Pics rule, I'm hoping to score a few memories.

Let's make sure they are good ones. They give away "Body Surfer" stickers at the Crossroads on special occasions. You do not want one, neither do I.

Tank,
That ain't greater Roanoke, that is ALL of Roanoke LOL!! Seriously though that is the downtown area in the one pic. The rest are from random stops on the BRP.
Here is the mandatory "I'm cool" pose. You know, I make yellow look GOOOOD !!

By the way Nuts,
Check out how them fine white rimes almost disappear and make the bike look like it is floating.
Shame those gawdy amber things you got stick out like a sore thumb (course I guess they kinda go with the boots CHA CHING!!)
By the way you will be happy to know I removed the tank bra. I just wasn't digging the fit. Shame too because my new airbox cover is already scratched all up (but I am holding together just fine).
Your pal,

Jackie, thanks for the pics, they remind me so much of home. It looks like you took the tripod and remote out; are you huntin for some action shots. On a lighter note..I think I might be jumping ship. Pops and I are gonna ride out to Lynchburg this afternoon and see what they'll give me in trade for the Lightning. I spoke to the salesman yesterday and he said they just got 10 bikes in. K1200r, r1200gs, and the new f800 parallel twin. Looks like I'll be getting an early B-day present! STUN

Looks like after showing Pop's your wilder side, he's gonna get you off that "Houligan" bike before you kill yourself. Way to go Nuts, 110 down rt221. Don't try that on that BMW or you will.
Jackie, nice shot of you and the bike,but...I don't remember you being that tall.LOL............Charlie

Nuts,
Thanks for the invitation.
I would say I envy you but after having my new bike for a little over a week and already having scratches I am glad I didn't go more expensive.
Hopefully the new ride will allow me to keep up a little better.

Charlie,
I wish I was as tall as the pic suggests but unfortunately it is an illusion. The combination of riding boots and having the camera on the ground propped up with a gravel give me the larger than life appearance LOL.

Alright, I've got to come clean. After being up for over 24 hours and a 5 mile hike up Dragons tooth yesterday, I found myself a little punchy and looking to stir up our reverie. So no BMW in my future, furthermore the "hooligan" lives! Just watch me when I'm tired, I have a tendency to let my delirium escape in "creative" ways. NUTS Yellow bikes.

You are not alone, my friend.
I am glad that the "hooligan" won the battle.

I have a confession.
Someone laughed at my stock pipe, so I am doing something about it. I have reserved a race ecm with DaveS, and will be placing the order this week. Now I have to procure the VDSTDWKRP stuff from Al to reset the tps. May be a couple weeks but I will have a loud, well performing beast at the Gap to make sure my manhood stays intact(thanks for the complex). It will be the one that connects to any Buell...

Tank
p.s. I think he's jealous of our yellow bikes because he may not "fit in".......

Tank,
Don't buy the software. I just bought it and a laptop to run it. You are welcome to save your cash and come on over for a TPS reset party (Nuts ain't invited so don't tell him.)

Well, in that case...

..I will bring the bike to the mountains prepped for a tps reset, but it will kill me not to have a "run in" period on this particular setup. Maybe I can be selfish and get the Direct Link stuff, which locks to the ecm, but I want to do it to a stock ecm, and not a race ecm. Guess it will cost me more money this way, but in a few months, I should get plenty-o-money for a factory race ecm. And I happen to have an extra stock ecm laying around, which means I can re-map one and have the original to fall back on. How this plan will work out is anybodys guess.

But, I will take you up on the offer to reset the tps, at the mountain.

Tank,
Man I just can't seem to entice you to come over to me and Nuts hometown for a spirited outing before the Dragon! Just think, if you came on the weekend we could reset the TPS and you would have plenty of time to enjoy it and get used to it before the trip.
Oh well, Nuts was even gonna buy you a triple cheeseburger and super duper great biggie fry from Wendys'.

Jackie,
Tank's got a Wendy's on every corner. You have to entice him with a trip down Rt.43 and a dbl. Cheeseburger and curly fry from "The North Star". That's something they don't have on his side of the state.............Charlie

The "North Star" is a prime riding location and not a bad burger either.

Charlie, we're going to try and do Rt.43 from Eagle Rock all the way into Bedford. I know we've taken that way before and it was quite enjoyable. NUTS

MMMM curly fries, now we're talkin!

As much as I would like to ride out and meet up, it's honestly not likely to happen.

Best case would be if I go toward Covington to help my pops out for a Sat., and swing down the long way home through your neck of the woods on Sun. But I will be driving the Jeep in order to carry a few tools.

Not sure when that will happen, but it will soon, I think.

GOODNESS GRACIOUS TANK!!
That is an outstanding photo. If I get one like that I am making a poster out of it to give to Nuts so he can hang it where that tiny turkey tail mount now hangs.
Here is one of Ole' Nuts from our little excursion today.

It seems kind of strange that when you(Jackie) took your pic. you put the camera on the ground and stood on a rock . But for Nuts pic., you climb a tree? What's he trying to do to you Nuts? A little "photo shop" work on Nut's hairdo, standing behind that yeller bike could ruin his whole Imagine.LOL...............Charlie

Nah Charlie that wasn't on purpose. See when I placed the camera on the ground for my photo I had too because Nuts went off and left me by myself .
Now with his picture I was able to frame it out and compose it to make all the subjects look the best they could. Well, all I can say is it worked on the yellow bike .
Seriously though, in honor of Nuts' upcoming BIG 30 Bday I am going to refrain from busting his chops for a few days. I shall behave until further notice.
Nuts,
Take comfort in the fact that my muffler I paid extra to have shipped did not come today. Looks like my finely detailed plan just shot right out the window.
By the way I went and bought a bunch of microfiber clothes last night as well as some of the new Turtle Wax Ice Detailing Spray. It works better than the Plexus. Worked so good in fact I may be forced to wipe my precious down after each ride.

I must give credit where it is due....

Killboy.com took most of the better pics that I posted. The ones with "Deals Gap" signs are some I took. I took a few more, but I haven't "shrunken" them down yet.

I vote you photoshop the black bike kawi green, or better yet...pink.

Nuts is turning the big 3-0! Happy birthday, whenever it is! (darn kids)

Microfiber, like Cool-max? I have a Cool-max t-shirt and that thing Rawks. Combine that with my mesh jacket and it's like riding with a/c, even in 90* heat.

Charlie,
I actually did fix his hair and make him more presentable in the first shot using Photoshop.
Here is the original. I think you can see why I decided to work my magic and clean him up a little. The fellow has gone down hill fast since you left!
He told me in the Spring that he was letting his hair grow but I never thought he would go through with it!

Honestly Tank I ain't good enough of a rider to push any tire to its' limit. They seem to be alright although the front doesn't seem to dive into corners as well as the Pilot Power did.
Nothing wrong with long hair. I used to have long hair myself although it was more of a whitefro because my hair was curly. Kinda looked like Dee Snider from Twisted Sister.

Where is my good friend Nuts hiding today?

He's hiding from the yellow bike ridin', long hair used ta bee, metrosexuals.

Tires...I have to say that my Scorpion syncs "turn in" better than the Diablo Corsas. The Syncs don't have anywhere near the positive feedback that the Corsas easily transmit when "under pressure". Not necessarily only at the limit, but all the way to the limit, which I have not found yet. I did not adjust my suspension at any time switching between street and track, or the tire change. If it aint broke...

Well, I am going to push my luck tomorrow.

I'm going to install the fine piece of pipe that I have here, and put my intake back to nearly stock, including the snorkel if I feel it necessary. Going with the theory that mods on the intake OR exaust(not both) may be ok with the stock ecm.

So far it has been exceptional with intake mods only, even under track conditions. I have no symptoms of a lean running machine like: decel popping, overly blue headers, fan running alot, etc...(although it did send out a deafening backfire once, after I stalled it twice trying to take off with the kickstand down)

...so I'm going for it. We'll see what happens.

Tank
