Jim,
Unfortunately no. My wife is taking me out to dinner and then to see the MMA show. She knows how much I enjoy watching the Ultimate Fighting Championship on tv so when she found out their smaller counterpart was coming to Roanoke she got us tickets.
Never fear we will both make it down there one day. I imagine after putting up wih both of us for a day you won't want us back for another year or so LOL!!!!!!!!!!

OHHHH SNAP!! You got me good on that one!
I would however appreciate it if you would leave my promiscuous behavior top secret. I have one affair with a cantaloupe and now you think I am a ho'. I can't bear the shame and will now go on a melon binge until I am shriveled up like a raisin.

Nuts,
It was a freakin' nightmare! There were three extra crackers in the pack and no cheese left. Moral of the story, always buy the brand name saltines to avoid unnecessary hearthache.

I thought the moral was to be the culprit in the; "eat the last bit of every snack and leave the carton" game. I sure love that game. I actually am guilty of worse. When I was a child my parents would keep the powdered donuts on top of the refrigerator, so all you can see is the box and not the contents. I'd sneak away the donuts leaving the box, until.... My brothers figured the game out. These jokers took it upon themselves to raise the stakes. They would take each donut out, lick the powdered sugar off and then replace the naked donut. The real nasty part was that split second while I brought the donut box down thinking I had myself another full treasure chest. Of course only to find out, I'd been out NUTS'D

Remind me to show you my Australian belt buckle some time!

Torts, quick change maybe. Seth gave me a ring inviting us to ride tomorrow afternoon. 1:00 at the shop. Several Buellers are supposed to be in attendance. This might be our last hurrah before the weather turns. If you'd rather shoot that'll work out too. I also might have found a way to stay in Roanoke for a few more years. Interested? NUTS

Man,
Just when I thought I would be able to get rid of you in a few years you are looking to stay around LOL!!! You know my feelings on you moving in the first place so I won't get in to it here but am GLAD to hear there may be a way around the relocation.
I won't be able to ride tomorrow due to feeling a bit under the weather but still plan to go sight in around 4:00 or so. If you want to go riding instead no hard feelings since there are only a few nice days left.
You missed a good night of fighting. There were 16 bouts in all and while the fighters were pretty much local amateurs it was still entertaining. The wife took me to Texas Steakhouse for dinner and since my nose is stopped up and my tastebuds are dull due to having a cold I had a near disaster. Ordered the cheesefries with regular ranch and they gave me jalepino ranch instead. Got halfway through it before I realized the difference. Had to abruptly leave and dash home for a big fat dose of Atarax. Still ended up with the headache, flushing and hives but at least I didn't have to go to the ER!!!
Give me a call if you don't go riding so we can get er' done.

after reading yall's amazing feats of squirrel slaying & turtle fornicating, it seems like the time to say 'hello' and intro myself.
i'm andy, live between the C3ers & rvf&l, on the nc/va state line.
not much into hunting myself, but like to try for the xring. mostly .30 cal my fav, but do like .223 cal. i seem to remember a mention of a 'cooper' rifle in a post - is that the 6.5 bench rest?
anyhows, some nice weather forecast this week, if yall have any free time, give a holler & i'll ride up and say hello

Andy,
Welcome aboard and please fasten your seatbelt. The ride can be quite bumpy at times LOL!!
Nuts and myself enjoy a bit o' paper punching on a quite frequent basis. Mostly rimfire, blackpowder and pistol although we have been known to break out the ole' 30/06's for a good shoulder beating.
I have two Coopers. One is my trusty model 57m .22LR. The other is my LVT chambered for the ultra fun .17 HMR. If you wanna come up for a day of shooting let us know and I am SURE we can accomodate . If you would rather go riding I am sure we can work that out too. Please note that while we may sound odd on the board we are for the most part relatively sane (at least I am, the jury is still out on ole' Nuts).

Jim,
Neat link. The male is ramming the female to try to stimulate her. If you notice she is laying close to the ground which indicates she is unreceptive to his affection. The male cannot successfully copulate unless the female raises her plastron (bottom shell) off of the ground.
When I get a digital camcorder I will post a movie of mine going at it. The male actually grunts so loud you can hear it through the floor upstairs with the tv on!
Gotta love them shelled critters. Trying to carry on a normal life while hauling around their house all the time .

There is some good news though. Columbo solved a pretty difficult murder case .
I may wait until later in the week to stop by RF. When are DC's days off?

You're not even a real knight! A more appropriate title would be, "Sir Bailer von Itsallaboutmestein." I figured you find an excuse to cover up the Columbo plot. Anyhoo, I've got to get out and be productive. I might just go for 500 miles today! Enjoy your nap buddy. "It's tournament champion or nothing at all!"

Hotrats, pleasure to make your acquaintance. If you're looking to ride the tortlover might be a dead end as he's about to "winterize" his ride. On the other hand I'll be installing my heated grips next week, so the Uly will be all year, all fun. Don't mind the snotty reception of; "Oh, I have TWO Cooper's." Sometimes my buddy can be a little abrasive, while I am always a generous and amiable fellow. I don't have a habit of bailing either; so that's nice. I'll see you out on the roads. NUTS

hey jackie, will your nifty software program due a tps reset on a 2001 S3T. I put a race a/c kit on dads S3 and now it acts as if it need some fine tuning. Did the same kit on my 2002 S3 and it ran great with no adjustment.

Seth,
The TPS shouldn't be an issue, make sure your gaskets and backing plate aren't covering up any ports and your AIT sensor(I think thats the right one) is mounted in a good spot in side the breather....Charlie

got to RVHD about 1:45. Met Seth, he said you were there earlier, and would be sacked out by then. Seth looked up and ordered a backing plate for my CF air filter cover - (THANKS Seth!)
if you'd like to try again, let me know - I'll get up your way earlier, now i know you're a night person. weekend looks clear but cool....
and i thought we had a lot of deer down here - least here they stay hid until dusk...

Andy, sorry we couldn't work it out. I'd make sure you've got a battery problem and not a charging one. Ask me how I know! Hopefully you made it home without any electrical failures. Did you get to ride any good roads while here? I was planning on taking you guys for a few curvy thrills but it'll wait til next time. I'll see what we can work out for the near future. NUTS

ah... electrical problems! yeah the x1 seems sometimes to have a 'little gremlin'. had to replace the volt pak in Feb. put a volt meter on a few months ago, it indicates charge. the batt was 18 months old, and went through more than a few discharge/charge cycles before i replaced volt pak. today, going to check out charging system to be sure ok
we left roanoke on brp, looked all the pretty deer crossing in front of us. got off at tuggles gap. followed a woman in a f150 pickup down hwy 8. i'm happy she didn't drive any faster, we couldn't have kept up! geez she could drive that truck.
looking forward to checking out some twisties up your way.

thanks charlie,

checked gaskets, ports, sensor etc...everything looks fine. Installed the kit just like I did on my '02 S3, mine ran great, Dad's just seems flat and sluggish. The bike was very strong with the gaudy hemholtz diffuser and now it runs like a harley, all kinds of noise but goes nowhere.

The_raven, Check out this e-mail I got.
Jason,

I checked into this re-flash. There are indeed two different ECM calibrations. To be able to reflash your bike with a 07 mapping, the dealership will have to hook your bike up to Digital Technician and instead of using 6 (indicating a 2006 model) as the tenth digit in your VIN, enter 7 (indicating the bike as a 2007 model now). They will then goto the ECM flash menu and it will show the 2007 OEM calibration as the only one available for the bike. They can download it at that time. There is no charge to the dealer for this ECM flash unlike the performance flashes for H-D’s that are about $140. Make sure they only charge you for labor. You should receive a printed sheet that details the ECM calibrations put into your bike. Here are the numbers so that you can verify you got the right one:

06 Flash: MX1US23i/DT

07 Flash: MX1US24i/DT

I tried to contact tech services to see if there would be any issues with doing this, but I can’t get them on the phone. I waited in queue for an hour and a half. My lunch hour was running well over by that time. More than likely it will work just fine, but change it at your own risk.

This calibration is designed for a stock 07 bike. So if you have a different air filter/exhaust combo and are experiencing pinging, it may not fix it.

I’m going to post this on BadWeB also in Big, Bad, and Dirty for the other guys.

Alright, now get to work. We have pinging Uly's to fix. Maybe you can talk the parts dept. into giving all the local Uly's a deal on 07 airboxes. Like pay retail and get the re-flash free. Or maybe, re-flash & ride day. There's nothing like a happy Uly owner. NUTS
