Mike,

I'll be around tonight, up on the roof of course finishing up all the loose ends. Feel free to stop by. This time I WILL order the pizza. Diane has to work tonight, so I'm batchen' it again. I actually have plants and fish in the wall tank now. Call me at home 414-443-0879.

CJ,

Just loose the windshield for the ride and pick up the windscreen screws and plastic washers later. I looked in the service manual and there is no specific name for the screws and rubber washers. Call or stop in at Hal's and they should be able to help you out from the parts books. Should not be a problem at all.
If anything, stop by my place tonight and we can take it off and use half of my screws and rubber washers to keep it on. Two of them will hold it on just fine.
What brand of rear did you get? I'm thinking that I'm going to stick with the Avon's.

Jerry

Hi All...did this Sunday's ride today. Was 160 miles in 4:15 and I kept pretty much to the Speed limits primarily because I was working on my tan in the Miata. LOL

If we leave promptly at 10:30 AM, we will meet Dennis at 11:30 and hit the I-94 & Hwy 83 gas/food stop around 1:00 PM.

I suggest that we use the PDQ Gas and Nourishment Stand on the Southwest corner (Next to Marty's Pizza) to meet with those joining us for the afternoon segment. We can work out food details there.

Road conditions for the ride are great. However, the Holy Hill area still has some frost heaving but very little gravel. Actually, none to be concerned about unless you are knee draggin'.

The scenery was beautiful on the entire run. The trees are blossoming, fields are green and I saw the strangest selection of domestic and foreign farm animals ever. If any of you stop to play with the sheep, you are on your own!!!

Will email a route chart tomorrow. However, note that from the time we meet Dennis until we hit the gas stop, it is a generality. He does tend to wander around the Eagle area and for good reason I might add. LOL

As Jerry mentioned, ride staggered. However, I would like to add, ride staggered on the boring roads and go single file and follow the line through the turns in the twisty sections. Note I am not talking about a painted line as that was missing on all the good roads. Any and all road hazards, except a few road kills, were within 2' of the edge of the road and getting into one of those traps can ruin your day.

Suggest anyone wanting to join us for the Holy Hill section that does not care to meet up with us at I-94 and Hwy 83 plan to meet us at the church in Monches, Hwys Q & K, around 1:30. The group will be coming down Q from the west.

Looks like this is going to be a real fun ride and just might provide some local routes for those coming for the Buell 20th. So bring your water bottle and cameras as there will be plenty of photo ops.

Have a great day!!!

Bill

Bill,

Sounds like an awesome route!!! I may defer the lead to Bomber in the lower sections of the Kettle. I'll have a passenger along for the ride. I'd prefer to hang back. She's still learning how to be a pillon :D

See ya Sunday!!!

Bomber....Let's more our meeting time to 11:00am. And let's move the place to the strip mall on Hwy 12 & 120 (1 exit north of Hwy 50)

Bill (again)...Let's have the group swing south on 120 instead of crossing to NN. We'll take a shortcut through town and then hit the roads I was interested in riding.

MikeJ...Sorry to hear you will be missing the ride. FYI, I finally figured out how to do the HH route without backtracking. Makes for a fun route and gets you over Hogsback in the safer direction. Will sell the secret at the next meeting. Doubt if anyone will remember it the first time through.

Should be a good day of riding.
We've got a relative towards EauClaire who has second and third degree burns on both hands from a kitchen accident at his work, and they are moving this weekend. Needless to say it's hard to move by lifitng boxes with your elbows.

Are you taking them up Emerald Drive? St. Augustine has a couple of fun corners, funner going up hill than down.

Ouch!!! Had second and third degree burns once. No fun and long heal time. My condolences.

You are going to love the route. Emerald starts the last lap through the hill. The only thing I did not include was the church it self and that can be added easily enough. I just like to avoid the crowds hanging around up there on Sunday's.

Picture a kettle of hot deepfryer oil sitting on a shelf where only cold pans are supposed to go, sitting above where the deep fryer is. Now imagine grabbing the pot of oil, discovering too late in a busy kitchen that your hands are now frying/sticking to the outside of the pot. Then add in dropping the kettle of hot oil and having it splatter into the fryer below and onto the counter top and all over yourself. Fortunately he was wearing the cooks-type apron that probably saved him from much worse. I'll get the rest of the story when I'm up there. Not good, and tends to mess up the summer, not to mention it happened during finals week for him and his wife. The only bright point is that his professors have granted him extensions and delays to complete his classes.

Have fun Sunday, and avoid the blue light specials. I think the blue light brigade starts getting intermittantly heavy out there Memorial day weekend for the summer as that's when the tourist season starts to pick up.

Typing Wife for the first couple of months is going to be weird ain't it Greg? (A small word of advice, use "the wife" sparignly ;):) )

MikeJ,
Where in the Eau Claire area? That's where I'm headed. Thorp to be exact. Hwy 29- about halfway between Wausau and Eau Claire.

Does the Club want the First Aid kit this weekend? It is at my house. It is just a fanny pack, but can come in very handy for things as simple as a bee sting to other situations. I am headed out of town probably by 5:30 tonight.

Bill, you want to pick it up?

Jerry

Bill,
Swing by around 5p.m. and I'll be home.

Greg,
No problem. I still get ribbed from the first time Diane heard me refer to her as "the wife".

Weees gots to sticks together on things, otherwise we'll never be able to go out riding.

Hey Jerry,

You'll be proud to know I got the new screws, washers, etc to put the original screen back on my bike !! Apparently it does take different hardware than the windshield, so who know what I did with those !!

I'm good to go now !!

Now go out and grind those pegs down for me this weekend, and hopefully I'll bring home a mess'o crappie to have a Brew City fish fry.:)

Hey that's an idea. How about a Brew City BRAG bar-b-que? Sometime this summer. I'll volunteer the grill and the house.

Jerry

Jerry...Gee thanks. That will be right in the middle of dinner for me. LOL Assuming you are leaving tonight, put it in your mail box or to the right of your front door if we miss connections and I will pick it up later tonight.

Then again, I can always shine the kit and take one of my throwaways. Anybody starts whining and it's the Coup de Grace for them. LOL
