Don't know what was going on a few posts above but I don't know how somebody could have a problem w/Murrae. Guy busts his ass for anybody who needs help.

As for the run to Silver, there is the Hillsboro Apple Fest down there on Labor Day Weekend, think it's 1-3 Sept this year. If the orchard is still going after the drought, dunno, haven't been there in a while. Ride across the Black Range is a good one.

Thanks for the schedule CJ.
We will be planning to attend some of those rides.

I see you've covered just about all the myspace groups.

Yeah, well... I have a myspace account and it turns out there are quite a few buellers on there, so I figured I'd post it in the off chance that someone is in our neck of the woods. You never know.

Meanwhile, this schedule is all weekend and/or Sunday rides. Murrae and I did discuss having mid-week rides, maybe a Tuesday or Wednesday. I know that there are at least a couple of others (Tim, Bear) who work weekends consistently. I can arrange my work schedule to get mid-week off once in a while and am generally off Sunday/Monday. I think that we still have the option open of doing whatever we want mid-week any week. Also, we didn't put anything in here about the track days that Murrae is still working on. So...

Thanks to Murrae and CJ for getting the schedule together. Plenty to choose from... Also, looking forward to some track-day possibilities.

Still working on the track days. I did get an approval from my GM and I've emailed the track for info. I still haven't heard from PJ. Nick- if you go by there, maybe ask him to ping me or give me a call.
We're also working on getting the ZiaThunder web site going.

Hello,

I'd like to get in on a few track days - Is there anything I need to know or do to participate. Though I've ridden for 12 years on an old KZ100 police bike, I'm relatively un-initiated and mostly ignorant to this track stuff. Been only a few months on the SCG and would really like to learn to be more "effective"

Gerald,

I've attached the document that spells out their requirements for doing the track day. Basically with the buell it is taping up the lights and reflectors, & removing the mirrors.

They have a track school that they run for new riders, it goes over all of the stuff you need to know about the track, they take you out in a smaller group and give you some coaching. I had a great time doing it and found it to be really helpful. I'll likely do the class again.

There is a track school during the track days. The race schools start up once they start racing in a few months. Try the track days prior to doing the race school, see if you really like it. The track days are cheaper then the race schools.

http://www.patriotguard.org/ALLForums/tabid/61/for umid/98/postid/395831/view/topic/Default.aspx

All: The above link it to a thread in the Patriot Guard Riders forum (I hope) regarding a burial for LCpl. Emilian Sanchez of Santa Ana Pueblo. He was killed in Iraq in late January and brought home about ten days ago. He was buried at his village and the blessing of the grave is this Saturday at 1000. Unfortunately, some knuckleheads have sought and obtained a permit to protest this. They are of the opinion that LCpl Sanchez' death was a good thing and that America being attacked by the sons of Islam is good and jive's with the Bible.

PGR is going to be at the burial/blessing and I am to. I would encourage any of you who feel so moved to join us. It's sort of like unofficial security.

Wow CJ,
After that smart azzed remark of yours a few months ago about the PGR being the Professional Gay Rodeo, I'm surprised your getting involved.

Here is the Itinerary for the day:
FINAL ITINERARY....PHASE II....BLESSING OF THE GRAVE

Mission Date: Saturday, 10 February.

Staging Location: Kicks 66 Station, on NM 528, 3rd light north of Southern Blvd, west side of the road, in Rio Rancho.

Staging will begin at 0800.

Kick Stands Up at 0830.

Please bring Flags if you have some.

And here are some comments from a native american that was sent to the local OIC:

My heritage is Native American. I think it is awesome that you may be attending the Blessing of the Grave for Sanchez. It is not an often extended invitation. If you have not witnessed a blessing of the grave, it will not be like anything that you have seen. Although I was raised in some of the cultures, I was not raised in most because my father was not Indian and we lived in the city. Most funerals I went to were traditional. As my relatives on my mothers side aged and passed I witnessed the first "Blessing of the Grave" that I could fully understand and remember. It was very different and very moving to say the least. This family must hold the PGR in high regard to extend this invitation and that is an honor. Mary Forester I wont go into details, theirs may differ from ours, but the emotion and experience will be nothing like you have seen.

First, I made that comment before I ever knew what THIS particular PGR was. There actually is a Professional Gay Rodeo and when I was the head of security for the NM State Fairgrounds, we did security for them.

Second... I forget what I was going to say.

Murrae,

w/re: to a joint Track Day w/ PJ's...
I talked with PJ. He indicated that he is expecting a large crowd with his Triumph and Ducati owners and is concerned he will have too many. He didn't sound really thrilled about adding another group. In fact, he is thinking of ways to limit the size of his group.

PJ suggested teaming up with Sandia BMW as they are a smaller track day group...

Anyway, I think you should probably pursue other track-day partners.

BTW: PJ has managed to get some Buellers to fly British and Italian flags. Two Lightnings and a Uly were traded for something...recently.

Heard the Uly belonged to a former HD Dealer owner... Apparently he went for a new Triumph Tiger 1050.

Hey all,

Activity here in the "New Mexico" board warrants moving your listing on the main Storm Fronts page to the top with the other more active groups. Just a heads-up notice so you don't think your board got deleted.

Will add the capability to start new threads too.

If you'd like anything (information, web content, whatever) added to the top of this main page, just let me know.

Thank you.

Your humble servant and BadWeB custodian,

Blake : )

Why thank you Blake.

The real reason I popped in here is to let you all know that I now have VDSTS if anyone needs to use it. Took me a few minutes to get it connected, but after I realized what I was doing wrong TPS resets are a breeze.

Ya, I should've kept that bike, but I couldn't really afford to have two bikes.

Seen plenty of Buellers in the area who are not part of the "club." Maybe they watch some of the BADWEB e-mail postings and choose to stay away... ;)

I've noticed that even Buellers trade bikes for something different. Maybe the uniqueness of the XB is wearing off? I suspect there are Buell enthusiasts who are open minded about other bikes.

I walked into T-Bird HD the other day and found four new 07 XBs and 4 discounted (believe it or not at T-Bird#@!#) '06 Ulys that have been there since late summer...and ONLY 12 leftover, odd-size Buell clothing items. I know, I know...that's why we're part of Santa Fe HD. It's just an indication of the lack of Buell enthusiasm at some dealers. One guy I know went into a dealer (T-Bird) to give Buell an honest look; salesman did not know the difference between a Blast and a Lightning...he had to look at the tags! He also made a point of mentioning that the Japanese have the corner on the sportbike market. Great salesman?$#@!

Just some thoughts...about image and marketing of our preferred brand. We (of course) know the truth about Buell...

BTW: Anybody see the Jan 2007 issue of Roadracing World? ...two page spread on Buell racing success. Check it out.

Well there is one new Bueller in the area at least. Thanks to Murrae, I just picked up an '03 Blast out of the Santa Fe Rider's Edge Program for the wifey.

As far as T-bird, I don't know how they sell any bikes. They treated me and my wife like shit twice when I wanted to buy my Uly. It was actually still Chick's the first time we went it, but we were treated exactly the same both times. I would bet any money that one of those Uly's is the one I demo'd in July of last year. What is even more amazing to me is that all of my friend's at work with Harley's bought them in Santa Fe also because they were treated like crap at T-bird. At least they don't discriminate??
