Road Report...

19 from Dalonaga is almost entirely repaved on the northbound side (watch for pebbles)...

From the 60-19 split is good, not much in the way of road debris in either direction...

Wolf Pen Gap (180) is pretty much clear...

129 from Turners Corner to 180 is pretty much clear...

Russel Scenic Parkway is pretty much clear...

Hwy 60 North of Dalonaga, watch for pebbles...

Hit and miss rain today... We got sprinkled on, but never soaked...

Weather has cooled a tad since last night (no more shorts & t-shirts while hanging out)...

About a dozen or so Buelligans at T.W.O., another dozen down the road and a few in Dalonaga...

Looks to be a great weekend, only real rain chance looks to be today (already over) and Sun...

In case anyone missed it, Dragon Ride leaves at 9am tomm (Fri)!!!! See you Buelligans later!!!!

See you Buelligans later!!

Picked up Ras around 9:00 a.m.,
ran to Roanoke around 1:00 P.M., stopped for lunch and gas.

Decided that we needed to make a drive thru of Deal's gap, so we ran in thru Knoxville and down 129 thr the Dragon all the way to TWO.
Arrived at TWO around 9-9:30 p.m.

Saw Gen. Jon out on Lil Blackie on the Dragon, as well as MotorBikeMike.

WOOO HOOO!!!!! we made it!
Wolf Pen Gap looks like fun, it should be better in the day light

"So the thing to do when working on a motorcycle, as in any other task, is to cultivate the peace of mind which does not separate one's self from one's surroundings. When that is done successfully, then everything else follows naturally.
Peace of mind produces right values, right values produces right thoughts. Right thoughts produce right actions and right actions produce work which will be a material reflection for others to see of the serenity at the center of it all." Pirsig

Keep the rubber side down friends- see y'all at the Gap.

Man it's awful peaceful around here, quiet, calm. Must be something going on.
Come to think of it, I have been hearing a lot of low rumbling noise way off the the southeast(and wait...something else..that wasn't a siren was it?),and when the wind's just right an odd odor wafting up this way. Like someone airing out old musty leather, mixed with a little burnt oil, and something else I can't quite identify. Sounds and smells like some folks having a big 'ol time. Can't wait to hear about it all.
Oh well, somebody's got to hang around and post something.
Guess I'm with Crusty and all the others who didn't get to go, looking forward to next year.

That I know of, only one Buell Uly "went off" at the Dragon on Friday.

I believe it was Carlos, M2NC, from the Carolina Corner Carvers

I heard he was OK, but haven't heard status on the Buell. It was over the bank far enough to require a tow truck to retrieve it...

Bikes can be replaced/repaired. The important thing is that Carlos is O.K.
Thanks for the update; if someone could post more info, it would be appreciated.

I talked to Kristi last night. She was on her way to pick up Carlos from the TN dealership. The bike apparently needs some work. Carlos is fine, though that was before Kristi got a hold of him. : )

Carlos was out riding his other Buell and just about everything on the test drive line.

I just got back early due to not wanting to tent camp in a storm that better show up tonight.

He can post more later, but Carlos was attacked by the momentary distraction bug, and it bit him good. He parted with his Uly up on the road surface and the bike did a superman endo-flip-turn dive over a ravine that was about 150 ft deep, it was hanging on the sloped side about fifty feet down.

It screwed up his bags and the controls and levers but didn't hurt much else. It didn't even damage the frame/fuel tank or even flatten a tire.

He was fine, scuffed a boot and a glove, and didn't even suffer a bruise.

Oh yeah, hey Carlos, great to meet you by the way. And to all of the BadWebbers it was great to see so many Buells in one place and even better to meet so many Badwebber's in person....it was GREAT!

Stone Mountain/Granite Mountain, KUDOS!!! for such a well planned and executed event. <you> deserve a plug for a job well done.

Badwebbers, it was great to make your various acquaintances- keep the rubber side down and stop by in Maryville TN if you ride by Smoky Mountain H-D BUELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, in "MUR-VIL" TN.

(For anyone offended that I impersonated GOD, you must not be a real Badwebber.

1348.1 miles later, and I'm back home. I had a great time and got to meet a bunch of great people. Other than almost freezing my a$$ off Thursday night I would have to say this was one of the best rides/trips I've been on. A big thanks to Toona for taking the extra sleeping bag I had to buy home and shipping it to me. (Let me know how much I owe you) another thank you to Saintly for the chain drive (I can't wait to put it on!) And I have to say I'm SORRY to Steve Hyde. I let Steve ride my Uly part of the way across the Cherohala Skyway and I rode his Bimmer. SORRY STEVE!! Let me know when you get your Uly!!

I'll let Steve post his own review.......

Just got home with Lonexb. Had a great time and hope to be back next year. It was great to meet all of you and had a great time getting photos of all the Buellers. Hope to have them up on my site soon.

I would like to thank Phil from Stone Mountain for the offer to help with my new front tire.

Also would like to give a big thanks to Roanoke Valley Buell for getting me in and out in a few hours notice to do a full service and tire change. It would have taken my dealer 2 weeks just to see me. This includes all the Parts and service department personal. And thanks to Keith for the work on the bike.

Just got in. left out in the rainstorm. there weren't many of us left. those that missed it are gonna hate this post....

i arrived friday and left today. in between i met, broke bread, and most importantly RODE with the most down to earth, friendly, and entertaining people i've ever met. i got schooled by quite a few riders (which i expected), a photographer, and a guardrail (long story...maybe later) and learned the lessons from each. maybe next year i won't learn from any inanimate objects...

big loud screaming WOOHOO!! to the NEBO boys. you guys rode that mountain saturday like you were local or somethin'.: )

It was great to meet everyone! Thank you Stone Mountain HD for pulling together a fantastic event.

I think the best thing was seeing the look on the two guys on 'Busas. That and the parade of Harleys that rode up, stopped, and herded on by.

That many Buells in one place was a beautiful thing!

Not only were the roads around Suches suitably tamed, but someone wasn't very nice to nature either!

It ain't every day you walk by a truck and see an owl stuck in the grill.

We also had fun with stickers!

Got home about an hour ago, bike is off the trailer, and car is unpacked.
MAN... I am toast!
It also seems that my trailer tag decided that it wanted to stay somewhere else.. as when I got home, only a small sliver of metal was left under the bolt... Hopefully it didn't hit a car as it tumbled!

Thanks to ALL of you fine folks who made this weekend happen! I had even more fun than last year! It was great to meet some new friends, and say hello to some I already knew, once again.
And thanks Travis, your riding tips helped my cornering GREATLY!

Hope everyone makes it home safe and sound!!

Well, a couple guys asked me to post on here letting everyone know I made it to my destination for the night in South Carolina.
I can't imagine why they would be worried, I was only riding 200 miles on unfamiliar mountain roads all alone in the rain and heavy fog!
I actually had a great ride this afternoon though. It's almost like, after the amazing weekend I just had, nothing could bring down my attitude!
I'll make the 500 mile trek back to Ohio tomorrow.
I'll make a separate write-up of my weekend later. Right now I'm off to bed.

Anxious to hear all the tales, soon as participants are recuperated.
I take it that March Badness brought an end to the drought.

Make sure to take a look to see if your picture was taken at either the Gap or at Wolf Pen Gap. There are some pretty good ones.
