For next summer i wonder how early we would have to make res to stay in K town. Also, Theresa and I are planning to go to Inuvik NWT next June on a pair of KLR's. John The Blackcomb Lodge in Whistler has always been a favorite amongst the Border Raid crowd. I haven’t checked availability or prices but suffice it to say Whistler should be easy to get into. Blackcomb Lodge and Spa Reservations: 1-888-403-4727 Direct: 604-932-4155 4220 Gate Way Drive Whistler, BC May I suggest the we depart Whistler Saturday morning at 9:30AM. This would allow anyone that can’t stay in Whistler on Friday night a chance to leave Vancouver and arrive in Whistler before the crowd gets away. OK now, I actually have a plan!  I'm gonna wing it for lodging at Whistler, figure there will be plenty of vacancies. I have reservations for Sat and Sun at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. I'll play Mon night by ear... I'm thinking about staying an extra night and coming back on Tue to avoid the massive traffic returning on Mon. I'm in! And looking forward to introducing the new gal (Jaci) to the gang. We'll be bunking in Whistler on Friday rather than doing the early Saturday burn from Vancouver, in order to cut the mileage for Saturday's ride. Neither of us has gotten the time in for Iron Butt training. However, funding is a little tight so if anyone was needing a roomie, we'd be open for sharing (and promise to behave at night.)(At least as much as I ever do.) | ||

Just got my rooms booked. The Blackcomb Lodge is telling me that they only accept three day bookings on the long weekend. So I've booked at the Whistler Village Inns and Suites. $109 including continental breakfast. I booked through the 1-888 number that Jim gave above. (That's reservation central for all Whistler hotels.) I'm in at the Coast Penticton. They've released the rooms we were holding so if anyone hasn't booked yet you should get on it. Don That bridge will make all the difference in how strong your shoulder will feel in the years to come. It's just a shame that they didn't do it sooner. The healing would have been much quicker. I'll be looking for everyone at Citta's, unless I hear otherwise. I'm likely going to ride the Hope to Whistler route via the Duffy Lake to get there on Friday, as I'll be spending a few days later this week lakeside at Hope (no internet, so arrangements may have to be done on the mountain). I've got my reservations at the Coast Hotel in Whistler (booked it for $89 through an affiliation), and might be persuaded to share if someone is interested. | ||
