I think you'd be safe against me. I'm not that good at BattleTrax, I'll be working on it!

Dave:

Are Shark helmets legal in the US now?

Do they import that way cool Carbon Fiber helmet?

One of my BEST Buell stories evolved from a Carbon Fiber Shark while at Breakfast in Anaheim in 1997.

Yes they are DOT approved now, as well as Snell. I'll have to ask about the carbon fiber one.
We sold 8 helmets and one race suit last night. Had a great turnout, 26 riders!

Court, the jam nuts and shirt are on the way to you. Did you get your first shirt?

Dave, is the DOT/SNELL M2000 designation sufficient for trackday wear?

Well, we have our first track day of the year behind us now. What a great time. I was a little concerned if I'd be able to run as fast as last year. I had been riding a X1 and was very comfortable on it. I have switched to a XB9R Firebolt and figured I'd have to learn to ride all over again. I would've been thrilled to be able to run the same or close lap times on the Bolt for my first time out on it. Well last year my best lap time was a 1 minute 50.19 second lap. I was able to run a 1 minute 46.9 second with the Firebolt. My goal for the year was to take 5 seconds off my times, now that doesn't seem "lofty" enough so my new goal is to get into the 1.43s
My boss Doug is doing well also, he beat me twice during the day. Damm turn 7.
Craig did the race school so we didn't see him much all day.
I had my first "swap some paint" with another rider. Turned out I know the guy. It was Rob, he owns Lithium Motorsports and races CRA. We hit together pretty hard but it wasn't that big of a deal. One less thing to be scared of now!
I got to meet a bunch of the KC Mob guys that I hadn't met before.
Sam and Frank were in the novice group so I didn't get to ride with them. They had a ball too and I'm sure will be back for more.
In all there were 55 riders there.
If you haven't done a track day yet, DO IT!

Check out the posting for the Milwaukee Rally in the Milwaukee and SE Wisconsin thread. I a free opportunity to give Buell the recognition it needs in the motorcycle community.

Thanks,

Bill

Dave,

I'm going to make it on the 27th to the B-trx. Curious to best directions from Illinois. I can make it to Galena in about 1hr 30. Haven't done one since Peoria last year, didn't do the greatest though. Need to know what time trials start to get a couple laps in.

Thanks Ryan

Cool! From Galena just stay on Hwy 20 and keep going west. When you get to Waterloo look for the Hwy 63 exit. Get off, when you get to the bottom of the off ramp go straight across 63, that will take you right to the Greyhound park. You can see it from the bottom of the ramp. We start at 9am and go til 5pm. The "official"times will be run at about 1pm.
Team XMX shows will be at 10,12 and 3.

Call me on Monday if you have other questions.

Thanks Ryan

You're coming on Sunday, right? The shop will be closed on Sunday but if you "need" something I can get Doug to let you in.

Hey Court, Not too late for you to make plans to come out for the weekend. I could arrange a bike for you to ride. Interested?

Dyna,
You wanted one to ride the BattleTrax course on. I am offering Court one to ride, but not on the course. I just can't do that.

Are you coming out?

Court, Where are you coming from? I know the Galena area quite well. From Sterling I take the Elizabeth curve pike out of Mt. Carrol then Scales Mound to Stage Coach Trail and a couple others. Let me know I'd be interested. I will be flyin by me lonesome otherwise!

Thanks Ryan
