U4euh - yep, those are for you.

It was a big tree. I had thought about cutting it up myself, but it took 5 guys all day, with heavy machinery to do it. I'm glad I let them.

Yeah, and that I can have a move of venue from anywhere in the state!

In all seriousness, Good Luck!

Running way behind in Pumpkin Center this morning. My wife had a terrible night so I'm wife/hospice nurse sitting at the moment.

Just when it looked like I was going to get off the porch for the day the StealerShip called and said they had my recall parts for the Uly. I rode down to Gastonia and they hooked it up while I waited. Waiting wasn't bad at all because they had a car/bike show and a dyno shootout going on w/BBQ and a live band.

So my first up close and personal view of a GT-40 was at a HD shop and I got to ride a Segway too. I was beginning to think I'd chased Alice down the hole or something.

Well Carlos and I made it back from OBX. It was a great day Saturday. We rode several ferries and got on the island after it was dark! We found a room for the night and then headed for Awful Arthurs that Webe recommended. It was great! We sat at the bar for a beer and ended up ordering steamed seasoned shrimp for an appitizer-YUM and then ended up eating dinner at the bar. It was a fun night.

Today we headed out for breakfast and then to the Wright Brothers Memorial. I wanted to go to the Christmas Shop, but sadly found out it has closed forever.....oh well.

We had a great ride home. I actually made it 100 miles before I HAD to get off the bike. The 07 Uly seat is awesome! We stopped in Washington and had a late lunch. We then made the last 40 miles home to unload the bike and go gather our children from various locations!

During lunch we discovered that this was our first trip all alone in our 22 years of being together! Go figure....all other trips we've taken have always involved other people!! Goes to show that we have to get out more often!!

Carlos has some really good shots. He'll have to resize them and post them tomorrow as he is currently snoozing with Luke!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. For those heading to Boone with us, we need to start talking about meeting times and places. See you on the Adventure thread!

Hey who started the C3 church...?

Sorry for the bad picture taken from a moving truck and after 29 hours of work just Sat. and Sun. I am too tired to even come close to thinking how to clear it up.. Larry

Twig,

The beer bongs at O'Tooles were not your typical beer bong (funnel and length of hose), they were actually very similar to a water bong, but instead of being filled with water they were filled with beer and instead of a fitting to hold something to put another medicinal substance in there was a tap. Sure wish I had gotten a picture of one.

I got back from the banzai road trip to Orlando last night and let me tell you - the seat on a XB12Scg is a PITA! The new owner of the bike and I took turns running through a tank of gas all the way back. My last leg was from Goldsboro to New Bern and ANY stoplight was a welcome sign as it meant I could take my rump off that tortureous seat! Hopefully I will have some time to post some pictures of the trip tomorrow night.

It's not as bad as it looks. I've got some herbs (not Brankin's kind) planted out in the front yard. This is one particular plant the catapillers love. I think it's parsely, but I'm not sure. They are content to leave everything else alone.

Wow.

I think our trip to LaVale was your first trip w/o the kids. I couldn't believe it when you told me that. I remember when it rained the second day, I stopped by your room to see if you all wanted to go on the train. Carlos answered the door and said you all might show up. I knew I'd never see you all on that train.

But seriously, it's impressive that after 22 years you still want to spend a weekend together.

Yeah Jim, I keep telling Carlos that he's a habit by now, so he might as well stay around! I think we went through our rough stuff early. When you date for 5 years, you have time to work through issues before you get married. Something must be right, we're still here, and like you said, still want to be together!!

Road the bike into work this morning. Kept feeling some jerky pulsating when using the rear break. After I arrived, inspected the rear-end and discovered the bearings are out. Hmm, guess I won't be riding the bike back home today.

Ah hell, I rode through miles and miles of twisty WV mountians with bad wheel bearings. Of course I didn't know they were bad. I'm glad I survived.

Fortunately bearings are cheap. It will take them about an hour to replace them. Or you can do it yourself if you know how (I don't.)

Carolina Harley is sending a truck out to pick it up. No charge for the pick-up service. Not bad considering the dealership is 30 miles away!

Update: They picked up the bike within 45 minutes of calling. This is pretty good customer service considering I didn't even buy the bike there. Oh and the bike got to ride in a real nice closed in trailer towed by a Hummer.

Finally made it back home a while ago. Had to layover Sunday. The weather was just too lousy yesterday in Cullowhee to ride home in. Real beautiful scenery around Mt. Mitchell. Man, it was pretty darned cold up there this morning. I also forgot my cold weather gloves. The leaves are starting to change in the higher elevations. Yall be sure to pack some cold weather gear for the Boone trip. Almost 700 miles. The bike ran great the entire trip. Later...

As it stands now... There will be a group of us meeting in Jacksonville at the Bojangles on Hwy 17. 9:00 a.m. We had a great ride yesterday morning (sunday.) Nate (xb12rnate) showed up for his first time and let me tell you, he's a damn good rider. I ride with some pretty "advanced riders" and they had nothing but good things to say about Nate.

To answer the ever present question that I keep hearing about being this far east, YES, there are roads to ride out here. Most of them that we go on make Old Maple Hill look just like that.... OLD.

Carlos, Mike did show up and ride with us..

By the way, have you ever seen a 6'9" man ride a 1981 BMW? He literally can ride with his knees on the pegs and his boots touch the brake light. This man is in his 50's, and he might just be the most advanced/skilled rider I've ever seen.

He was there, and he was killin' em' softly.

I'm not sure exactly whats going on a Ray Price, but things have changed there over the last few months.

I was up there last week to buy tires, and I rode the Blast. One of the salesmen comes over and asks me if it's mine. Turns out he just bought a Uly for himself. He reads Badweb enough to know about our Boone trip. He had his seat modified and told me I could sit on his Uly to check it out if I wanted to.

And things like this are happening every time I go in there now. The service people know my name. An employee I don't know will usually come up and ask my how I like the Uly. I was in there a couple months for a sticky throttle cable, and Mike in parts asked me how I liked the continentals on my bike. I'm very impressed that Mike notices my tires, particulary since he isn't in the service dept.

It's nice.

Jim,

That's nice to hear. There's a Ray Price here not 2 miles form my house. They won't have anything to do with Buells and make no bones about it. I have to drive 30 miles either to Gastonia or Statesville to find a Buell friendly dealership. You might mention that the Buell riders in the Charlotte/Concord area are not to happy with the Ray Price dealership here.

That is great Jim, are you saying we are famous or infamous?

The guys in Goldsboro know me too, even Shelton and I talk when ever I am in the store. They did sell out of the Ulys and from what John tells me they are selling out of the other Buells in the Durham store where Dave (not our defacto director) moved to. He is a Buell nut too. I do not think they surf the bad web though.

Let the guys at Ray Price know they can join us on any ride. On the Web we are state wide.
