Refreshing ....
Went to Dale's HD/Buell in Mt Vernon Saturday for a couple of Buell parts. I got Brian B and another friend to go (Buell S1W, Triumph Tiger, Honda).

Once at dale's we were warmly greeted. (That wind was a SOB!) A sales guy insisted we take out whatever bike we wanted. No reluctance what so ever and they wheeled a couple off the floor for us. So we all took turns riding a V-Rod, Lightning, and Firebolt. That V-Rod is shaaaaa-weet!!! I liked the Lightning over the Firebolt. Neither of the other two had anything overly negative to say about either bike.

We would like to remind you of this upcoming event.

SLAB/HSTA Third Sunday Ride

Date: Sunday, March 16, 2003
Time: 10:00AM CST

We leave from the Eureka QT which is located at I-44/109/W on the south side of I-44 at 1000...Please note the time change...If the weather is bad we will shorten the ride to a lunch location of your choice...But as of now, the National Weather Service is calling for partly cloudy with a high of 70...Second Saturday's ride this past weekend saw a high temp of 75 degrees...I hope you were able to take advantage...

See Ya!

Boy oh boy mo nat is sure doing a nice job of first washing the roads and then drying them...Sunday at Bixby is supposed to be 75+...

On the "Where are the Buell's" thread I hope everyone noticed that despite the best baiting from "powerranger" and his rather "personal" attacks no one took the bait...I was soooo proud of everyone else and have to think there's a bunch of really smart people who own Buells...

See Ya!

I didn't think I could attack anyone using the name "PowerRanger" while defending Buells. ;)

I do think I should have refered to SlAB's oft-promised- but- never- delivered "alternate bike ride" where I took my Sporty, Kevyn his Duc... and you your Buell :) ;)

My 'Ranger suit is freshly washed (and I should have rode today but it's still drying) will get some Scotchguard tonight and everything should be set for Sunday!

It was a wet ride this morning and the S1W got a bit dirty (Oh Shiet!) But it's fantastic out! I have to do PT this afternoon before I can ride.

Nah, Keith, you didn't jinx us as everyone knows that riding in Illinois doesn't count!...

Glad you were able to get out...I wasn't able to ride today as I had to go to a clients and somehow the 'Stich is not "Dress for Success" wear...Well, I guess that depends on how you define success...

How was the run, Dave?...

Josh...What do you do to seal the zips on your 'Stich and which Scotchguard did you use?...I tore one of the foam pieces last time removing it...Bad boy!...

See Ya!

Bob, I wash my 'Stitch once a year whether it needs it or not! Haven't torn the foam yet but it takes a while to do (I say as I try to put the left elbow back in).

All I've used so far is the Roadcrafter Waterwerks Kit (one can of HD Scotchgard, one tube of Seam Grip Seam Sealer) I did however go back over the seams with another tube of the Seam Sealer. I use 75% of a can of HD Scotchguard each time.
The extra goes on the tank bag, fairing bags, liners, etc.

Next time I might try the wash-in Nix stuff.

Hey Bob, do you have the route planed yet? Will we stick to it? Can I have it? I have a new toy to try out. ;)

Josh...Here it is but be careful as the lines are wrapping...I think the one I posted to the HSTA yahoo groups is easier to read although there is some wrapping there but not as extreme...The first wrapped line here is the start of the after lunch ride "R onto 32"...And we will keep to this, at least as far as lunch in Bixby...From there I can't promise what will happen...

Actually the preview looks like it didn't wrap...Just remember it's two columns...

Eureka QT to Bixby and on to KK

uhm

I'm glad I have this toy.

Which column are we following? Or do we read left to right? (meaning the column on the right is missing it's first entry)?

"Bixby Store 107 Bixby MO R onto N" which is which column?

Josh...Read down the first column to the stop at Bixby, then go back to the top of the right column...Lotus doesn't port too good, does it?...

Well the software I have doesn't handle non-direct routes too well. But it will keep me from getting lost and get me back home.
See ya tomorrow.

Josh...DO NOT use the route that I gave out yesterday for the part after Bixby...John and I spent about two hours LOST in the MTNF yesterday...We'd probably still be in there if not for having a GPS along and a couple of good 'ol boys in a pick-em-up that we finally came upon on a forest road...Instead take KK south off of 32, R/N on 72, L/W on A, R/N on 19...The rest is good...We did four or five water crossings and found a really neat lake called "Logger's Lake"...Hope to see you guys today...

See Ya!

Bob, had lots of fun on the ride, hope the 2nd stage was as good as the first.

My GPS managed to get us lost. Seems StreetFinder (from RandMcnally and boy does it suck) doesn't distinguish between peagravel roads and highways. It wanted to send us down some farmer's field lane about 15 miles. I'll see if I can get an image of the route.

Well I guess I'm back into motorcycle mode, both the RS and S1 are up in lifts for work. Hope to send the S1 forks to RaceTech and the exhaust to get coated white. I'm getting parts from Stortz to make my own frame brace... the RS needs a good once over, new breather lines and everything needs the oil changed.
sheesh

That's exactly what happened to John and I yesterday...Delorme shows this nice RED (as in paved) road alongside A and it's the road from hell...Boy, it was a nice day, wasn't it?...

DAve...That scoot seems to really suit you...It sure garnered a bunch of positives from the non-Buellers...

Mariabelen, I'll bring "THEM" twosday...

See Ya!

Yeah BOb lookin' at that S1W it's hard to beat and the performance is about all I need. My ass sure hates me for the 300+ miles even with a Corbin. ;)

I'm on the Tiger/green hornet/jurassic cat today since it's St Patrick's day.

I picked up nine tickets today from Kevin Haney and will bring them
to Third Twosday this evening...

Flyguy 2
Fireflea 6
Mother 1

Also, the plan for Saturday is to meet at Widman at 1600 to leave
about 1700 for a short ride to Hodak's for the best fried chicken in
the STL area...Of course they also offer other items on their
menu...Hodak's has plenty of guarded parking on two lots and we
shouldn't have trouble being seated at that time of day...Then on to
the Eddy Dome where Sgt Ron Kline, SLPD, will have parking for us on
the north side of the dome complete with our very own guardian angel
to watch over the scooters...

Widman is located at 3628 S Broadway...To get there go east on I-44,
south on I-55 and get off at the first exit and make a left, go to
Broadway and make a right...Widman will be on your left just a few
blocks south...314.771.7100...

If can't join us at Widman but would like to meet us at Dohak's, it
is located at 2100 Gravois, just east of Jefferson...314.776.7292...

See Ya!

Bob
