THIS IS FROM ERICKA GREEN, ADAM'S WIFE. (PREVIOUSLY FROM MAPLEWOOD) I WANT TO GET ADAM A PART FOR HIS BUELL FOR OUR 1ST ANNIVERSARY, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS EXACTLY OR WHERE TO LOOK. ALL I KNOW IS THAT IT IS THE UPGRADED SHIFTER!?1 THAT IS REALLY ALL HE SAID ABOUT IT AND HE SHOWED ME A PICTURE BUT NOW I CAN'T EVEN FIND THAT. WE ARE LIVING IN NORTH CAROLINA NOW AND THERE IS A DEALERSHIP HERE BUT THE GUY DIDN'T SEEM INTERESTED IN HELPING ME REALLY SO I JUST LEFT. I DID FIND SOMETHING CALLED A SHIFTER KIT AND IT SAYS THAT IT ELIMINATES THE WRAP AROUND SHIFT LINKAGE. DO YOU THINK THAT IS IT!? IF YOU COULD POST ON THE BADWEB OR EMAIL ME AT ADAMANDERICKA@MSN.COM THAT WOULD BE GREAT. THANK YOU!!

Ericka,
I dont remember the part number, but all you need to do is get one for a 2001 M2. Make sure you get all the parts. Lever, linkage etc. If I remember the cost was around $85 total. There also may have been an upgrade "kit" available with just one part number to order instead of ordering several part numbers. But what you end up with is a 2001 shifter instead of the 99 shifter. If the local Buell dealer cant help, call an out of town dealership. There are some banners on this site for some.
Good luck,
John

Way to go guys...DAve's better than a parts counter guy...

Ericka...You may have to "special order" one of these directly from Buell if you want it made of paper...

Happy Anniversary to you and Adam!

See Ya!

All...Jenn and Paul are both off at the same time (a rare occurrence for them) on Friday, April 18th, which is Good Friday and they would like to get some of the "old gang" together for a day long ride...Maybe we can introduce them to KK as I don't think either of them have ridden it...I will not post this on the HSTA site so we can keep the group, uh, intimate...

Neil, are you going to be in town that weekend?

DAve...I know, I know, but it would be great if you could make it...

What about you, Mariabelen and Josh?...Maybe I can get that "something" I have for Mariabelen to her then...

And anyone else who reads this post is welcome...

See Ya!

Hey Bob:

How'd ya know I was planning on STL that weekend. My schedule for the next 10 days is a little hectic:
Pack up my wordly goods and move into a new house by Sunday PM.
Sunday PM drive to STL.
Monday AM fly to Mexico (work)
Thursday return from Mexico, drive to EVV.
Thursday PM ride to Nashville for P.O.T.
Saturday come back to my new home and relax with the boxes ;+}
Now all I have to do is survive through the next 10 days and I'll be in STL by the 18th. (BTW I was in STL and Troy on Saturday)
Bob ya know Hopkinsville is my old stomping ground and not too far from EVV. Did you see any of the KY LEO's in their almost unmarked pursuit Mustangs. They are supposed to be there to pursue all the high speed traffic that frequents Hwy 41 between Henderson and Hopkinsville.

Time to Surf.

Neil...I didn't see any LEO's in KY both down and back...Only one in IL...Normally I encounter many more LEO's on 57 in IL than anywhere else...Doesn't surprise me that they're trying to slow down 41 around Fort Campbell, though...

Will be good to ride with you on the 18th...

See Ya!

Well Mariabelen will have 2 friends (her Maid of Honor Veronica and her sister Maria Belen) up from Quito at that time and has the day off anyway. I'm not sure if I have off but Mariabelen said something about wanting to go if there were enough passenger seats and helmets to go around...

Stopped by Gateway To The West today.
No Buell signs, parts, accessories or apparel. 4 new bikes on the floor (9S 9R Blast X1) one out front (9SLow).

X1 looked like someone had been doing burnouts on it.

Neil Jones (Buell Sales) told me the X1 was $12,500 and the XBs were $12,000. He said the price was where it was because they don't do "floorplan".

When pressed for "Slay the Dragon" he said I could have a shirt if I test rode a bike, wanted to buy one then and filled out a credit app.

He also said he was wanting to organize a BRAG group and seemed surprised to hear we had in informal/formal group and wanted to hear about future rides esp Sundays.

I walked over to the parts counter to order a pin for the front caliper of the S1 (see the Knowledge Vault, suffice to say that a SAE hex key will round out a mm hex head). Stood there for 5-10 minutes waiting (3 little desks, no parts people) got tired of employees walking past me and left.

Neil did like the RS (he'd never seen one before. I was surprised he'd heard of one.)

Kevyn, rode right by your place. I have a training class near BJC and my directions for Gateway took me right by you. I waved ;)

Josh...If I have the ST by the 18th, and I should, it should be comfy enough for one of the ladies and I have several extra helmets but have a feeling they're going to be too large...

Man, that's a sad tale re Gateway to the West and WHAT are they thinking regarding the pricing?...I guess they want to only sell bikes to someone who just got off the train...And can you imagine someone in Buell sales not knowing about this site and having seen our posts?...

Pumpkin needs new shoes so thinking that it might be time to renew my relationship with Bourbeuse Valley, the closest Buell dealer to me, I called them earlier this week to see about getting some D220's...I was told one of the set was on back order so I said BT020's or MEZ4's or 100X's and was told they could not have the tires until next week...

It's that train thing again...

See Ya!

Sadly, Gateway hd/buell is in their own $$trange world...I'm starting the Riders Edge class this evening so I'll post on impressions.

I've actually had several conversations regarding Buell, the riding situation locally and this web site...apparently to little avail.
The young females have a better grasp on things Buell...

Slay The Dragon II shots are being called by one of the Surdyke ladies...I'm guessing they'll still have shirts for the winter holidays.

ST? Hmmmm, ST....hmmmm.

Josh, next time honk and wheelie!! Or, just stop and say hello!

I've been unfair. There is actually a fairly healthy Surdyke Buell program--healthy for this city. Riders Edge videos are seriously Buell oriented but need some updating, most pictured are tubers with no mention of the XB line.

Hd is just plain overwhelming on many levels, especially this year. There are several young riders in the class and they are very curious about Buells, their history and futures. They don't seem to be overly attracted to the chrome glitz, want something a bit less bargish, less expensive to get into and they haven't been indoctronated into the HOG scene---yet. I mean, would you want to go riding with your parents and grandparents?

I don't want to hear about it Josh...

The Blast! seems to be bulletproof. 15MPH in second gear, it just chugs along. VEry nice in the corners, turns figure 8's easily even in the narrowed box. No weight, great rear brake, locks it up NOW.

Actually, a very nice HOG group. Sincere, really enjoy riding and have some distance trips planned.

On a 900SS? Ya, right uh huh. S2T, not lounge enough but just fine for space in the garage...

See Ya'll sometime I hope.

RaceTech says my forks on on their way home. Now If only I can get off my ass and finish the rest.

Kevyn, the springs that were in it tested at .95kg/s (is that what you said?) so they put in .85s for me (oh John...)

I know that code means something...

I don't think I'll be able to make it that Friday (some of us need to work) the girls won't make it unless 2 more seats open up.

Update on work:
Blast is dismantled for rocker box gasket leak

S1 is in the middle of fork upgrade, exhaust coating, rear set install, body swap, rear base gasket replacement and breather hose replacement

S3 has a slightly leaking shock and still has a dragging front brake

RS has leaking fork and needs a dyno run and maybe a carb cleaning plus breather hose replacement

S3 and RS are rideable no problem, S1 will be down until May (waiting on exhaust basically), Blast will be back this weekend.

Anyone know where I can get a ding removed from a header?

Where are you guys planning on riding on the 18th? It looks like a contingent of Harley riders from Quincy are trying to put together a ride down to Fast Eddies that same day. I know you guys are probably heading the opposite direction but was just wondering?

Josh,
If the ding is close enough to the end you might be able to knock it back out. Otherwise I doubt that it can be "pulled" straight. The header is just too thick and small in diameter for that. If the ding is more than a ding; that is it is hindering exhaust flow, then you could have it cut out and a piece welded back into it. If you need to do the latter, then call me. I know someone who can do it.
Dont let those 95's get away from you. I want them.
I received my new pistons, heads, cylinders, gaskets, etc. Now all I need is some time to reassemble.
