Stumbled into this thread. It's the cccc-cold time of year but if you folks want to start talking about maybe a Spring Thaw ride, let's stay in touch! We have a mob up here in Palmdale and we're talking about a ride up Caliente/Bodfish road to Kernville Isabella area when it gets a touch warmer. If you haven't yet done that run, you MUST do it sometime (watch for cows and what they leave behind - nothing can break traction like hitting a cowpie!) Jerry Haughton (Ferris Bueller) lives in Isabella area and is always a great host for a short visit or to join us for a local loop in the mountains. Not much more that I know. They talked about Virginia but had not made up their minds yet. Since they both work off the internet they can show up anywhere, at anytime! Should we start a where is Ferris game? That could be fun and drive Badweb nuts! They were supposed to have left here Dec 15th. | ||

it's been a long, strange trip. we're still technically homeless, but the owners of the house we're trying to buy accepted our latest offer yesterday, and if all goes well we'll be in by the 12th. i've taken very few pix on this journey - we've been quite busy with the task at hand - and there's quite a story to tell, but it's only in my head. Southwest Virginia is fantastic, the people and the land, and we're looking forward to moving into our new home and getting on with our lives. hope all is well with all. FB&D | ||

Dino - howdy back atcha, and to Char.  yep, THIS month, altho the closing has now been moved out to next Tuesday, and if all goes true to form, by next Tuesday the closing will have been moved out yet AGAIN! still, shouldn't complain. if the 16th holds, it means that we landed here in Virginia, set up temporary shop, shopped for a house, found a house, and closed said house in just 31 days! me 'n D will be back in the Kern River Valley on the weekend of 1/20 and 1/21. it'd be cool to break bread (or beer!) with y'all while we're there.
