So I guess I must have overfilled it??

That's strange? If you totally drained it, two quarts should not over fill it. I put closer to three in mine and I never had it over-flow. I know if I let it sit for a couple weeks with out riding it and I top it off with oil before I start it it will be higher on the dip stick after I run it.

Now I know why they are called "stealerships". I picked up my voltage regulator today from HD/Buell of High Point and had them balance my rear wheel. They told me they could not balance the front. What the f--k? I'm too ashamed to say what I paid for it. Oh well, live and learn. Lot's of work to do this weekend on the bike without the $85 hr labor charge. Later...

Yeah, I'm still limping from my last tire swap.

It would have been cheaper to trade them crack cocaine for the service.

When I had threads showing on my rear tire I stopped at New River Harley Davidson they said it would be approx. $500.00 for front and rear change out. I think NOT!

Dave - That's funny, at the time I was thinking the exact same thing!! It's funny how something happens and you remember someone. A Journey song come on the radio and I think of Jeff. I forget to turn on the gas, and I think of you.

"stealerships"

I hope they at least hooked the Voltage regulator up. I was riding the M2 after having some work done at a non-Buell HD stealership and I lost the speedometer. After a while I noticed the lights getting dim. The bike started missing and finally died eight miles from home. After a little investigation I find that they did not hook the voltage regulator back to the battery. Uggh!

As for tire changes, Webe came by last night with the No Mar in tow. We are still very slow at it, but changed out the rear tire at the house. That is the way to go. Order the tire online, have it delivered to the house and change out the tire at home.

Rubberdown - I would have enjoyed that.

If you all are still going to ride up, check out bicycle 1 north out of Sanford. It will dump you onto old us-1 which is a pretty decent ride as well.

Carlos, I didn't give them the chance. I put it on myself today along with Pro Series plugs, the new plug wires, and got the tires on. Man, this thing sounds awesome. I still need to adjust the clutch and primary, steering head is just a little loose, wash her up and take it for a well deserved ride. That will happen tomorrow!

Man, this thing sounds awesome.

I like the sound of the M2 with the V&H slip on. I really like the fact that the Uly is quiet. That way I can do the "Sometimes you feel like a nut! Sometimes you don't!" thing. I like the load pipe around town but for a long trip I like it quiet. Maybe I need to modify the stock muffler with two outlets. A switch turns the flapper valve inside from quiet to loud.

We originally took this picture because Carlee sat on the M2 and held it up on her own. Now she is telling me in four years its hers.

When I looked at the picture I notice the Cozy Cubby in the picture. AydenXB9 & Buelletta bought that for her. It was her first ride, since then Baylee and now Luke play with it. Where does the time go.

Dwiggs- was good meeting and riding with ya in the ERC this weekend, always nice to put a face with the name.

Mikethebike72- man if you ever get an all buell class together I will do my best to make it. Last couple exercises we did with three buells and Jake on his nighthawk. Now that was great!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did...and learned a lot about the Ulysses as well.

Was able to do the smallest box about 50% of the time. Busted the line on the final test and lost three points but learned a lot. Something that I will need more practice at in the parking lot to be smooth at. Not the bikes fault but mine I'm just not comfortable at full lock going that slow.

pretty doubtful, my gravelly-voiced, slow-talkin' friend, but not due to lack of desire. we gots lots of work to do on the new/old place to get it ready for next winter, and i suspect most of our rides this season will be pretty close to home.

that said, we had a long anticipated day off today, got up LONG before sun-up (which we always do), Richarded around on the confusers a bit checkin' e-mail, BADWEB, ADVrider and the like, and then went back to bed (something we NEVER do).

we slept in 'til a little past sunrise (something else we NEVER do), Dicked around a little more on the 'puters, showered, had a nice home-cooked country breakfast, then hit the road on the Road King.

our biggest challenge today was whether to turn right on the Parkway, or turn left.

we chose left, and spent an absolutely glorious day riding in YOUR state, enjoying being in the wind, enjoying being human.

it was every bit of 75 degrees up here on the Ridge today, and there were motorcycles EVERYWHERE.

we didn't care where we went, only that we rode.

i'm skippin' over a bunch of stuff, but we ended up doing about an hour and a half at the Moses Cone Manor, buying a few trinkets and having a truly delightful conversation with one of the docents.

before we left, we pulled up a couple of rocking chairs on the porch and imagined living in such a place, on 3600 acres of some of the prettiest land i've ever seen.

afterwards we dropped down into Blowing Rock for fuel for the bike, and fuel for us. Blowing Rock is COOL! had a fabulous gourmet lunch on the outdoor patio of one of the "downtown" cafes, watching the world go by, enjoying being alive.

well shucks, we'd ridden DOWN the Parkway a hundred miles or so to get here, which meant we had to ride UP the Parkway a hundred miles or so to get home, now with the afternoon sun over our shoulders, spectacular views in every direction, and a constant stream of motorcyclists to wave to.

Oldog, hope you and the rest of y'all had as great a day as we did. : )
