Excellent news on The Dragon!

Had a nice ride home. Took the long way down 97 instead of 98 and went back through Douglas. Met up with our bud eboose In the center of town, he had a dead battery at the gas station. His girl/wife(?) came and got him and he left the bike there..

Hope he is fixed and home now.....
How you make out with it???

I got back about an hour ago. I had a spare battery, and everything is all set. While at the gas station, I drained the gas and filled up with fresh gas. The bike runs great now.

I had a feeling that my battery was toast. I will try to return it tomorrow, I only had it for less then a year. I must have gotten damaged from the crash. That must have been the cause of my charging problems.

I'm so sorry Eric's M2 ran badly.I do not,however,believe it is fixed at all.Wasn't there a recent stranding with similar symptoms? A replaced voltage regulator? Now a diagnosis of a bad battery from the accident? No way,the system must be tested with a multimeter.

It was otherwise a fun day.Nice to meet Liz,good for Jim. Our riding day's are dwindling fast now.Hard to tell if it will happen again this season.

Duc, you are right! My bike is stuck at the shop right now. I had to take the shop's truck home. I did the multimeter check for a bad stator after the first stranding, but now I will have the shop check it out.

Hey, at least it is being stored indoors right now : ) . If any more good riding days pop up, I'll just take the Firebolt.

Ok, the battery is good, the stator is good, the voltage regulator is good, the ground from the regulator is bad. Basicly, I need to clean up the regulator mounting plate and the back of the regulator so it makes good contact. Zero parts to replace.

Anyone interested in doing there own fork service, I just ordered everything needed for the job. including fork spring compression tool and fork oil leveling tool from Al. So it should be nice and easy job....
