Edgar,
I met another guy who has a Uly tonight. He actually doesn't live too far from me. I saw him going down 71st Street, so I made a quick left and tracked him down. His name is Mike Kelley and he said he would probably come check out the group.

Thats 3 Uly's in the house now!

Cal emailed me an informed me he would not be able to make the ride tomorrow. He has to pack up and finalize paperwork for his Service deployment. (I guess that is a good excuse!!)

Here is a pic of him at the bike ride for the USPS motorcycle stamp unveiling. Cool!

Well, it was just Mike Kelley and me for the ride this morning. We did try out a new route, though. We took HWY 51 to Talequah, and then hit scenic HWY 10 up north to old 412. Not a bad ride...HWY 10 was by far the best section with some good twisties and some fast sweepers.

After that, we hit the new BBQ joint in Broken Arrow. It was a good day!

Thanks for coming Mike!

Chris,
On Monday nights there is a bike night at the Backyard Burger at 91st and Memorial. There is usually a pretty good sportbike turnout there and it starts at 6:00. I won't be able to get there till about 7:00 or so.
I'll let you know if I go tomorrow or not.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know about a good experience I had at Route 66 Buell today. I had to take my bike into the service department for a few warranty items. My front isolator was shot and my steering head bearings were causing too much resistance. The guys got me all fixed up and I was impressed with their customer service. I dealt with Paul (service writer), Bob (customer service), Tim (ordered the required parts) and Nathan. Nathan was the Buell tech and he fixed my bike up well.

I would highly recommend these guys if you have any issues with your Buell. Route 66 is definitely a "Buell Friendly" establishment.

Good to hear things turned out at Route 66. I was going to ask how it went.

Be thinking of club names to suggest.

We had a handful of people at the meeting last night. The weather was great and we went on a little ride afterwards.

Welcome to Brian Beeler. He rode his XB12R all the way in from Oklahoma City!

Jim also noted that there is a "Run Whatcha Brung" drag race this Sunday at the Tulsa Raceway. For $20 you can get as many runs in as you want. Starts at 10:00 AM.

We didn't have enough people at the meeting to decide on a name for the club, so we will hold off on that till next month.

Also, to be an official BRAG club we need to have 4 officer positions filled. They are a Director, Assistant Director, Secretary, and Treasurer. Chime in if anybody is interested in these positions. We will shoot to get all this completed at the next monthly meeting, which will be Tuesday, October 17th.

We also talked about doing a ride to Talemena Drive in the next 30 days. Check your calendars and see which weekends work for you.

I rode my Ulysses to the All Bike Drags today here in Tulsa . My best pass was 12.79 at 103.35 mph. I entered the Sportster / Buell Shootout and made it to the 2nd round. I was put out by a highly modified Sportster that ran 11.11 at 118.84 mph. Lots of Fun!!!

Sweet man!

I wanted to go out there today, but I was prepping the bike for my track day that is tomorrow.

With a run of 11.11 I would say that the "highly modified" sportster is an accurate statement. That's fast!

Did you have a hard time keeping that front wheel down?

It may be a few more days to get the on track pics from Hallett's website. Until then, here is a pic of my tire all "scrubbed" in.

God I love these bikes. There were some people there that were pretty floored I was running a stock street tire on the track and getting the "handling" I was experiencing. I never slid once.

I now have the full understanding of what "OWN THE CORNERS" really means. Passing people on the outside was amazingly easy. I was coming into turns faster, braking later, and carrying more corner speed then most of the other riders. Of course the bigger bikes were passing me on the straights, but I would get them in every corner. Oh, it was so fun.

I'm beginning to wonder if there really IS a guy named Drake who lives in Broken Arrow. Maybe I am like the guy from A Beautiful Mind and I am imagining all of this.

Cochise,
I do really exist! We will cross paths soon.

Ctyxrnr,
Sweet! HPT has a real smooth surface compared to Hallett. The Hallett surface looks slicker than snot...but it grips pretty good.
