Did you guys know this? I saw this on the HoosierThunderclub section.

IT IS INDEED A DARK DAY FOR US ALL..............

LATEST HORRIBLE NEWS DEPARTMENT:
THE BUELL ORGANIZATION IS CEASING ALL BRAG FUNCTIONS AND ASSOCIATION WITH LOCAL CLUBS.
IT WAS NICE WHILE IT LASTED, BUT IT'S ALL OVER NOW.................

OUR CLUB WILL CONTINUE, BUT WITH NO BUELL ORGANIZATION OR COMPANY AFFILIATION. SO GUYS, LETS KEEP OUR GROUP TOGETHER. WITHOUT BRAG, WE NEVER WOULD HAVE GOTTEN TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER, BUT THEIR BOWING OUT IS NO REASON FOR US TO ABANDON OUR ASSOCIATION. THERE IS PLENTY OF FUN TO BE HAD !!!!!!

WE WILL STILL HAVE THE SUPPORT OF JEFF AND HIS CREW, THANKFULLY. WE NOW HAVE THE CHANCE TO EXPAND INTO A GENERAL SPORTBIKE CLUB ALLOWING US TO EXPAND....LET'S DO IT !!!!

Letta - this just takes it back to what you and I have always said, C3 is a BadWeb Buell Riding Group! BRAG has never really played a roll in C3, so I don't see that we've "lost" anything. No more worrying about having a meeting!! Now if something happens to BadWeb, our computer people will have to host a C3 website!

Hope all is well up north. It's really cooled off here. Miss you guys!

Hey J.Nance...I'm assuming you came back from Asheville by 421 to I-40. Did you happen to see any fire flames or smell any smoke right before you got to Burlington? Just curious. A local high school in Gibsonville caught fire around 3 pm and burned all night long. As you may guess, it was a total loss. No students were hurt, but two firefighters were slightly injured. It was one heluva fire. I was watching it live from three local networks for two hours. I even told Pat, they need to pull out and just let it burn.

Letta - Yeah I saw it and Kristi is right. We have never really been a BRAG outfit. We are spread out over the entire state and some in our group ride something other than Buells. Like the Hoosier club we have always welcomed all bikes. It will be interesting in the future to see what Buell does now that it is breaking out of the HOG mold.

Twig - I-40 runs right into Asheville, so I don't need to do 421. But I did : ) I left Mom's and went up to Shady Valley, and then headed up toward Tazewell, VA. I made it to Marion, VA and realized I wasn't going to make it to Tazewell before dark, and I really didn't want to be on those roads in the dark. So I got back on 81 and took it to Wytheville where I had dinner. I had really forgotten how beautiful western VA is. Then I took 77/74 back to Winston Salem and caught 40 home. I suspect I rode by Gibsonville at some point, but I don't recall seeing a fire.

Funny thing happened up at Shady Valley. Not being the weekend there were only 2 other bikes there, a couple of locals. They could not believe I had ridden up from Raleigh and was planning on going back. I believe the term "hard core," was invoked. It made me feel good.

Hey Twig, I went to summer school at that school and we had quite a few friends/enemies from there(you know high school stuff.

Jim the school is to far from the highway to easily see from I40, although I bet if it had been daylight you could have seen the smoke.

Hey Guys,

I just got back from running some errands today. Earlier in my outing I saw a yellow '99 X1 Lightning in New Bern and was able to catch up to him with my V-Rod. We talked for Buells and riding for about a half hour. I gave Darrel (not sure how it's spelled) info on badweb, C3 and told him to stop on by. He said he doesn't have that much free time, but said he would probably get on badweb.

BTW, it is the same Yellow X1 that I saw this past summer here in New Bern.

Since my requisite weekend activities to provide sustinence are done, tomorrow I am going to go out in the garage and work on the S2! Piston pin bushings be prepared to be reamed and honed. I think my chance encounter today has motivated me...

Here's hoping Darrel (please correct my spelling) comes and checks us out,

Well, we've found a house and we talked to the realtor and we are hoping to put a contract on it next week. We're saying our prayers and hoping and wishing for the best. It's an older home, built in 1921, we believe it's a Craftsman. 3 Bedroom, 2 bath, 1728 Sq ft, 3 car detached garage, parital privacy fence, nice yard. Please pray for us, cross your fingers, we are hoping and praying that everything works out for us.

Yes, we have a thing for older homes, we love the style.
Oh, and it's on a corner lot and we have our own fire hydrant, if we are fortunate to get it. : )

Southern Marine- What a exciting time for you, I will never forget retirement from the military and all the uncertainty that goes with leaving the only life I ever knew outside my childhood home.
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers here.
Not to scare ya but 2 1/2 years and things are finally starting to settle into the comfortable routine that I knew in the military.

After a 15 day hiatus from riding, I rode yesterday. The leg is better but still not wanting to push it, Webe came over to check out two up riding with the Uly. He and his son on the Uly and I on Minnie rode back to his house and pick up Webe's BG. The three of us rode around the area for about 35 miles where Webe found out the dangling the front wheel of a Uly with a Pillion is a breeze. Know what I mean Jim! I think that was the longest I have gone without riding. Even after my Icecapade last November I was up and riding in nine days. So the question left is a fill in the blank.

Webe________?

Nice bike Spike! I too am interested in a more off road capable bike but it still has to be road worthy. One day I would like to look closer at bikes like the DR-Z400 or 650s from Kawa, Honda or Suzuki.

Heck I would love it if Buell would jump into that arena. A 600cc Blast variant like a mini-Uly.

Piston pin bushings are now reamed and honed. It took more physical effort than I was expecting, but the job is done now. After I install the new piston retaining rings it will be ordinary, average reassembly. It looks like the weather will cooperate this week, so much progress can be made after work. After all, I gotta make up for lost time spent partying during Halloween week - that's right, it's more than just a day for me from now on, I'm taking the whole week.

Spike,
Veddy interestink! What's it got for an engine? And, NO, I don't mean '250 cc'. Is it a Rotax engine or did KTM actually make their own?

Orange and black looks pretty good on a dirtbike...

The family and I were driving around in our bright red Durango, and I noticed a Blue Firebolt driving down 150, then turned on 3, down to Kistler Farm. Tried to catch him but dang traffic kept me from catching up until I had to turn for my house. Didn't want to chase him further because we had hot burgers and we were starving.

Anyway, just wondering if that guy is on the BadWeb at all. Be nice to know some more local Buellers.

Bike had sidebags, rider had grey jacket and silver/grey helmet.

Hey yall,
I rather enjoyed my last couple months of riding around the central/western NC countryside. Spent most of my time on the bike while commuting, but have ventured out for a few joy rides.

I was wondering if any of you attend track days around here? Come spring time, I'd like to find an organization that sanctions some club events at VIR, CMP, Lowe's, or other road course tracks in the area.

Rubberdown - you should receive your check today or tomorrow!

Carlos is back out riding! Webe is riding the Uly and Carlos is on the Blast! He actually ventured out to Jacksonville yesterday. You can tell the ride did him some good!
