Yep, during the day it gets pretty warm.
Just remember you'll be in the mountains, so at night it'll be a bit cooler.
May have some rain in the evening, that's been know to happen, but we've been lucky enough not to have it rain during the day.

Not really mountains like you're used to. These are more like foot hills than mountains. Let me put it this way... you can walk to the top of Brasstown Bald, the highest mountain in Georgia, in about 20 minutes from the gift shop and parking lot near the summit.

Come to think of it, Brasstown Bald is a great place to ride to from Suches. The view is as good as you'll see in all of Georgia on a clear day.

I've been at work for 15 minutes and already had to put my foot up someone's ass. I got key people out, not-so-key-people screwing things up, suppliers that won't supply me, and a huge project with an important client that needs to be completed TODAY.

Oh March Badness, take me away...

79 DAYS!!!!

Do the festivities start Thursday or Friday? I've never been, but I was planning on arrive mid afternoon Friday, and heading out early Monday.
I can't afford to take too many days off work.

(Or is there some sort of schedual of events or anything I should look at in the archived pages?)

The official days of the event are Friday-Sunday.
I live near by, so taking off extra days is for me to get ready, get there, and get set-up.
Friday is getting everything together, and in the afternoon/evening is a non-formal Meet and Greet. Usually a bonfire in the back, with lots going on in the lodge as well.
Saturday, are the Buell demo rides from 7:00 to 4:00. Also on Saturday are informal rides with the 3%ers. The same goes for Sunday.
All weekend there will be riding, and partying.
Saturday, I plan on having a BadWeB tent set up so we can get together and put a name with a face. I plan on having it going from morning until 2:00 or so.
The whole event, you're pretty much left up to your own devises, there are so many people, and miles of the best twisties, that you'll not get bored.

Bring a map of the area so you can explore on your own (if you want). There will be scores of informal guided rides going on all weekend, too. Pick a group you are comfortable with and make as many friends as you can. You'll meet so many people, you'll have a hard time remembering names.

I usually spend one day demoing the bikes and meeting people at the campground, then I spend one day riding hard and exploring.

A new twist this year will be the Uly's going off on dirt roads. I bet that'll fun.

No s**t? They're going to take the Ulys on dirt roads? Which ones? I've taken Big Grassy Knob and Duncan Ridge roads, (both off of 180). They're both pretty good roads. That's awesome news...

Or is that not for the test rides, just for blasting around... Either way, I'm there!

Sorry to say but I'm out

I normally don't need to ask my boss before I plan a vacation. But this time, I decided to "run it up the flagpole". Good thing too....because he's out of town during that same period.

Oh well...maybe next year.

Mikef5000,

There is an "unofficial" day-ride leaving Fri in the am headed to the Dragon. We have 4 bikes committed so far, DJK, Myself, Mr. DucTape and a BMW riding friend.

Any and all are welcome to ride with us. We are flexible on the departure time from TWO, but really don't want to leave any latter than 10 am so we can get back to TWO before dark.

Nah! You should have rode with me on Friday last year from the Dragon to Suches. NF-4 was fun!! At the top of the pass you have an awesome view of the valley below from the dirt ledge the road is on.

Hmmm, Maybe I could head down Thursday, ride Friday and Saturday, and head back Sunday.

I'll have to talk to work, sounds like a blast!

Stupid question: I checked the original post, but I must have missed it. Where is this? Does everyone stay at one hotel or something?
