Pete, Brian will be at the ASRA National this weekend in Illinois chasing that Thunderbike Championship.

However, they'll be plenty of Buells at Summit Point this weekend to take pictures of.

Hey everyone,

The Frederick Buell Racing team will be in Chicago this weekend.

We will meet this Saturday, we can ride in the morning (between 9-10am) then meet around 1pm or so (making it a short ride - we could always ride afterwards too). Please let me know if you plan on attending. We can meet at my house or the dealership.

If there's a particular area you are interested in riding let me know, if not I can lead us through a series of random twisties around here. I'll try to get a map posted tomorrow.

Update on Randie: nothing really, she's still missing and there has been little to no progress. I'm finally "moving on" I know that sounds harsh but, there's only so much we can do with what we have K on the other hand, is not doing as well I'm not sure what to do with her (she may not be at the meeting unless we have it at my house). Personally, I think they're cooped up at Rob's dad's house. If I had surveillance equipment...Something I'm considering but I've already gone through a substantial amount of dough as a result of her decision. I'm sad then angry, then indifferent then sad again - lather, rinse, repeat.

If you're on the mailing list, expect an edited copy of this thread in your mailbox.

-Ras

Good meeting/rides yesterday. Thanks to everyone that came.

Looks like our next group ride is going to be to Liberty's Demo Days in yesterday. There's already a thread with information for this ride, you can find it by scrolling up.

I do not have any plans for next weekend yet, but expect me to post something later this week.

For those of you out there planning on riding today - ride safe

Any one around Frederick interested in riding later today let me know.

Ocean City Bike Week day trip report.

Dodging rain drops, I made it out to Berlin, MD for the 2006 Delmarva Bike Week. I was there to go hunting for the elusive Fischer MRX motorcycle, and if I could not find the specimen, at least find its nest.

ocean Downs

Went to Ocean Downs where all the displays were located, but no Fischer there. Exile and Redneck were there and their bikes are always cool to look at. I got to talk to Russell Mitchell a bit, he's cool.

later on Steve(OCbueller) and I hooked up and he showed me the back roads between Berlin and Pocomoke City Md, and we eventually found the adress that Paul posted earlier.

2028 Broad St

Being saturday, nobody was home, and we found no clues that indicated a motorcycle assembly plant was located inside.

Steve

However, we were entertained by what was going on across the street, a demolition derby!

demo derby

It was so muddy the cars could barely go fast enough to really crash into each other.

After that Steve and I split and I went back home after checking out that event at Coleman Powersports. 400+ miles today, I'm tired, bye!

I've been working on the bikes this weekend taking advantage of K being at her MSF course, hopefully she'll get her certificate for the M endorsement today.

Finished installing and setting the Buell race kit on my bike, installed the graphite grey seat supports (sub-frame) and put on LRB's.

5K service (which took way too long - I completely destroyed the oil filter trying to get it off) on K's bike and LRB's there too.

Cleaned up and ready to go, breaking in the LRB's sure is fun!

Pete: Thanks for letting me use your stands!

Randy: I have to drop off a few kids at the Frederick Fair @ noon then I'll be available.
I'll give you a call...

Jose: How many people are going to Liberty from your group? We should try to meet and ride up together.

For those interested, we can stop in Burlington, NJ (approx 1/2 way) for a home cooked breakfast (my mom offered, ain't she nice?).

Speaking of next weekend in addition to the Liberty Open House in NJ, there's the following:

AHDRA PREPARES FOR HEARTFELT EVENT AT VIRGINIA MOTORSPORTS PARK
SEPTEMBER 23RD AND 24TH
The S & S Jim McClure Nationals Presented by Drag Specialties Will Honor Drag Racing Hero, Jim McClure

WINSTON SALEM, NC, September 12, 2006 - As the Screamin' Eagle Performance Parts Championship Series prepares for the upcoming national event at Virginia Motorsports Park, there is excitement in the air along with sentimental thoughts.

The inaugural S & S Jim McClure Nationals presented by Drag Specialties is titled in memory of the late Jim McClure, a 19-time drag racing champion and icon of the sport. McClure passed away in 2004 following heart complications.

Known in racing circles as "Da Judge", McClure is a native of Williamsburg, VA - making the Richmond, VA area a fitting location to recognize and commemorate the man considered a hero to all that knew him.

Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) is a state-of-the-art facility and the largest of it's kind on the east coast. The track is located just 30 minutes south of Richmond in Dinwiddie County.

Racers from the U.S. and Canada are expected to gather at VMP on September 23rd and 24th where AHDRA will host 15 classes of competition.

In the Screamin' Eagle Top Fuel category (McClure's claim to fame) fans will witness the nitro burning machines pulling up to 800 horsepower, reach speeds of over 200mph in just six seconds.

Classes will range from three nitro categories to modified gas bikes, street bikes and the 2006 released V-Rod Destroyers to name a few.

There is something for everyone during the weekend. In addition to racing, fans can visit manufacturer's midway, catch a live band and see the Heavy Metal Road Show featuring Suicide Jack Choppers, games and the Smokin' Spoke models. Custom bike-builder, Kendall Johnson will also be there and is always happy to sign autographs for his fans.

Leading off the action on Friday, September 22nd, is the AHDRA Nitro Party at Colonial Harley-Davidson. The pre-race celebration goes from 11:00am-8:00pm with barbeque and beverages, vendors including Drag Specialties and custom bikes. AHDRA will have race bikes on display from 4-7pm and a live band will perform at 6pm. Colonial Harley-Davidson is located at 1701 Temple Pkwy in Prince George, VA.

Racing gets underway at Virginia Motorsports Park on Saturday, September 23rd with qualifying at 9:00am.

On Sunday, sportsman eliminations begin at 10:30am and the Pros take the track at 1:00pm. Opening ceremonies will take place on Sunday at 12:45pm with a special salute to Jim McClure.

Admission is $40 for the weekend or $25 for a single-day pass. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount with a valid membership card. Children 11 and under are admitted free. AHDRA also welcomes active military and reserve personnel free of charge with active military identification.

Discount tickets are available at Colonial Harley-Davidson in Prince George, VA; Hampton Roads Harley-Davidson in Yorktown; Southside Harley-Davidson and Harley Haven in Virginia Beach; and Revolutionary Harley-Davidson in Lightfoot, VA.

For more information on the S & S Jim McClure Nationals presented by Drag Specialties contact 336-924-2095 or visit www.ahdra.com.

Hey guys, long time no speak, sorry about that. My bike is being modified with some custom paint and such, been a slow process. I wanted to mention that a friend of mine asked me if I or anyone I know is interested in an 05 XB12R with 3914 miles on it. It is blue, no damage, he wants $6000. for it. I wish I hadnt started modifying mine, I'd love a second one. Any how, wanted to put on here, he's in Frederick MD. Hope to get into one of these Fred brag mtg's soon..
