I think the beverage was in firm control of my actions when I posted the above. sorry bout' that.

...metrosexual..

Thats it, I'm painting my plastic......not.

Ya'll have seen the movie where the kid says "I see dead people", right?

Nuts view on this "yellow" topic reminds me of a guy who called a local radio show a while back. went something like this:

host: Good morning, thanks for calling, what can we do for ya.

caller: You gotta help me. I'm exausted, and I haven't slept for days.

host: Well, what seems to be the problem.

caller: I see gay people.....not that there's anything wrong with that....

I like to think that I'm comfortable enough in my manhood to ride a girls bike. Hell, I drive what some consider to be a girly car. I don't care, because it's dam fun to ride/drive.

...a few Benjamins usually does the trick

You can just give me the Bennys, and I wont start anything, I promise

I still wish you could get over here before our trip..

You may get that wish, my friend. I have been guilted by my newly acquired brother in law to go up to the mountain near Covington to "help out" my pops with the cabin, with which he has paid/skilled/random help with already. I have not been there to see the property yet.

So, I may decide to travel home on a Sunday by way of the Roanoke contingent just to size up ya'll crackers. I will keep you posted of further developments of this saga, and I will need an address(mapquest is my friend, and I have GPS on my cell, too. cool gadget)

A looong night Nuts. Thinking about all that could go wrong prevented any chance of sleep. Gonna leave in an hour to go turn in the application then come home and probably sleep until 6:00. If it goes through and they cut it today you can bet I will be getting up earlier.
One thing I think we overlooked. I believe the dude used the Syn3 fluid in the primary when the 06' calls for the Formula+. Doubt it will hurt anything but may make for a slippery ride home. Gonna change it for sure now if she ends up in my basement.
Tank,
Don't worry about Nuts calling us metrosexual. He is actually a closet trysexual. He'll try anything. Watermelons, canteloupes, muddy holes in the ground, ANYTHING BWAHAHAHAHA!!

Jackie,
Don't waste good oil, the syn3 IMO is better than the Sport trans+ Formula, it just cost to dam much. I use Mobil 1 in everything 15x50,just as good, half the price, buy it anywhere. Been using it since the cyclone was a baby...........Charlie

Charlie, I've been following your advice for 10 thousand miles now with the Mobil1. Recently I have heard argument regarding an additive that can eat away at copper over time. Now with my stator going bad it has got me wondering. I'll see how the Lightning feels with the factory stuff after Keith gets done bringing my monster back to life.

Hey did you hear the one about the guy at Deals Gap with a stock pipe? Huh huh stock pipe. Too funny. NUTS Tank

Charlie & Tank,
The new bike has LANDED!! Just bought it home this evening and she purred like a kitten. Hopefully she'll soon be barking like a dog with the addition of the race kit LOL!
Charlie,
You were correct as usual. The trans did fine with the Syn3 and was unbelievably smooth. Definitely a big improvement over my 03'. The valvetrain isn't as noisy either but I don't recall reading where they updated anything up there so don't know why it would be quieter. Other than that in all honesty I didn't notice any big differences but nice to have the updated belt and such.

Nuts,
I know you think I am full of crap but when they sit side by side the yellow looks taller. I can't figure it out but even Cindy said it was bigger than ole' Blue. Put the black windscreen on, switched mirrors and put on the swingarm slider. Won't be leaving the driveway again until the pucks and buckle guard get here. Hopefully we'll both be ready to roll when Pops gets here!!

Hey got any pics of your new ride? You don't have to be ashamed because it's yellow. Are you free to hit the range tomorrow evening. You said you'd be home around 6 or 7. Remember I'm here without my bike and a fishing buddy with more important obligations. If you are busy I'll probably just hit the Roanoke in the late afternoon and bag a couple citations. Congrats on the new ride and here's to you getting her road worthy before "the arrival." NUTS

I always can make time for a late afternoon range trip. I should be home by 6:00 or so which will give us 2 1/2 hours of shooting light. You wouldn't catch dick tomorrow in the Roanoke. So muddy it looks like hot chocolate.
No pics of the scoot yet. I need to devote a full day to cleaning her up and putting the stainless fasteners in before she is ready for pics.

Are you gonna go for an exotic pipe or stick w/the race kit? Personally I think you should keep it stock, that way Tank won't feel left out. But if you go for the Drummer I have a stock 12 exhaust you could use for trade. I'll ring you tomorrow afternoon so we can make plans for the range. NUTS

Jackie, Congrats on "new yeller".

Already making mods and such and only had her home for a couple hours. Spirit of a true Bueller, right there.

FYI, I spoke to Kevin a short while ago, and at the time he had plenty of stock "9" pipes on the shelf, but was seriously lacking in the stock "12" can department. I talked to him about sending my spare, beat-to-death, ebay special 9 pipe, and a 12 pipe if I could find one. He told me he would consider a pretty good discount.

But as luck of the unlucky collector of parts would have it, I ended up acquiring a mint, barely used 12 Drummer before I realized that the 12 and 9 pipes are slightly different internally.

I am leary about using it for fear of wicked dips in power delivery, and I don't have a race ecm either. I am patiently waiting for Al to release a D/L re-map for the drummer. I would be all over that, as long as the wallet permits.

Jackie, lets see some pics of that beautiful yellow American exotica.

Tank

p.s. anybody got an extra 03' race ecm?

Jackie,
Congrats. on the new bike.I'm sure you feel like a proud poppa. Don't forget to change your profile,I thought I might see a pic there, but not yet. If you get another pipe, youreally need to consider the "Drummer".IMO it performs and sounds so much better than the race can,I've had both. I should have let you try mine when we were riding together. The torgue is right were you ride and you don't have to shift as much because of it. Any way enjoy yor new ride( easy on the bling)
Nut's
What Mobil 1 are you using in the primary? I use 15x50 everywhere. I think the talk was reguarding a compound in the "gear oil", not the motor oil.....Charlie

I don't use the v-twin oil, just the Mobil 1 15x50, about 5bucks a qt. in everything. If you were using the gear oil then you may have a concern (??waranty??). Mums the word.............Charlie

Charlie, gear lube will not be spoken here any longer. I asked Seth about an extended warranty and he advised against it. Apparently I can only purchase 2 more years but have to pay for 5. In the end he said it'd probably be cheaper to put aside money for the unlikely repair. So I'll just keep changing the oil and riding it like it was intended. If I ever get it back that is. Jackie has got a new set of Dunlop 208's on his new 'Bolt and I can't really advise him against changing them. The 208's are a big improvement over the 207rr's but I think once his rear is toast he'll be into a set of Pirelli's like I ride. Like you (who are a much faster and more proficient rider than I will be) he'll be on Sport touring tires soon enough. I love the grip of the ultra sticky tires bit I end up eating a hole in the centers before too long. I'm hoping the TPS reset makes a change for the better. Imagine riding the bike and it isn't performing like it should. Honestly I bought this bike thinking it would wheelie in first gear just on the throttle. Now I know some say it will but I have yet to venture that far into the twist. It sure likes to wave at all the traffic when crossing the crown of certain intersections though! Peters Creek crossing Melrose heading to RVHD is my favorite. I also like rolling through Shaeffers Crossing or the tunnel by the airport. Ask Jackie about warpspeed through there.

Thank, that garage looks quite inviting. I only wish I were a better pool player. Now if there's a Ping Pong table there I'm leaving there with two bikes!!! NUTS

Tank, I just looked at the picture again and it looks like there IS a Ping Pong table there! WooooHoooo our own version of PINKS. I'll just use a house paddle and play left handed for the first few days and then when the time is right LOOKOUT! NUTS

Maybe there isn't a table at all and I'll have to spend my time riding the Dragon and enjoying good company. What a shame.

Nuts,
Don't even mention that tunnel until I get my racekit or aftermarket can!! Charlie we started going through that thing and the next thing I know Jason lights into it. Let me tell ya' man we shot through there like being shot out of a cannon. The sound combined with the lights they have in the tunnel was what I imagine traveling through a time warp would be like. It was a weird feeling but extremely fun!!
Day two and the reflectors have been removed. Tommorrow I place the order for pucks and the buckle guard. Hopefully with 2nd day delivery I will be able to ride it by Thursday. I took off the passenger peg brackets but put them back on. They somehow give me piece of mind that in the event of a lowside they might save the rear plastics.

No pool for me. I can bend down but can't get back up without help. I had to sell my table because of the back problems. Not to worry though I will school Nuts in ping pong and put an end to his reign of terror.

Tell Nuts I'll take him on in a game of pong, but instead of a house paddle he has to use one of those trophy size bass he's been bragging about.
What "buckle guard" are you talking about? The only one I have seen is the silver one w/logo. The two that I saw had about a years use and the logo was all but gone. Hope they have something better now....Charlie

Well as predicted the bike is not ready. I waited until after lunch to call only to find out they're still waiting on the stator to arrive. This is the kind of thing that drives me crazy. How can they not have a stator delivered in a weeks time? I dropped the bike off last Saturday, early afternoon. Parts department told me they place an order every day. GRRRRRRRRRR

Charlie,
The buckle guard is the one you are talking about. After hearing that the emblem wears off I may go with the carbon fiber one instead or the tank bra like I have on Ole' Blue. I just hate the idea of riding without anything protecting the front from scratches.

Nuts,
Ask them if they have a Sporster stator in stock. They used to be the same.
If you need to use the Blue Bolt' let me know as soon as you can. The wife switched insurance to the new one this morning so I would need to call them to get it set back up. On another note I have to call a gal tonight about the bike. She PM'd her number so I hope that means she is serious instead of the usual tire kicker.

Yeah buddy, her boyfriend is in Florida. I can't make any promises but we might be able to help with transport. As for the Lightning being fixed, I think it best I hold myself only to calling once a day. I'm afraid I'd start suggesting things that might be uncomfortable.
