stone Mountain and specifically Cameron and Brian. Not only was it a professionally run and great event, but those guys and their team went well above the normal call of duty to keep us buellers up and running. I can't even begin to tell you how nice it was to have true customer service and support as a Bueller.

While we live over 300 miles away to the west, my dad and I are now SMHD customers. Thanks for the parts and the support.

I'd like to offer a personal thank you to Charlie (can't remember his handle) with the repair/help and what had to be the best NASCAR pit crew representation of the weekend when he swapped out my defunct isolator mount in under 10 minutes...

Another big shout out and thank you to our brothers to the northeast, specifically Rich (Hammer). He hooked me up with a TPS reset and followed up all day saturday until we worked it all out. And (cough), he now holds MY uly's new personal speed record. Thanks Rich for all the help.

Russ - we got to keep this going somehow...

Big thanks to TWO and their amazing cuisine...should be a crime to eat that well at a campsite.

Honu - be safe on your way home today. (not sure but Craig may have had the longest ride to the event...891 on the Uly...impressive)

If we missed anyone, sorry 'bout that.

My only comment on the weather on the way home is holy crap...it's cold, wet and pretty miserable riding over Fort Mountain State Park with 25' of vis and cagers on either side of you (damn GPS unit!)

If the rumors turn true and there is a Fall Badness, my dad and I will be there for sure (hopefully our efforts paid off and he's on his new Uly by then!)

My dad and I had a great time and again, thanks for so readily welcoming us into the family.

3%'ers can put on one helluva show!

Flyor, No sweat on the mount, I will bill SMHD/Buell for the warranty repair! Glad you and your father had a great time.

Who did the video of Hammer, Smokescreen, and Me?? I am so sorry I forgot your name but I am sure you understand why

Damn New12r...you did that repair for me and I forgot to repay you with all my sage wisdom about raising a baby boy!?!?!

The t-shirt/hat idea that someone mentioned would have helped...and you could've been appropriately bored by all my stories of no sleep, puke in the hair, and the first time he smiles at you...

Thanks again for the help...no vibrations on the ride home.

New12r, that was trac95ker "Richie" from the hudson valley crew who took that video.
thanx for taking us on the ride. i know that's all we have been talking about. good times were had by all.
we had a few guys go down this weekend but had little to no injuries, and then there is hammer71.... that man is nuts. he had his bike leaned so far he was grinding the bottom of his shifter... i was in awe of the way these guys ride and can't wait to ride with them again.

I came through on a cherry bomb xb9s, and my first thought was somebody went down, than I realized it was just a photo shoot. Thanks to whoever snapped a couple of shots of me. That was my first ride that far north up 60. Great ride up to Morganton.
