Well...The tics were previously ordered at Third Twosday...Those who ordered will recognize it, I hope...The dinner thing was just decided today...If you're going but have your own tics you're welcome to join us for dinner or just partake of the moto parking provided by the SLPD...

Sorry for the confusion...

DAve...Don't tell Josh what he missed after lunch...

Hope to see you guys tonight...

Saturday Update...Prestige Motor Sports, formally BMW Motorad, is having a grand opening to meet the new owners this coming Saturday...Demo ride the BMW's (K1200GT!) and Aprilia's (Tuono!)...

Kevin Haney said that he may have access to a few more SuperCross tics Friday and Saturday...Call Kevin at Widman to get on his list...

Also, the plan for Saturday is to meet at Widman at 1600 to leave
about 1700 for a short ride to Hodak's for the best fried chicken in
the STL area...Of course they also offer other items on their
menu...Hodak's has plenty of guarded parking on two lots and we
shouldn't have trouble being seated at that time of day...Then on to
the Eddy Dome where Sgt Ron Kline, SLPD, will have parking for us on
the north side of the dome complete with our very own guardian angel
to watch over the scooters...

Widman is located at 3628 S Broadway...To get there go east on I-44,
south on I-55 and get off at the first exit and make a left, go to
Broadway and make a right...Widman will be on your left just a few
blocks south...314.771.7100...

If can't join us at Widman but would like to meet us at Hodak's, it
is located at 2100 Gravois, just east of Jefferson...314.776.7292...

See Ya!

Palm Tungsten T with Magellan GPS Companion (for M500).
StreetFinder (RandMcNally, came free with the GPS) send me a new update that works with Palm OS5, but it won't access the GPS. If they can't get that working (w/o me spending $$) I'll shell out the $50 for Mapopolis. (Plus $25 for its companion database of businesses incl gas stations)

With Mapopolis I can search for addresses, locations, or businesses from the Palm and have it generate directions on-the-fly, then follow along with my progress on the map. It also lists the address and ph# for the business.

If I had a Bluetooth compatible phone, we could surf badweb (and upload pics) from the road, or call the aformentioned business to make sure they're open ;)

In a few months Mapopolis will have an update out that (when the Palm is plugged into my ChatterBox) will do voice-prompting of the directions. At the same time, with the MP3 player on the Palm I can listed to tunes in the background.

Josh.. I have not forgotton you. I was out of town last week, my web space provider had a crash yesterday and so my email is temporarily crashed..

Don't buy Mapopolis until you get a package I want to send you. I think I worked out all the issues and have a pretty good solution for Palm / GPS connections.

Hopefully I can get it out by monday afternoon...

From the GD area...
I won't be riding Sunday BOb. I gotta lot of spring time shee-ite to get done around the house. If anything, I'll bust out on the Tiger for a few minutes around the flat lands in search of a curve. :) My daughter (11) really likes riding with back support the Tiger provides.

Listen to that little voice!!!

Late night Sat night...Didn't get home from the SuperX until 0030
and probably not to sleep until 0130...Sue (who is now my official
guardian angel, by the way) called about 0730 Sunday to let me know that the
1000 ride was leaving at 0900...I thanked her and laid back down
thinking "I'm really not too sure I WANT to do this"...Should have
listened...On U west and south of Potosi there is a certain left hand
corner at the crest of a small rise...U goes left, a secondary road
goes straight...I split the middle quite nicely, thank you....All the
trite crap now, here goes...It happened so quickly that I think I
just must not have been paying attention...I don't think I even tried
to decide to go straight or take the turn...When I realized what I
was into I couldn't decide which way to go and did the brake thing
and I don't think I even did that until I was almost off the
road...Didn't go down until I hit the winter spread on the road side
but then I do remember thinking that it was going to hurt...Immediate
result was a totaled Das Boat and a really sore right thumb...They
say never to ride faster than your angel can fly and Sue is a really
fast angel...Ask her about the target fixation experience of her
lifetime and how grateful I am that she overcame it and was there to
offer aid as I was climbing out of the ditch...I was going to try to
thank everyone by name for their assistance post event but I know
I'll forget someone important...You know who you are!!!...

Each time this has happened to me or others, and you all will
recognize this unique characteristic we have, it always amazes me
that after we know our friend is okay, our next great concern is the
scooter...I almost had to chuckle as the beemer is being loaded onto
the pickup bed of a very nice farm couple's truck and someone is
saying that two or three will have go stay in the bed for the short
ride to keep the bike upright...Naw, I said, lay it over...

Now, I think it's bed time for bozo...

R1150RT, or ST1300, or FJR1300 or, or???

See Ya!

Oh shit!

Heather and I are glad to hear that you are ok!

At least your riding companions ran to see if you were ok first. It has been my experience that they tend to gravitate towards the bike first. funny how that happens. :)

OWWW! Very glad to hear you are intact. Das Boat was a hulk anyway, the R1150RT is more your style!

There's cause for celebration, you tricked the Sausage Monster! Yaaaayyyy!!!

...what's that saying, if you're looking up and the bikes on fire, you know you crashed?

...Ummm, K1200GT? Standard with heated grips & seat, electronic cruise control, color matched common-keyed side boxes and aluminum rack designed to hold an optional soft trunk with a mere 110-115 HP at the rear wheel...

Kev...Yep the cruise is really attractive...The detractions are it's range about 170 miles and I'm used to 200 plus, 240+ with the RT...And then there's that small matter of Honda's 7 year UNLIMITED mileage warranty...I still need to look into the extended warranty on the GT and the FJR, though...Thanks for the help...This is going to be a fun group purchase...

P.S...Should have added...Does anyone want to join me in a ride to Niehaus Saturday?...

...and maybe I can't even name a dealer in the area ;)

Besides, I don't like extended warranties. I'm betting it will break, they're betting it won't. Why would I buy it if I thought it would break?

I might have thought harder about the Buell warranty - except that it excluded everything I was concerned about.

RS

or
GT

kind of bulbous, but nice (if you can get past the bottom-line).

Bob, so did you get any indication on how long to wait for Buell from Court?

Josh...The Honda warranty is pretty much head to tail except normal expendables and even last year, which was a low mileage year for me I still road 34,000 miles...This year, what with the IBR trip and all is sure to be back in the 40,000+ range...You can see how the warranty at $600 is not only a good deal but I'd be kinda stupid not to get it...Only Honda's wings and st's are covered by this warranty...
