Steve...That's tough...Josh and I are in the IT biz and we've both had the experience of learning not to rely of "vapor ware"...that's software, etc promised by vendors and your need is now...But I think it's worth a call to some people...

Thanks I'll do so right now but probably won't be able to tell you about it...

DAMNIT BOb!!! I am sure the hell happy you are ok! I'd hate to have gone to the hospital to kick yer ass..... :) Next time trust your instincts. Some days are not the days to ride.

What a way to change motorcycles... I guess it forces your hand. BTW There's Yamaha in Collinsville IL me thinketh... A small place.

...what? Not considering a Jurassic Kitty?

Nah, that's not Peoria, it's Denver...

I'm telling you, that damn color is growing on me so maybe I did hit my head...Cool pic, great lighting...And the scooter, as I said, is growing on me...Of course having Brian wheelie his for about forever right in front of me has done nothing to change my mind...

Well, if I was going with a chain drive, adventure tourer it would be the DL1000...Moto of the year and that cost is unreal...John, my guru, and I have discussed this...

You know what they say about hind sight...I can't remember ever waking up and thinking that I should stay in bed and not ride before...Remember, I made our Buell ride the morning after my saddle sore and I was fine...Pumped ,even...

And I would have needed an ass kicking...Still can't believe how lucky I was...

See Ya!

Tripper...I bet it took me an hour to stop shaking...Took a good look at my 'Stich yesterday and there's green stains on the outside and brown ones inside...

Serious question...Someone has suggested that as well as replacing my "crash" helmet I needed to replace the armour in the 'Stich...Anyone ever heard of this?...

See Ya!

Bob,
Glad to hear that yu are okay. First I almost destroy your Buell and now your Beemer is destroyed. I think both bikes miss that beautiful Honda of mine that used to keep them company!! ;)

Bob, I didn't replace mine and they didn't mention it when the suit went back for repairs.

Dan...So how is that Honda doing?...Providing lots of juicy parts I bet...By the way, Shirl was a bit apprehensive as to your staying here but since has said it's okay for any of my "biker" friends...Then Sam and Frank reinforced her impression by being such good guys...Thanks for being such a great guest...So I let her know that in the "anonymous" book I had been listing us as a place to stay for the past two years...Shirl mentioned you just the other day and is hoping you're not posting the above from the sand box...Stay safe and know we're thinking of you and all the others...

Josh...That's what I thought...The foam that's inside helmets is like or may actually be styrofoam and once crushed does not recover...The foam in the 'Stich is more like mattress foam and does recover...It has to in order to flex as it does...Thanks for the affermation...

See Ya!

I've never heard mention or warning to replace it either Bob. Many of the pads/armour out there is made of that same foam material. I think age and sun is more detrimental to it.

...call Aerostich? I think they are up front people and would give you the no sh!t answer. I've always had 100% customer support with 'em.

Bob,
Luckily I am able to go home to my wife, dogs and bikes every night here in San Antonio. I am an instructor at the medical academy so they figure I am more valuable teaching 500 students a year than I am as an individual in Iraq.

The Honda is alone in a shed in El Paso,TX awaiting for me to one day come back and get it. I don't ride the other Honda so parts aren't needed at this time.

Helmet change yes, stitch padding no

Dan...I didn't know you were working in SA. I get down there once or twice a year. Maybe just to Austin now since a friend of mine retired from the AF.

Glad you are well, sorry to hear about your mishap! you know what they say....no pain - no gain...... so whatcha gonna gain? just your thumb, right? and it wasn't in your ass at the time? this story is getting more suspicious by the moment...

Picture of Bob in his "stich" and "Das Boat".
The "stitch" may be the last one standing. Note smoke in left hand on Bob and Das Boat is already history. It was German anyway.

The bike on the left is dead and the one on the right is in surgery. Note Das Boat was new here. It did not have a permanant plate yet.
