I got an engine that qualifies, of course it doesn't work (it just needs an engine replacement and it would be fine) but it qualifies.

Anywho, I'm getting these phone calls which I am assuming are about the club account, unfortunately I keep getting them at inopportune times* If anyone here wants to talk to me you can try my email as well, tgregory&hotmail-com
(for the non-savvy: if you use the @ sign and . for your email on pages like this there are little programs out there that
run all over the web and will pull your email out of the page and add it to their spam lists)

*for instance yesterday while I was at an orientation for BBBS the first time in a month and a half my phone had been turned off.

Hey, anyone looking to do an impromptu Kettle ride this weekend Steve and I are planning on going on Sunday. Havn't picked a time yet.

Let us know if you want to go and what time would be best.

This may be Matt's last time in the Kettle before going back home.

Thanks
Toni

They are having Carrie Wendt there from 1-3PM and Hooters Chicken Wings from 12-2PM. The shop is open from 10AM-5PM.

Anyone that wants to come or meet there, message or e-mail.

Thanks again

Hey Milwaukee Gang,

My first week of work went pretty well considering I worked 55 hours and had to go to Chicago for Thursday and Friday AND drove to Milwaukee and back to Madison Monday through Wednesday.

IT IS TOTALLY NUTS... not like I am even going to be able to make the Homecoming.

I think once things settle down I will love it.

Back to Chicago for work on a project there for the next 8 weeks... living at a hotel, but home Friday pm to Sunday pm. Oh well now I can start saving for my Road King.

I hope everyone got some riding in this weekend!

Me: I left Friday morning for MI. We decided to go through the UP since the weather was nice. Had a few issues along the way. My friends 98 S3 started acting up just outside of Sheboygan. Couldn't figure it out at first and went to get a truck (dad's friends house approx. 5 miles.) As I left, I told my Nate, riding partner, to fiddle with his kick stand switch just in case that was the problem.........PROBLEM SOLVED! A quick cut, twist and tape and we are back on the road.

Making good time across the UP we stopped for gas and Nate tells me to look at my rear tire. It seems I misjudged the remaining tread prior to departure. We are approximately 150 miles from our stopping point for the evening. No choice but to ride on. Our last gas stop for the day was in Gaylord MI where we got directions to the cabin we were staying at. Since I had a map pocket that I could read directions through I was the lucky one to lead the group. Pulling out of the gas station, I stand up on my pegs to stretch and SNAP! My right peg post shears off. I managed to keep the bike upright. Pulled off to the side, duct taped by brake to the frame and put the foot peg in my tank bag. Now I am riding on cords with no rear brake and my right foot on the passenger peg. We made to the cabin, out to dinner and back to issues.

Saturday's task was finding a dealership that had a rear tire in stock and would put it on while I waited. Classic Motors www.classich-d.com in Traverse City, MI fit that bill! They had a tire and woudl get me in about 12 p.m. Off to breakfast and the 40 mile ride to TC.

Once at the dealership, I inquired about the foot peg post. Saturday was my lucky day! They had one in stock. Overall my experience there was good. I wasn't thrilled about the 1.5 hour shop charge for mounting my tire, but it needed to get done. Glad I took the saddlebags off in the parking lot though! Near tire, new foot peg mount time to hit the road.

The rest of the trip was pretty normal. I maintain a 99% rule on not passing in no passing zones. I was a 100% this weekend since it saved me the possibility of being pulled over in excess of 90 mph in a 55, on three occasions!

Sunday we went to a hill climb in Middlebury, IN. My old college roommate was racing. He just applied for his AMA Pro License. He is pretty pumped. He took 2nd in the 501-749cc division on his 540cc Kawasaki. Not bad since he didn't clear the lights on his first run. It looks like he will be racing a Triumph as a pro, fully sponsored by another pro.

The ride home from IN was a little chilly. Cruising down I-80/90 at about 80 mph we were passed by a guy from Pennsylvania on a Uly. So we settled in behind him for the next 60 miles or so and parted ways after getting gas.

Over all 3 days, 1090 miles, and a few minor issues. We had a great time!

Based on a linked trip report where a group of them are riding cross country, should this new gang in town swarm you, just find a hill and hit the throttle to escape. ;)

Looks like a fun bunch with a good sense of humor.
(and, no, I am not shopping for a moped,
unless I happen to find one cheap at a rummage sale someplace)

Aaron, OUCH! I bet the footpeg incident had a high "pucker" factor, eh? : )

I'm glad nothing "serious" happened. And the important thing, ya had fun.

A few of us Brew City members took an impromptu ride thru the southern kettle yesterday. Led by Toni. Her being on the CityX, did EXCEPTIONALLY well. By the end of the summer, I wont be able to keep up with her on the S3 thru the twistie stuff. : )

Hal's has an orange S2 in their service area looking like it will be heading towards the showroom, didn't look like it would be there anytime soon though. The salesguy couldn't tell me anything about it and didn't seem to want to try and find anything out. Oh well, back to Thiensville and points north or west.

The foot peg incident was equated to Jim Carey almost crashing the scooter in Dumb & Dumber!

I didn't think it was that bad, but I couldn't really see what I looked like.

was that you I saw this past Tuesday morning around 8am heading northbound on Pilgrim somewhere between Capitol and Bluemound? That was me heading southbound on the M2 that you ignored if it was. ;)

If the fellow that ignored you was on a bike, the answer is "No."

FYI, I wave at everybody when on a bike. However, I haven't been on one in almost a month as I am back into golf.

Am having a lot of fun touring the State and playing the different courses. Not to mention it is real good for my businesses.

He was on a bike.
I need to get back out on the golf course.
Not sure why that would impede bike riding apart from carrying the clubs maybe.
Playing golf would either help my sideline business, or ensure I have the fairway to myself. : )
Of course if I played a skins game I'd probably make more money at golf than I'm currently making in the other venture, a very strange market right now.

Have you played Kettle Hills up in Richfield yet? I like their Ponds&Woods course better than the Valley one, and haven't tried their new 9 hole one.

www.golfwi.com is pretty good for finding course info around the state.

Mike...Kettle Hills is on the list of courses to play.

Clubs on a bike are no big deal. Just not my cuppa tea since you have to dress funny to get on a course around here. I prefer the Miata for golf days as they sit nicely in the passenger seat and I still get the open air feeling with the top down.

Am doing a lot of the Charity outings as Di and I donate gift certificates for prizes. Plus, I picked up a few clients that I promote on the course. So it's a write-off all the way around.

The Charity outings are one of the reasons I was teasing about the pink hats. The BCF is an excellent cause and provides lots of business. Especially since our business is Professional Skin Care and Makeup Artistry.

All the Charity, Church and Fraternal outings provide for excellent networking. That's the reason we do them. Getting to go golfing in the warmer months is just a fringe benefit. The inverse is in the Winter months, we get to do a lot of Black Tie events and they are just as much fun.

If you ever want to go poke a ball around, let me know. Weekdays are best for me as is the occasional Saturday in the early morning hours. Sunday's are reserved for cruisin' with Di on the Geezer Glide. LOL

Enjoy!

So who wants a Brew City Brag/Homecoming 2006 hat?
They'll come in pink, black or khaki. Not sure of what it's gonna cost yet.

Hey Steve I agree with ya on chasin a white ball around, was at the AutoBahn Country Club yesterday with the Buell dealer trackday. THAT is a real country club, we ate in the club owners area, they keep their cars/bikes in the same building so they can ride/drive out on the track. So for lunch just do, oh 20 laps or so right?
See ya next week!

I just wear regular clothes to play in, except for the shoes, and those are only slightly goofy. Actually it probably wouldn't matter what I'd wear since I spend a lot of my time off in the brush and trees looking for my balls.

uh, golf balls, yeah, golf balls, uh, back to goofy clothes.....

If I get a clear weekday afternoon or morning I'll ping you. Hawthorn Hills up northwest of Saukville is supposed to be nice to play as well. The Mee Quon public course is okay and convenient. The Germantown course on Mequon road is good for a quick nine even though they have three nine hole layouts there, but I've only played their western nine (whatever color course they call it, they label the 9's by color). Haven't played Hartford yet, nor Songbird, nor any of the other courses around here. But I'd better stop before someone starts throwing divots at me. Guess I'd better hit the driving range and see if I can keep the balls inside the side fences this year. : )
