Remember Mike that all they have is Italian air, wouldnt have worked in a British bike anyways.

I bet if it had been a Duc or Aprilia with a flat tire that they woulda had air & the rider would not have to resort to

Buell Bash/BattleTrax weekend recap,
Saturday was our annual Buell Bash, the weather was great! We had a bunch of riders take out our new Buells for a demo ride. The KC mob came up for the day. We got Jeff a new tire mounted up on his S3 while he was there, thanks for the Biz Jeff! Attendance was a little off from last year but I think it was just too nice of a day. Everyone was out riding!

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!
Our second BattleTrax event! Whhooo Hooo! The weather held out for us at last. Temps in the 70s! We started the morning at 6am to set up the course. Jeremy and Larry did a great job on the course. It was HUGE! 2 barrels and lots of very tight corners made it interesting for everyone.

We had 44 riders,up 1 from last year but we had over 340 people thru the gate! The riders put in 502 runs by the end of the day so I think everyone got plenty of riding time. The course was big enough that we could get 3 or 4 on the course at one time, this cut down on the wait between rides.

We had riders with sportbikes,YSRs,cruisers and dual sport/motards, no touring bikes showed to compete this year. The stunt riders, Team XMX and Kansas City's Most Wanted put on 3 great shows for the crowd. Those guys are just plain nuts! We had a vendors row with lots of stuff to look at and buy.

We had Buell riders come from Mo,Kansas,Il,Mn,Ne and of course some of the locals from Waterloo in attendance! What a great day, everything went pretty smooth, I had lots of great help, even a few that didn't know they were going to help me(KCBill)we couldn't have done it without them.

All the winners, including 7 year old Mason got a framed certificate to show off that they are the fastest. All the riders got one with their fastest lap time of the day. The winners also recieved a $100.00 gift certificate from the HD/Buell Cycle Center(I'll send yours with your helmet and plaque Sam).

The big news(and no surprise to me) is that in the Sportbike class a Buell kicked ass! Sam, from KC ruled! The guy was an animal out there. I have to look at the time cards but I think he won by several seconds faster than anyone else in his class and was running close to the fast times set by the rider that won the Dual Sport/Motard class! Way to go Sam! You ROCK!!!!

Well I have to go get ready for work now but I'd like to say thanks again to those that helped make this day possible, without you we couldn't do events like this. I know that lots of people probably think, what's the big deal, just set up some cones and there you go. Well, I want to tell you that it's a lot of work! I, and others put in 13 hours yesterday alone to make this event happen. Thanks to all the people that helped me. You're the best!

Ride to the edge!
Dave

Yep, probably so. He only lived down the road in Port Washington. Found free air at the gas station. Said he was heading home for a few hours to see if he had a leak.

Several dozen non-customers, most of whom liked the bikes that the dealership sells, and many will just remember the free brats, certain endowments, and no air. Most shops at least have a little portable 7-gallon air tank available. If he'd have been totally flat, or had a tire with a softer sidewall, I would have suggested running over to the Wal-Mart across the freeway and picking up one of them tanks, then taking it inside to the store manager and suggesting he has the dealership invest in one. Oh well, all worked out in the end. I just don't know if what I'm experiencing today is due to the chili in the afternoon or the pizza last night.

Mike,

ref: picnic table surfing.....

It seems that 3 young ladies (2 of which you probably know well) were watching some racing from a picnic table on the edge of a hill....all on one table edge. Lets see....how can I put this politically correctly? there was a mass imbalance, causing said picnic table and three occupants to convert potential energy to kinetic. Luckily occupants and/or table did not end up on track. I hope someone got a picture of it though...

P.s. - Don't let whatever's party girl image fool you either. I heard she went to sleep at 8pm on Saturday night!

Hey Charlotte,
I think I saw where you work. Found a video at a rummage sale put out by someone about the Crandon mine from a Nations point of view. From the late 1990's (I think) and probably before your arrival there. Short, only about 15-20 minutes long or so, but informative. Had a few scenes from the main office. I'd have to watch it again to capture any names.

Have fun in the field.
