Jackie,
On the mirrors, they all fold to a degree. But if you need to fold them to store your bike, then your gonna have a problem keeping them tight. If space is a real issue you might better stick with the OEM.............Charlie

Man, I am getting too excited. I'll try to stay more calm until we know more details.

Think I might try a short ride today, myself. You know, a "shakedown run" on the rear end.

My shakedown runs of late have consisted of running errands. With this bum ankle I'm unable to wear my proper riding boots and I just cannot justify spirited rides without them. I need leathers too. I wish I could fit an off-the-rack suit around my scrawny 6'3" frame. Custom is the only way to go but the drawback is $$$$$. Although it would be pretty cool to have a suit I could still be using when my kids start riding bikes. Do I hear heirloom? As usual....NUTS

I hear ya on the odd size deal. I bought a Tourmaster Cortech 2-piece. Large jacket, small pants. I'm 5'6" with a large upper and short legs. The full zipper doesn't quite match perfectly, but it works for the deal I got, and I'm protected.

BTW, the "rear end" is all good, in case anyone really wanted to know that.

Jackie, I hate doing this but there appears to be several models that could be considered 16'. The model size we would need has INNER dimensions of 16'2" (including cabinet) and a width of 7'. If Tony has the model number or name that would take all the guesswork out of this. Suffice to say if the trailer can be confirmed to have the above INNER dimensions then it looks like the sale is a GO. Pace (the manufacturer) lists sizes including the hitch yoke which can account for another three feet of trailer length. According to their website their 16' trailer has inner box length of 14'3" and that would not be sufficient to load 4 bikes into. Although the trailer is in excellent shape it just wouldn't serve the purpose. Give me a ring when you know more. I hate to drag this out any longer as Tony is a friend of yours and I am not a big fan of making friends jump through hoops. NUTS

Nuts,
The new jacket is the bomb! Very flexible and comfy and with the zip out torso panels it provides mucho ventilation. VERY pleased with the purchase. Figured I paid too much at the local shop but with shipping it would have cost more from New Enough (go figure).
Now I just gotta find a pair of boots and pants. I'm a bit leary of ordering either online since I'd lose money if I ordered the wrong size. Perhaps I'll take a gamble on Ebay?

Tank,
How'd that rainy day go ?

Shame on you Tank. Now whatcha gonna do when you are stuck indoors when the weather turns bad? I guess you can break out the ole' Scrabble game and try to spell some 7 letter words LOL!!

Nuts,
I was sitting on the front porch today and looked over to my left and there sat Jeffrey the toad! Good to see an old friend and nice to know he made it through another Winter. He currently resides in the drain on the end of the house next to the field. I guess the other drain got to small for his liking.
Rode by Tonys' house today to check out the trailer again and let him look at the idea I have for blockoff plates. I let him ride the bike and he pulled a wheelie going from first to second not once but twice! I think if he could convince Kim to let him have one he would be a hardcore Buell fan. He said it has a more powerful takeoff and acceleration than his friends' GSXR. I guess the rev limiter works because he hit it two times during his run.

You my friend must be a Eunich! Just think how much bling you could have if you learned to show off the muffler like that. It might cause people to overlook that helmet of yours. Hey are we riding tomorrow? I am. Hey I've got some duct tape you can cover that helmet with!

Again thanks for all the help with the trailer fiasco. I'm thinking we'll have a cookout when my folks get into town. The girls can play with my sister and I can cook up some deliciously spicy vittles. "The jig is up, and gone!" NUTS

He didn't actually have the muffler waving in the air but did lift the front wheel about 2 feet each time. Since I tend to ride like a grandma I call that a wheelie .
I am planning on riding tomorrow but am stuck indoors until 4:00pm or after. If we make the ole' Bent Mountain/BRP or Bent Mountain/Christiansburg run it should still give us plenty o' time. Then again I am open to other routes other than those outlined above. All this is factoring in that you aren't too embarrassed to be seen with me and my helmet. Your helmet would fit in quite nicely at an LSD convention. Was that deer that ran out in front of us that time or was I having a flashback from staring at the back of your helmet too long?
Glad the trailer worked out. I surely didn't mind the many phone calls and making my childhood friend jump threw hoops for ya! Is there anything else you need. Maybe he can get it painted the color of your choice or polish each rivet so that they are nice and shiny .
A cookout sounds fun. "I got a great corkscrew" I can bring along. "Hip crowd".

I only had one.....thats plenty for me.

Going back to VIR for a trackday this weekend(7 letters). Taking a buddy with me, but he doesn't ride....hope he's not too bored. But he's good with the ladies, so he should be kicked out by noon.

Got a deal working on a Kawi ex500 with a cbr600f2 complete front swap, and an f2 wheel modded to fit the swingarm(7 letters). Rolling bike, with street and race parts included. Definite project bike, but the end Bang will be worth the minimum bucks.

Good luck with the project bike. I bet it will give you plenty of stuff to do this Winter.
Our local dealer is having an open house Saturday complete with Buell demos and a Buell stunt rider. Why don't you head on over? Afterwards we can hit some of the local twisty roads and get to know one another before we get crammed together on our Dragon trip.

Tank,
Have fun, be safe and keep her in an upright position .
You missed a good un' today! Me and Nuts headed out about 3:30pm and hit some of our favorite roads. Stopped by a shop in a not too distant town and scored me a pair of Alpinestar SMX3 boots which I am absolutely lovin'. Jason was gracious enough to carry my stinky hiking boots home in his tank bag (Nuts, the raccoon debt has been paid). We ended up riding a total of 134 miles but with the stopping to buy booots, get gas and look at the scenery it took us about 5 1/2 hours.
I'm not going to tell you and Charlie how the weather was perfect, the roads were clean and the scenery breathtaking. I'm not the type of person to rub it in!

Nuts,
Any chance of going shooting/herping tomorrow instead of fishing? My wifes' friend is still hitting me up to get her grandson a Box Turtle. Also if we go this route and you head to the Walmart by chance, grab me the bulk box of .40 ammo and I'll reimburse you when you get here. If you decide you would rather go fishing make sure to bring my stinky wading boots.
Do you remember Tony Rockyhara? Word around the campfire is Marcellus messed him up real good. Caught em' giving his wife a foot massage!

Nuts you are correct.
Brother fell fo' stories. You know those little glass greenhouses? He fell THROUGH that. Since then he has developed a speech impedement. Still I must say you don't be giving Marcellus Wallaces' new bride no foot massage.
That clay pigeon plinking was pretty fun with the .22lrs' today wasn't it? We need to get those little 2in ones I told you about at Walmart and set them at 150 yards for the .17's. Maybe even try a few at 200 yards with the 30/06's just to spice it up a bit. I know how much you like shooting that thing.

Are you trying to give Nut's a nervous tick(shooting clays with a 30-06) that's just evil. The boy's got no padding up there you know.
Well the racing didn't go well this weekend. He fell off in the first race and the bike broke(smoked a clutch) in the second race on the third lap will he was taking the lead. Thought we had got rid of the evil grimlones after the first race.
Hope you guy's have a great "Father's Day"(milk it) it's just one day a year.Wishing I was there............Charlie

Charlie,
Sorry to hear about the bike problems on the track. I am glad to hear that you all are safe though! You gotta make it back up here some time to show us the proper way to attack these twisty roads.

Jason,
I mapped it out. Five hours thirty four minutes. I also looked up truck and trailer rentals but couldn't find anything that was motorcycle specific. I like the idea of having the front wheel in a chock with tiedowns on both sides front and back. We may have to spend a weekend modifying my trailer. Take out the metal grate and replace with 3/4 wood, add side by side wheel chocks and bolt in some anchor points. It will take us several hours but may be our best option. I think I could then snag a cover rated for towing which will protect my bike from dings and weather.
Run your plan by me one more time as far as departure and return dates so I can try to get a definate from the wife.

Alright, here we go (again) The rental will be from Sunday Sept. 10 until Sunday Sept. 17. The incredible multiplying S.Florida contingent will be arriving sometime Sun. 9/10 in the afternoon. I figure it'll take a while on Sun to unload and get settled thus no ride that day. Then ride Mon, Tues, Wed. If you have to go we roll out; if not, we can stay as many additional days or half days as you wish. The southerners will probably be heading out of town on Sunday sometime early or late Saturday. I would like to get 3 days riding in. If all you can swing is 2 then that's what we'll do.

Tank, I'm trying to get a sure count of those little Gremlins. With our recent trailer fiasco it looks like they have struck upon a really big trailer that will have plenty of room for bikes numbering in double digits! It might be a sensible idea to find secure accomodations with this crew; especially seeing as how the Fast&Loose crew may only be there for half the week. NUTS

I'm sufferin' over here man. Pretty sure I threw one last night since it felt like napalm traveling through my urethra.
I'm putting some serious thought into the trip. When I first mentioned the idea of the Dragon I didn't realize so many others would be involved. With my limitations I am wondering if I should wait until it is just you and me. That way you can enjoy the time with your pops without anyone having to work around my schedule. I am certainly not going to ask anyone to hold off riding until the late afternoon hours which has me thinking. By the time I can head out everyone else will be heading in which kinda leaves me as the odd man out. When we ride, hunt, shoot or whatever we are able to work around my needs but to expect you or anyone else to do that in a group situation is unfair and unrealistic.
I just don't know. I'm already starting to stress over the logistics and that is bad since stress is yet another item that sets off my downward spiral into tachycardia and hypotension land.
Did you ever think you would be friends with somoene so fragile ?
