When I show up to the HOame bike show, how could I meet up with some of you guys. Also, what time should I show up? If nothing else, I guess I can just look for all the Buells...

If you can't find us around the Buells, not sure we are taking them, look for the guys riding around and stunting on the Honda 50's.

Or PM either Larry or I and we will give you are number so we can make sure you meet up with us.

Larry,

Here is the frame I was talking about. It is the Mutant Curves Chasis but it has been adapted to fit all of the XB Components. I would have no clue what I was doing but I'd like to give it a shot. The only thing that sucks is this frame costs some $$$.

yeah we wanna do something similar to that, but I really like the look of the streetfighters with the xb wheels and everything. If it's ALL custom/aftermarket, then it'll look like everybody else's custom bikes...

For all of you that are too lazy to look up how to get to the bike show, here's a map and directions...I don't want to name names (erik ewulls) but you know who you are...

I-70 West to I-435 North. Take State Ave. East exit. Follow to Fairgrounds entrance on left.

Larry,
I was most definatly not free last night, my wife had other plans for us. But it sounds like you all had a good time none the less. By the way I think I will have the POS back in one piece for the show. I will be there around 930 to check in and all that BS. See ya there.

Ew,
That looks like a great frame with some killer curves. Before you buy it you may want to have a seat on a streetfighter just to get a good feel, that and it is hard to ask questions and get support from SC as compared to KS. I know that having the shop that built the frame 15-20 mins away was real nice since I knew NOTHING about building a custom bike. When it comes to questions and help I know MCWORX took VERY good care of me and kept me from make a few mistakes. If you do either frame I will be more then happy to help with some construction and try to answer some questions from my very swallow pool of information.

Darryl,
I would follow larry's way to find the guys, or look for the biggest bunch of jerk offs you would never want to be seen with and I will be the bald one. I hope to meet you at the show.

Yeah I'm not real serious about it yet and this is just an example of what someone was doing with the frame. I read that you can use all of the Buell components (forks, wheels and all that good stuff). I would definitely want the XB wheels just to make sure some of the bike's roots shine through... A guy can dream though right!

I already have myself talked into it but the hardest sale of my life is still ahead of me (my wife). We'll see what happens...

Great ride last night by the way once we got on the interstates it was perfect out. I'll look for you guys on Sunday, now that I know where I'm going, THANKS LARRY!!

Later,
Erik

Larry,
great ride last night. a little recap of my evening.
4:45 left work headed home to shower.
6:20 met up with Erik W. at fuel.
7:15 Larry, Duff, and Tim show up.
8ish leave fuell for the road.
10ish arrive back at fuel for some drinks.
10:45 left Fuel to head home. took 119th East, going great, practicing stopies at the lights.
get to Nall nice little stopie, take off get about 100ft. ENGINE SHUTS OFF!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!! WILL NOT RESTART!! coasted into the parking lot of Patty O'Quigley's. found that the kill switch circuit fuse blown. try another one, start the bike 2min. later the fuse blows again. WTF!!!
so after trying to call the g/f about 20 times (no answer). called Erik W. luckily he was home and answers his phone and i proceed to beg him for a lift to my house to get my truck. he finally agreed after we compromised on a predetermined amount of beer for the trouble.
drank a few beers at bar while waiting for Erik to show.
11:30ish Erik shows up (GREAT GUY!!!!) go to my house get my truck and rescue my BROKEN ARS CITYX!
So i will be without my bike for at least a week. electrical shorts under warranty tend to take a while to find. GEEZ this SUXS ARS! Can't really complain 10500 miles first break down. i just kinda wished it would have happened next weekend that way i could have said 11000 miles and one year without a problem.
Took the bike to Gail's this morning to get it fixed and apperently the front forks were leaking when i arrived. so with the shifter shaft seal leaking (think they have to remove the primary cover to replace it). i don't have to worry about doing those two things that are part of the 10k service. COOL!!!!

thanks for the fun ride Larry and crew. always have a good time riding with ya'll.
just kidding about the begging Erik part. swell guy no hesitation at all to come to my rescue.

Just introducing myself to the group. I got
my CityX in November 2005. Loved it so much,
I found myself riding all winter long. It's
nice to see groups like this one. I haven't
seen very many Buells in K.C. I must be looking in the wrong spots.

Ride safe, Dave

SAM!

great talking to you yesterday!

Hey I found something in our area that appears to be right up your alley!

Fair organizers ready for this year's event
QHW 6/11/06

"We decided to try something new. It's just some good family entertainment," Obert said.

The Illinois Lawn Mower Racing Association will bring seven classes of mower racing to the fair as grandstand entertainment Tuesday, Aug. 1. The classes range from stock — just take the blades off and go — to F/X, which is a highly modified mower.

Speeds on the track range from 6 mph for the stockers to 40 mph for the F/X class. "

What do you think?

Keith

p.s. just pimping to get you, Marge and the little one over here. They can watch the babies and we have an excuse to drink some beer. "Ya, honey, Sam is racin this weekend and I have to help him setup the mower between races. THAT cooler, Oh, we just keep our tools in there so they are easier to carry"

;)

HA HA HA, Sam goin 40 MPH, I DOn't THINK SO!

Heck if he builds a lawnmower he will cause them to designate a NEW class just for his crazy hair raizing schem's.

They will have to bring TIm the Tool Man Taylor just to keep him in check with the Helicopter Engine rigg!!

A HUGE thank you to the Least Wanted for their great stunting at the HoAME Bike Show and Rally. And to Josh for his Controlled Insanity stunt show. You all were incredible. We had over 1,000 people come through the gates, over 150 bikes were entered in the bike show. The range and depth of the entries was phenomenal. Don't miss this great event in '07!

Paul - the forks are (not) leaking but according to certain people they are. according to owners manual front fork oil change at 10k miles. mentioned said service to dealer, low on funds, hookin a brother up! they don't know bout the little stoppies. ask Duff they are not impressive at all maybe a foot or two off the ground. got to get up the nerve before i do anything like Duff. if anything it would be the rear shock that gets blowed out from said useage.

Looks like the bolt is going to be off the street for a few weeks. When I left for lunch I noticed the first threads showing on my rear tire. I've got a bunch of BS going on right now, so a tire and mounting is not really in my budget for right now. Hopefully I can get a new one put on in a couple weeks.

Larry do you mind if I drop the bike off at your place tonight?

Hello from Tulsa!

Friday night I go out to explore the bike scene in my new town. The neighbor kid told me to go to the Shell Station at 44th and Memorial to find all the sport bikes. He was right...about 30 of them. Actually a nice group of riders and real friendly. All ages and walks of life too.

A few stunters with cages and 12 bars,
A few track day type of riders,
the Busa crowd (you know who I am talking about!),
old guys,
young guys,
This was the spot to be at if you had a sport bike.

Of course the Buell got a lot of looks since most had NEVER seen one in real life. One kid said he was going to the HD shop next week to look at them. He was in the market! Somebody else asked what web site to find them at. Apparentley thought they were THAT RARE. Well, down here they are pretty rare!

Memorial drive is like the main drag in Tulsa. Everybody cruises it and I tell you what, it was one of the MOST DANGEROUS roads I had ever been on. Way too many vehicles/high school kids/drunks, etc...

I was sitting at a stop light and heard some tire skreeching. Then it got louder and louder. Look in my mirror and a car is sliding right towards me! He stopped about 5 feet from my back tire. It was a punk ass kid who wasn't paying attention. I am going to be very careful when I go down there again.

If I can round up enough Buells, I would like to start a club in the near future.

Funny story...
I go into the grocery store to get some cash out of the ATM machine. It was real hot out an the fan was running on my bike. I come back out and the two old people I had parked next to were getting into their car. They were staring at the bike with the most bewildered looks. When I get back to the bike, they ask me if I had left it running! I explained and we chuckled about it. The old man thought that was the quietest motorcycle he had ever heard...until I really started it!

funny story Drake. good to hear from ya. glad things are goin good. sorry bout the lack of Buells down there. OH Yeah be careful when you get around 10k miles don't be to far from a truck. i'll post what the dealer finds out as soon as i know.

I'm going to have to free up some time so i can go down there. maybe freak out the local scene when two same model bikes show up.

Ride Safe!!

Drake it is good to know that you haven't been lured into some cult and donated all of your earthly belongings to said cult.

You should try to make it up here on the 28th, Dave and Kandie are going to be visiting.
