Richie,

Sounds good to me. Your both more than welcome to join us. the dates are June 6,7,8th. There will be some late nights involved for some of us, but you guys are more than welcome to set your own pace/schedule and come and go from my home as you see fit. Friday we are planning on going to the flattrack races. Saturday; ride all day, street party 8p.m., Zwarte @ Backwaters afterwards. Sunday whatever everyone wants to do. Of course anyone can stop into the rest of the event and vendors at any point in time. My home is within 1 mile of 90% of all the events. We would love to have you guys join us!

give me a call and I'll give you some more details.

Keith

also, since you are familiar with Quincy, here is a map of the event and locations of key points. the raceway is not included, but I am sure you are familiar with that area since it is near the airport.

Sorry I didn't make it to The Other Place. Had to work. I do have a question: Has anybody installed a Storz liscense plate bracket on an X1? If so, how much butchering needs to be done. I like installing "clean" parts on my scooter, and avoid parts that require a hatchet to install. Thanks.....Ken

Keef,

A 1998 Sportster??? You might be the only one that the "Harley weekend warriors" may speak to in our motley group of Buellers that weekend! at least we will have a translator if we need one! :) Guess I better clean and polish the bike since it may be sitting next to all that chrome! :)

Richie,

The flattrack races are Friday June 6th @ 8 p.m. When we get closer, let me know when you expect to arrive.

Note: for those coming from KC. I have driven to KC from Quincy many, many times. The fastest route is I35 north to Cameron, then 36 West to Hannibal. Last time I made this trip it took 3 1/2 hours from Quincy to the Leawood/Overland park area.(don't ask why) so if you are on the north end of KC you can probably do it in just over 3 hrs. this was at an average speed of between 70 and 75.

I guess that ups the total to 6 for the weekend. Sam, Frank, Ben, Richie, Keef, and myself confirmed
Paul probable. Josh is out for the weekend but may try to make the races. Anyone else?

Keith

Yo Digger,
Would it be cool if my roomie and a couple of his friends came along? They would prolly trailer up there (77 ironhead, and a 550 kaw) cause..well..the ironhead would prolly break down at least twice, and the kaw rideris just learning still. Roomie would prolly take the my superglide...

MOBbers,
If anyone would like to join us tomorrow, we're going "exploring" around Manhatten/junction city area(pending on weather). It appears Sam has spotted a curvy one in that area :) Everyone is welcome Bueller or not..prolly gonna be several sportbikers involved as well. Hold yer tongue on the japbike bashing comments, Richie :) We're meeting at the gas station (Texaco?) at I-70, and 7 Hwy at 10 a.m. sharp. Be there, or be square :D

Ironken, I'm not familiar with the license bracket, but if its application is for the bike, it should work just fine. Storz is pretty nice stuff as far as I know ;)

Don't worry bout cleaning yours..mine will be just as dirty ;)

Frank and Sam,
Did any of the track day forms I sent you work? I need to get them and the $$ by the 15th. I can do it with a credit card over the phone also.
I can't wait!
Anyone else coming?
Our plan of attack is to get there about 10am Sunday and watch the races all day. I got the last 2 rooms at the hotel by the track. Both rooms are going to be really full.
Monday morning,
6:30 Breakfast at the cafe by the hotel(great food)
7:30 go to the track for tech inspection and get ready to wave the Buell flag high and proud!
My goal is to sign up 20 riders for the track day, with Frank and Sam I think I'm at 15.

Ride to the edge!
Dave

Hey all,

I did about 5 hours of research for the Saturday June 7th ride. I know its grueling work but someone has to do it! :) I rode the northern end of the route that I had planned and decided to scrap that whole section. Average roads, average turns, too much distance between them. The reason I scrapped them is that I went exploring and found a few very, very nice roads just off the southern section of the route I had planned. I found a road (route T) that runs parallel to MO79. It is about half the length of 79 but has good twisties and good pavement. Also rode route O, nice road. Looks as though the route will be spending alot more time from Hannibal to Louisiana and over towards Mark Twain lake area.

This has been a very good venture for me. It is giving me the opportunity to really explore NE Mo for some roads that I think even Bob and John would be proud of!!
