Nuts,
Sounds to me like you already made up your mind on the next set. A barely broken-in set of Corsas for a smokin' deal!

Fellas',
Looks like we have a boob man in our ranks. Jim, I am partial to a buxom lass myself but don't think I can sell Nuts on the idea of getting it done .

Charlie,
Aren't we supposed to spend half our adult lives getting the tats and then the other half getting them lasered off HEHEHEHE!! I hear they are just as painful to have removed as they are to get. A vicious cycle of pain indeed! I had one "gang" tattoo from my younger days and got tired of it. Instead of paying to have it removed I cut it off with a razor blade. Left a little scar and shadow but better than being branded with it until I buy the farm.

Tank,
I know your kind mister. You are trying to trick us into thinking you will behave and then BAM all we see is taillight around every other corner .

But really, I aint all that. I watched the Supersport race on Sunday, and I can't figure out how they don't crash in almost every turn.

Nuts,
Your talking about almost losing your front end. I don't know if this was the case, but when it gets this hot alot of these back roads get little pools of asphalt that look solid until you hit one.Under the surface there liquid and your losing it. Seen any signs of tar on your bike lately? Just something to keep in the back of your mind when your bustin a&& into a turn with no escape exit.Ah but what a rush..........Charlie

Charlie, No black tar on the bike or the road. I especially remember the warning you gave me when we went riding the backroads up in Troutville. I see that slick lookin stuff and dial it right down. I described the "slip" as a second act of turn in. As you begin to lean the bike into a corner it falls into the turn, the bike should not have any other major "fall ins" as you complete the corner. I was leaned over at about 55 mph and I guess the off camber corner caused the "slip." I have since lowered the pressures to 30f/32r. Until I get the Corsa's I'm gonna take it easy. I was riding the inside lane of Bent Mtn due to a fluid spill in the outside lane. No other traffic on the road to speak of; hey that's why I ride that road at 10am on a weekday. NUTS

Nuts,
A little reality that things can happen when you lest expect it. Two guys were working on a dirt track in Orangeburg SC acouple of days ago, grading and enlarging some of the corners(experienced riders/racers) when they decided to test out their grading accomplishments. One of the dueo crashed, broke his shoulder, one leg and three ribs. Was knocked unconcious. Luckily the fairgrounds are in the city and the rescue people were there in minutes and last report he was concious and doing as well as expected. You never know whats around the bend............Charlie

Charlie, thank you for that reminder. Jackie alluded that my response of "yes Obewon" was a failed attempt at sass. I assure you I, in no way meant any disrespect. I admire your depth of motorcycle knowledge and am humbled by your riding prowess. One day I can only hope to be as smooth as Charlie.

Jackie, If you're ticked at me I guess I'm at a loss for words.

Tank, packing for the Dragon has begun. I'm assembling my "Oh Sheet" box now. Spare m/c parts, brokedown truck equip, I'm even gonna clean the windows! NUTS

I started a reply last eve "in the voice of yoda", but I thought it was just too cheesy. Likely just the beverage talking anyway.

Only one box? Half the junk I pack will be "just in case".(well, maybe not quite half)

I'll be starting the major clean-out of the Cherokee and the trailer this weekend. Seems the trailer almost became a storage facility, and I've had this huge red rubbermaid tub in the back of the Jeep for weeks.

Oh yes, yes indeed!

I have found a few "nice" roads in my searching. Like I said before, if I had known about these roads last year, I might still be there.

I think the "Devils Triangle"(from other thread) might be too far from where we are staying to justify the sore asses we'll have when we get back. It does look like one hell of a ride, though, and might just have to be done. Just searched it on mapquest and it would take us 2.5+hrs just to get there, and that's not including gas/food/bathroom stops.

I think there will plenty to keep us occupied within close(er) proximity to the hasienda.

I can't freakin' wait!!

Well shoot.

I just found that one of the "nice" roads I have been looking at can get busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. Have to find a good time with less traffic to hooliganize that stretch.

Nuts,
I ain't ticked at all. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit with you and the wife last night. I was just being reserved so as not to offend her talking about "thick" girls and other things involving fluffies.
Don't want her thinking I am a pervert or something talking about Kat dripping liquor down her smooth, glistening, plump (but not fat) armpit.
Gotta run so I can get my cardio in and go buy some chick peas (I hear they are good for ya!).

Jim,
Sure you can't make the trip on the 10th? Sounds like you would fit right in with the insanity .
I likes them thick. I've been trying to explain it to Nuts but he just doesn't get it. Say you poke a fluffy in the stomach with your finger and it leaves a little dimple. That is thick. Now if your finger sinks in like biscuit dough then that is something else entirely. Just can't make him understand it. Thank goodness nobody hears the crap we discuss while waiting on Squirrels or Turkeys to show up.

Nuts and Tank,
Glad ya'll are taking emergency stuff! I will be bringing a bunch of crap as well but a bit more variety. Since they have mountain bike trails I am bringing the Cannondale. Also packing a pair of 30lb dumbells. May even bring ole' Eagle Eye Annie and a bait bucket since there is a lake nearby.

Hey Jackie,
I thought your "tree stand" had a wrap around porch with a grill? Is that Cox cable and a phone line swinging up there? I may have to re-think this hunting thing.
All this stuff you guys are taking to "The Dragon", are you going to ride or relocate?LOL
Oh yea and on the tree stand, I thought yours had a large tub under it,on the ground to catch the empty cans.........Charlie

Where are you all going on the 10th? I've got my kids that weekend, so it's really hard to get out. IF I can find something to do with my son, I might be able to ride up with my daughter IF I can convince M2nc to come along and bring his daughter as well. But thats a lot of IFs.

You already have two "cameras" implanted in your head. Cameras don't do the experience justice at all. You can watch video all day, but until YOU lean that beast over in the corner, and hope for the best, and there's the next corner already.....

I'm ready to chill at the Crossroads on Sat after ya'll leave just to check out the "sights".

Jim, Carlee and I will be riding in Kinston on 9/9 for the Salute ride and then ride to Shelton's for their open house.

Roanoke crowd, have fun on the Dragon. Jim, Mike (Rubberdown) and I were there two weeks ago. It is always a fun ride. We need to get together and ride in the area one day.

C3 will be in the Boone Area on October 6th thru the 8th. We have a cabin and looks like we have room for a few if anyone is interested. Check out the details

Thanks for the invite though. I'd love to meet you guys sometime.

How are yall getting to the Dragon? We just did this a couple of weeks ago, so I still remember the roads. As you might have guessed from the picture of my fluffie, I'm a fan of 421 through Shady Valley, which is practically on your way.

The website for the Deals Gap motorcycle resort has a webcam. It's the place they call "the Crossroads".

The link is on the right side of the page, can't miss it.

http://www.dealsgap.com/ (oh, BTW, it doesn't work at night)

We will be on this webcam, soon!

Jim, Carlos,
It is a pleasure having you guys visit us over here. Please feel free to join in as often as possible. After all we are neighbors (NC and VA).

Fellas,
It is about nigh onto us. The next several weeks will be a whirlwind. Squirrel season starts next Saturday so hunting all week until the following Saturday. Load up and hit the Dragon through Friday morning of that week and then head home. Turn around and leave Monday for a week at Myrtle Beach. Somewhere in there I have to work out receiving and setting up a large group of new tortoises if things proceed as hoped.
"Well, I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under such heavy sedation."
(Nuts, I beat you to the first quote from TIST).

A fine morning ride of 100 miles was enjoyed by NUTS. Solo mission as Jackie is a nightowl and Charlie left long ago. I was missing my friends on my nonstop loop through Christiansburg. I was passed by a lady who was apparently late for church on a two lane road. Speed limit 30mph, I was holding a steady 35mph when she appeared on my right side!!! That is NUTS.

Tank, The countdown has begun. Soon enough we'll be performing ridiculous antics in front of the Dragon webcam. I pulled into the driveway to find the Lightning showing 10,500 miles on the odometer. The Diablo Strada's have a very slight flat spot in the middle. To my calculations, that's 4100 miles since I put those on! I'm itchin to get the Corsa's on though.

Jackie, A fishin we will go today brother. Let's leave a bit early to find some new water. "We wear extremely tight trousers, We've got armadillo's down our pant legs." NUTS

Ah, yes. Preparations are well under way. The trailer is almost packed. Just a few small items to throw in at the last minute, roll the bike in and strap it down.(it could use a bath too, as well as the Jeep...and the bike. If it gets done, good. If not, oh well)

Jackie,
Sounds like you've got a nice plan going on. Good luck in doing your part to control the rodent population.
