Xbrad9r-I think you can get something closer but don't quote me on that! There has been a few offers of cabin space available by some from up north, check back at the beginning of this thread.

Stealth, ditch digger will be there also, please add to the list. Gonna try to head out a day early and stay at the dragon on thursday night, but my plans change by the minute around here.

DITCH DIGGER

We have to hook up this time (I'm the guy who lives in Columbus and stopped by where you used to work and said "hey" to Jorge and the gang for you). We were both at MB2 and MB3 but missed each other both times. I'm planning on running up to the Dragon on Thursday. If your plans hold, maybe I'll bump into you there.

"i wanted to know if Dahlonega is the closest hotels to T.W.O."

I like staying at the Holiday Inn in Dahlonega and riding to the T.W.O. campgrounds. It's only a 15 minute ride to Suches from there and the road between them is spectacular. I already got my reservations for Thursday through Monday.

i searched back thru this post and saw that 'new12r' said that Dahlonega actually is the closest town with hotels...

so my question has already been answered...

Crusty...you had the same question and the two cheapest ones i found were the Econo lodge and the Days Inn in Dahlonega, GA...they also have a Super 8 and a Holiday inn Express. Mapquest shows it to be 17 miles from Dahlonega to Suches.

here's the link to Dahlonega hotels

Dj- we definatley gotta hook up this time. Our headquarters is about a great 15 min. ride from TWO also. Out of TWO hang a left and enjoy the ride for about 14 min and 10 seconds depending on speed!!! Kristi, the plan master of our group, just said that M2NC will be at the ironhorse lodge on Thursday. I'm planning to stay with them. Maybe we can hook up then. Either way just ask around for a c-3 member and they should know where I am at!!!

The road you speak of from Dahlonega is one of the 3%'s favorites I believe, so yea it is a great ride!

Check the Carolina Corner Carvers thread under adventures to see what everyone is doing.

Rubberdown myself and wife left TWO's at about 12:30 and rode the scenic route up the Cheroh.... skyway. took about 2.5 hours. Straight shotted it back and it took about 45 min- an hour, till we got to the last mountain overpass in the middle of the dark! Kinda cool seeing the the headlight beams go back and forth and back and forth...........

I'm there. I hear there are some good forest service roads up in the Suches area. I think we need an off-road Uly demo ride! And I don't mean the kind of off-roading the lady did with that poor Blast last year.

You can probably count M2nc in the off-road Uly demo ride. He enjoyed finding the fire roads around Suches last year. He gave me a heart attack at MBIII when he rode his Uly up the grassy hill at TWO to get to the road. All I could picture was a tumbling husband and Uly. Luckily enough for him, he made it and thought it was fun!

He gave me a heart attack at MBIII when he rode his Uly up the grassy hill at TWO to get to the road.

We sat on the front porch one evening last summer and watched domino harleys on that hill.
What fun!

What do you mean you haven't been riding. I took the bike out last night for a nice ride. F'in freezin it was (~30) but the bike LOVES that cold air boy.

Then my buddy nicely reminded me that I have an 06 sticker on my MC plate.

looks like someone forgot to reregister his bike. I'm just glad a cop didn't get behind me.

BTW,been speaking at length with the shop super who's ok.All he needs me to do is put it on the schedule.I'm thinking of taking off either Wednesday thru tuesday or Thursday thru Wednesday...Hey NEBO guys' what's your itinerary regarding leaving/returning to New England?

It has a MA registration and plate/tag. Not street legal by any means but it is registered.

Ducxl........ leave home on Wed night after work and drive to HV. Leave that Thursday with the HV crew to GA. Drive back home on Monday, work on Tuesday. So you would need to take 3 days off. Thursday, Friday & Monday

nebo,
we're hopin to leave about 6am on thursday, should get us to high valley resort about 8pm. do you have a place to stay yet? the last place you stayed is about an hour away, no need to add to your trip. not sure if we should meet up at my place (about 3 miles from 84) or the rest stop on 84(might be the best idea as we will lose less time this way). departure time will depend on rich's work schedule and the speed at which he drives. just how fast can you go with those little 8" trailer wheels anyway? might bring some extra bearings!

Or better yet, buy some 12" wheels. We almost had a blow out coming from DC to NC with 2 bikes loaded. A patch of tread on the trailer tire had let go. Thankfully enough we had a spare and could take the side roads the rest of the way home.

Before Suches last year, we put the 12" wheels on (about $50 each) and loaded a Uly and V-Rod on the trailer. From eastern NC to GA the trailer did great, no tire or bearing issues.

Just a suggestion from our previous experience.

How does leaving the T.W.O. no later than 10a, riding up the backway, across the Skyway (very righteous road), over to the Dragon and back sound??

I've got Wednesday to Wednesday off.
I'd like to head up to the Gap, but Friday tends to be a very busy day. After I get myself unloaded, the BadWeB area set up, SMHD&Buell's bikes unloaded, the Buell truck unloaded, and a little of the kissing hands, and shaking babies, I'll more than likely hit the local roads, namely Wolf Pen, over and over again.
Holy crap this list is getting HUGE!!! Can't wait to see everyone.
This is only the list from the people that have posted in this thread!
I've got the usual suspects from Coke showing up for demos, and some local runs.
Some local sport-bike clubs are coming up as well.
