Great pics there Jack!
I really wanted to go on the ride from Glendale to Willow Springs, but things just conspired against me late in the week. Looks like I'm going to be in Hollywood on Sunday to watch a friend buy a BMW K1200S. It is always more fun to watch someone else spend money.

I'll catch some of you up in SLO on thursday night before Laguna Seca, and the rest at the track on the weekend.

Hey all you detail freaks! Would you be interested in a hands-on detailing “How-To” class? Adam of Adam's Polishes in Torrance is hosting a LA area Detail Day at Adam’s Premium Car Care Products on July 15th.

This is primarily for the car guys but motorcyclists are big customers too. The only catch is to sign-up on the Corvette Forum and there's a target group size of 20 with a possible waiting list if more, but hey, it's free.

You can learn about the products he makes for polishing & waxing paint, cleaning a painted or bare metal engine, rejuvenating plastics and rubber, and polishing chrome or aluminum wheels. What's priceless is Adam's handing down tips and techniques learned the hard way from his experience in the detailing profession.

I did his Detail Day last year and got some trick stuff that makes it easy to keep my cars and Buells looking sharp.

Any riders in SD please drop me a line! Had my bike for about a month now and still only no 2 other guys who ride these wonderful machines!

Also I wanted to say thanks for having me! I love to see those pictures! Also I wanted to know how to become a BRAG member and if there are any clubs or get togethers! I would like to meet other people that can show me around the buell community! Everyone be safe out there! I have seen to many accidents in the past month I don't want to see another!

Brad,

Also (if you want to do the drive) - you'd be welcome to come to Willow Springs every 3rd Sunday to hang out in the pits with the racers. Free lunches on Sunday too to our BRAG buddies.

If anyone is planning on blasting through Ft. Hunter Leggett on the way up to Laguna Seca, then make sure you have your valid motorcycle license, registration, and proof of insurance with you. Otherwise the sentries will assume a terrorist attack is underway and you will not be allowed on the base.

Tom,
Is the plan to enter HL area from the 101 via Jolon Rd (to Mission Rd > Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd)?

I'm mapping out some route options, planning times and fuel stops.

Cheers

You are correct. The scenic way to Jolon Rd
is exit the 101 in Paso Robles and take
Naciemiento Lake Dr. -> Interlake Rd -> Jolon.

If anyone wants to party in SLO on Thursday night and wants to hook up with us, we are staying at:

Comfort Inn & Suites Lamplighter
1604 Monterey Street , San Luis Obispo
Phone: (805) 547-7777 Fax: (805) 547-7787

Reindog and Rhino,
Thanks for the headsup. Count me in. Reservation made. Windscreen and Bags ordered. (Thank you Al.) Still sorting out GPS mount and communication. I get the Friday/northern/HL part of the trip, what about the Thursday ride to SLO? Rhino? I am considering the 405 to the 10 to PCH, swing through the canyons back out to PCH up to the 33 to the 166 to Santa Maria and north on the 101 to SLO. But is there a better way? What about the trip back? Are you guys stopping anywhere?

Al,

Thanks again for putting me on that mailing list! I didn't know how much the cost was or anything! Also i called today and talked to your wife about those headers and she took real good care of me! I was wondering how long does it take to replace those bad boys! It looks pretty tuff. Any info on that would be great! I want those headers so bad i can taste them! Would be a good match to my D and D! Its easier to justify $169.00 to my wife rather than $375.00 (with core charge that is). Thanks again Al everyones been wonderful!

There has been a change of plans in the Reindog household and Laurie is going to miss Laguna Seca this year.

I have one 3-day pass which now needs a home. If you haven't got your ticket yet, contact me at treiner at gmail dot com. I will sell it for what I paid for it.

Next Sunday (July 9)is the Odd month Brag ride. It is on the second Sunday since the first Sunday was over the 4th weekend. The destination is Glendora Ridge Road, up near Mount Baldy. Ebear is putting together some info to send me, and in fact is pre-riding the route today. So stay tuned for a second post with meeting places and times and such.

I'll collect together folks from SD that want to go at Biggs Oceanside for a freeway blast up to the meeting place. I'll publish the meeting time there when I get the additional info from Ebear.

If you are going to Laguna Seca and were planning on camping in the SCAB spots, you should have already contacted Ebear. If you need to have any camping stuff carried to Laguna Seca in the Love Shack or my trailer, contact Ebear or me to make arrangements for carrying it.

For the Brag Ride next Weekend...July 9th

Scott Page and I rode this area today and boy, what a mistake!Because of the weekend and the fire danger the CHP's had closed off the Ridge and Mountain route.Roads to the gate seemed clean and Bueller Dave went up the other route to Baldy Village and said roads were good and the food was so-so.

I will call Friday to make sure gates will be reopened. However we will still meet and reroute to Angeles Crest if need be.(I'm betting everything will be open though.)

MEETING PLACE ....BERT'S MEGAMALL

From anywhere catch the 10 freeway to AZUSA BLVD.This is between the 57 and 605 freeways.Head North (towards the mountains) after about 2-3 miles you'll see Berts on your left....meet at front door.

TIME....9:30.......Kickstands up at 10:00am
PLACE....Berts MegaMall.....Azusa
BRING....Water and a camera
LUNCH...will be at the Baldy Lodge Restaurant in Baldy Village probably around 12:30 to 1:00.

See you there!!

Can you send me a pm with the info, and can you please include Bill's phone number, I left the paper I wrote it on at my brother's house and he can't seem to find it now. Thanks.

-just got off the phone with KD...a friend whom lives in Baldy Village. She says the Ridge Road (Glendora)is open but the Mountain Road isn't.Tried "Cycle Rider" in Montclair and they said it was open all the way from East Fork of San Gabriel , but Glendora Mountain was closed....YaHooo!!This should mean all we'll miss is the alternate route down....a great road but The Ridge road is the one that the street Lugers use cause its so empty....Plan is still the same....Meet at Berts , gas up at the Mobil , up East Fork of the San Gabriel River , right turn onto GRR...ride to Mt. Baldy , left in Baldy Village...up the hill past the switchbacks and we'll check out lunch at a different place this time.A lodge up towards the ski slopes....SEE YA ALL THERE!!!
