Most likely, me and the wife, Jimmy and Amanda. I just got a large bolt in the rear tire tonight so I hope to have another on by then if all goes okay. If not I could always drive the truck I suppose. And yeah what would we bring? |

Pokinatcha - here's the e-mail I got from Vegas earlier this week. We just say bring what you want. Chauly is bringing about 25 lbs of BBQ! We are providing soft drinks, some beer, and the utensils, napkins, ect along with some "fixins" to go with the BBQ meat. I suggest they pick from a list of Hamburgers and fixins, beer of their choice, hotdogs or sausages, etc. |

Guys I am sorry I have been sooo slow! I have been buried at work. Pokinatcha: EVERYONE is invited. You will be guaranteed to leave with more friends that you showed up with! See other posts about food, etc. Olddog: I guess that ride is out unless I get the *&$%$& clutch fixed. That's ok though. I take it for what it is... just a mechanical beast that happens to win the battle sometimes. Bring beer...and bring whatever you like. I am heading out Thursday for some burgers, and "fixins" as they say here in the south. Chauly is bringing more BBQ than you can imagine. Last year it looked like a Roman feast! Nick |

Nick: I just got a call from four VERY EXCITED Italian Buell owners who, after I taunted them for a while, lept on a flight from Milan to Daytona. When is the BBQ and is there any problem if I invite them on behalf of the Buellers? Drop me a note and let me know. I'll get them maps and contact info. It sounds like they are having the time of their lives! Hey . . you're not pulling that "hey get me a beer. . I'm in a full body cast" prank again this year are you? Court |

Chauly: Like last year, we have had about 30 to 40 confirm in some way or another, but as you saw we way outdid that. We did some shopping today and set up what we brought back with at least 60 in mind. Luck would have it that there is an Albertsons store right down the street and a 24 Wally world just down from that so I don't think we'll be running out of anything. One more day! Nick |

The many times I've been to the 200, I have always enjoyed the race wherever I've been, but for a good overall view, the grandstands down by Turn 1 across from the end of the pits is my recommendation. This gives a good view of the infield, the start/finish, and the drag-race/chicken game that comes at the end of the high-speed front straight. But something that is extra is the pit view. The 200 is won or lost on the pit strategies (or lack thereof!); you can usually divine more of "what happened" from that than anywhere else on the track. For example, as cool as it was to see the XB-RRs yank the headlights out of the competition leaving the International Horseshoe from a close vantage point, the only clues we had that there were problems with the Buells is when the pit-board crews folded up their tents. (The announcements were not too informative.) When the VR-1000 was run with Pascal Picotte on board, he was running third or fourth when a botched pit stop ruined the race for him. We sat right across from the pits, watching as he is sitting on the bike, then standing next to the bike, then sitting on the pit wall, then peeling the top half of his leathers open to cool off... well, you get the picture. Enjoy the race wherever you are. If you are in the infield, take the time to walk around and see different turns during the race; it's long enough that you won't miss too much at any given time. The meat's done, as are the sauces! The menu is mostly pork BBQ, with some beef brisket in there as well... (donations gladly accepted!) Nick, if we run low, I can do ribs on your grill if there's a SAM's or Costco around; alternatively, I need to bop over to Lakeland on Saturday morning; I can pick up more if necessary. Well. . . . I am not going to be able to make it but I can smell the food from here! But. . . you are NOT OFF THE HOOK! I'm sending "THE ITALIANS" your way . . . be on the lookout for Giorgio Locatelli and company. I've copied Chauly and Nick on the e-mail I just sent Giorgio with the directions. These are some of the folks who were so kind and welcoming to Erik when he was in Milan. They are the force behind the Italian counterpart to Badweb the Tribu'6800 Forum. Any courtesies you can extend them will be appreciated. . . there are VERY GOOD BUELL FRIENDS! Court ((SEND FOOD))
By the way . . . I expect a picture of Giorgio holding a sign saying "where the hell are Erik and Court?" |

Nick & Sammie sorry we didn't get out to meet you guy's. we had planned on riding out to meet everyone. but unfortunetly we had to make a pit stop at the hospital. it turns out that angie is allergic to mussel's, and started swelling up like a balloon. so we got her some benadryl and took her to the hospital. she is fine now but very tired from the benadryl. so we just came back to the room so she can get some sleep. we will have to meet everyone next year. i hope everyone there had a great time. |

It was nice to see youse guys again this year. I still can't put all of the faces with names (and I didn't have the "drug-induced stupor" excuse that Nick had!), but you're all good people. We'll try to do it again next year... (Message edited by chauly on March 11, 2007) |

While not anywhere near as large as it was last year, I still have to say we had a great time meeting everyone! It was great to see many for the second time and also prove what Buellers are all about. If it were not for Lafayette and Justin, I think Olddog wold be still sitting in Daytona with a flat tire! How good do you have it when you can call up someone that you know from an online group of friends and say "I have a flat" to find them on your way with a truck and tools within an hour? I hope you all made it home ok! Please keep in touch! The ones that we missed, I apologize! My bike week ride was broken until yesterday, when again it was fellow Buell riders to the rescue! We picked up the parts from Seminole Buell and then I got side tracked with my tax guy so Justin and Lafayette put my bike back together. Again, I can't say enough about the people on this board. Hey Nick, Sandy and I got back to home a little while ago. It was great meeting you, Sammie and the rest of the folks last night. Your selfless hospitality is truly admirable. We will pray for your continued healing. May God bless you! Oh and when you buy that Harley for Sammie to ride on, make sure you keep the Buell for some solo fun! |
