Well Carlos should be on the Uly this weekend. The Dunlop I ordered is on backorder until May 20th - canceled that order. So I called Back Road Triumph and they have the front and rear Pirelli tires IN STOCK that fit the Uly. So I'm off to Jacksonville in the AM for new tires. They will unload and reload the bike on the trailer for me and change out the tires while I wait! Can't beat it. They are really nice guys down there. |

Good to hear from you! Unfortunately I will not be able to make it, but I'm sure the rest of the folks will show you a good time. They've never failed me. Everyone that goes, be sure to take plenty of pictures.

I'm still planning on comeing. Changed the oil,primary oil put on a new rear tire and belt and battery today.where is every one meeting at 11:00?I've only been to MM one time about 10 years ago. |

XB9ser- just look for the group of Buells in the parking lot atop MM. As you enter the park, the road makes a 'Y', bear,bare(?) off to the right. My cell # is 910-639-5295, HM# 910-673-5499, call me Saturday morning. Maybe you could meet us earlier somewhere else.
Kristi-do what you feel comfortable doing, I won't argue either way!! With so many coming I might but some burgers also.
LARRY-is your son up to a trip in the car? Come on down if so. Might do some good to get around the kids and dogs. Maybe show up after we ride in, that way he doesn't feel bad or awkward. It'd be great to see ya come down. Ya'll can even use my bedroom.
Mike W. has graciously offered his house as run over sleeping space if it gets too crowded here, which I doubt, but hey. }Damn forgot to put the 'normal' button back on here, sorry for screaming, just trying to catch Larry before he forgot about the whole trip. |

Webe will be coming but we will get a bit later start on Saturday Morning. He has a breakfast planned that morning so I will leave the house at 8am, meet up with him, possibly a passenger, and maybe John in his Sporty. The three to six of us will leave Kinston at 8:30 and then I believe we can make it to Carthage by 11am. Jim N, if that is too late we can meet at Morrow Mtn. a bit later. Just let me know.

Jim, As far as for the tire, yes I was running about 70mph when I first noticed something was wrong. The bike began to push like a truck through curves. I had a semi flying behind me so I stayed in it until I had a good turn off. As I stopped I realized the back tire was completely flat. The wrecker saw me looking at the tires as I was getting off the road and pulled over. We pumped up the tires and could hear the air rushing back out. I have about a inch slit off to one side of the tire so I cut it on something through a curve. Other than not wanting to turn, the bike handle beautifully for a bike with a complete flat. The tire never broke the bead on the rim. I pumped the tire up twice and was able to get about five miles between fill ups. Finally I just did not want to push my luck anymore and knew where there was an old store where it would be easy to be picked up from. I was only about ten miles from the house. |

Ah, what are plans if you can't change them :-)
Lets delay things by an hour. I'll meet Carlos & Webe at the Carthage Hardees at 11:00, which should put us in Morrow Mtn right before noon. That will probably make my family happier anyway, as I would have to get them up earlier than they would like otherwise :-)
XB9ser - We are meeting at the summit. Drive into the entrance of the park, and stay on the main road until it forks. Take a right at the fork and drive until the road ends. There will be a lot of bikes up there. Look for the Buells.  I'm going to PM you my g/f's cell number. Give her a call when you get up there. From past experience, the odds of all of us getting someplace on time are slim, and you don't need to be worrying if you're in the right place. |

Well the Uly has new tires and Carlee has new riding pants and a rain suit. Now maybe we won't need it (hint to Mother Nature!!).

11am in Carthage still sounds good, but Carlee and I will be on our own. Webe and company will not be making it so I will leave the house at 8am, which should put me in Carthage between 10:30am to 11:00am. See you in the morning. |

I think I'm ready to go. It's been an interesting day in that regard. Sometime in April I called the dealer to make an appt for my 5k service. They told me to bring the bike in on May 9 (this past Tues). I've always done my service off season, so I was glad I hadn't waited an supprised they were that backed up.
I dropped it Monday night, and they told me it would be ready Thurs or Friday. I called yesterday and they told me it would probably be Saturday. :-( I explain that I need the bike on Saturday, and I'm comming to get it on Friday whether it's finished or not.
I call today. Bike won't be ready till Sat. OK, I need to pick it up. Problem is I don't have a ride. Well Larry, my sales guy offered me a ride when I dropped the bike off, so I call him. I explain the situation and he says he can take me to the dealership and to call him back in an hour. I call an hour later, my bike is going to be ready that afternoon. YEA LARRY. So I'll have clean oil on the ride tomorrow. |

We may have moved north but we still feel like part of the C3 family. Dave sports a C3 sticker on his helmet and I need to get with Kristi and get a C3 for the Jeep.
I wish we were there to go with you guys, we may not have children with 2 legs, but we still would have loved to go along.
Dave and I are settling in here, but it's raining and has for a couple of days. Looks like he won't be going to Bloomington for the stuff they got going on. Or he might. I have to work at my second job from noon to 8:30, so he may go anyway, even if it is raining and they won't get to ride.
Our new email address is: dusterberg@verizon.net - I know Dave and I both would love to hear from you guys once in awhile.
Plus we will always be watching or posting on the C3 page. You can't get rid of us that easy.
We also got verizon DSL and boy is it cool to see things load so fast. So we will really want to get those pictures now. Can't wait to see all the fun. Take lots of pictures everyone.

All is well here. The weather looks good for the ride today, tomorrow is iffy last time I looked. But Carlee is now better prepared for any weather they may encounter. I got some pictures of them before they left this AM. Carlos will have to post them, as I do not know how to resize them for BadWeb. Those textile pants make me feel better about her riding on the highway and for distance.
Do you want a 3" decal (like Dave's) for your Jeep? If so, I have them. I'll mail you one. If you want something bigger or different, let me know.
Miss you both - all is well on the old home front. I still walk through each week just in case. |

The first crack of thunder hit and I went out to get the dogs and just as I opened the door, I heard the Uly fan! What timing. Just as they rolled into the shop, the big drops started and 5 minutes later, the soaking drops were here. Nothing like cutting it close.
We've already downloaded the pictures. Carlos will have to resize them later. Looks like everyone had a good time. I'm glad the girls got along well. Sounds like this may be the first annual C3 Jr. Ride.
JimN - thanks for suggesting this event. I'm glad it worked out as well as it did. Maybe we'll have more kids attend next year.
JimR - THANKS for everything. Carlos said he felt right at home at your house. Carlee already pointed out each on of your puppies by name!
MikeW - Carlee loves your new bike!
Glenn & Michael (Mike?) - glad you both were able to meet up with the C3 group.

I'm still resizing between running Sabrina back and forth between Stage production's.
I had one great weekend. I am glad everyone felt at home! Most of all it was great to see the girls getting along so well.
Glenn, meeting you was great, can't wait to see some of those toys we talked about.
Mike S, always great when you come down, I'm gonna have to make it your way for the next ride!
Carlos/Carlee-We enjoyed having you down. Brina is already wanting to know when the next ride is!! Wish I could have heard the 'tires scrubbing'!
JimN/family-Glad the whole family made it down, Rebecca thanks for all that you did!sorry about my directions
Hope everyone enjoyed the roads that Mike and I have been talking about. Like I said, we only covered about 45% of them.
