Welp,
The 8 and unders pulled off the big upset and SKUNKED the 10 and unders! I feel like the proud poppa of 16 little girls who played their hearts out and really gave it there all. First real game is tomorrow and even if they lose I will be happy if they give me the same effort they did today.
Go get that .17 and we'll sight it in tomorrow evening along with mine. I would venture a guess that it shoots close to, if not as well as the Cooper provided you can hold her steady.
Buy plenty of ammo because the accuracy is addicting!!

Nuts,
The official word is a no go. The sun really took a toll on me and because of this I think it is going to be a long night. I didn't even go shooting because my BP and HR are going crazy.
Enough of my whining, enjoy your party (by the way thanks for the invite!!) and remember no running around naked after getting all liquored up.

Man you don't cut your poor, diseased ridden buddy any slack do you? I too will be glad when the season is over. Two games, two win and many of the parents are already expecting another miracle season. Puts a lot of pressure on my shoulders man!
Craigs Creek is da bomb!! It has Smallmouth, Largemouth, Redeye, Channel Cats, Bluegill and (best of all) Chain Pickerel. The only problem with it is limited access. The best fishing I ever had was as a young man trespassing in a freakin' honeyhole chock full of 2ft toothy Pickerel. Those days are gone however since I try my best to respect others' private property (or at least just hit the outskirts wink, wink ).
I don't wanna hear any whining about bailing since you are putting off the great outdoors for some dumb ole' party. No problem though, if I feel better I'll be up at the club tomorrow evening shooting 300 rounds of TNTs', sighting in my deer rifle and practicing with the .40 so I will be ready when my CCP arrives.
No rush for you however since you still haven't even taken your sorry butt down to the clerks office to get the ball rolling.
Never fear though, when we are being chased by the Rottweilers up at Back Creek I will shoot the one that is after you if I have any ammo left once I deal with mine. If not, tough titty brother .

Well I can see you're feeling better. It seems that skin of yours gets thicker by the day. I will be duly jealous of you this evening, while I'm stuck entertaining.
From what I saw Craig Creek is very accessible while also out of the way. I came upon a new hunt club off of 615 north of New Castle. The name has left my memory for now but I'll catch it next time by. There were two span type walking bridges over Craig Creek that looked quite interesting.
Will you be posting any plans for Monday? I've cleared my schedule in attempts to return to my buddy's good graces.

I'm still ailing brother. I know you think I make this stuff up but it is unfortunately true.
Hopefully Tuesday we can get some real Davey Crockett activities worked in.
Tell me about the fish at Craigs Creek. Did you actually see any or just likely spots? If you saw them were any of them Pickerel? I do love catching those freakin' things! Something about all them teeth. I am surprised you found public access to the area since it is largely bordered by private land.
So did you get lit? I remember the good ole' days of being able to get a buzz on but alas, that train has long since left the station.
Check out the new custom Damascus skinner. Picked it up in trade for the Nikon. You didn't seem real keen on putting that big ole' thing on your NEF so I had to unload it somehow since you wouldn't come off the Monarch. Got a RWS airgun in the basket as well. It will be nice to sit in the back yard and get some shooting practice in. That my friend is 127 folds of pure, handworked steel. Made by a Native American knifemaker named Mike Crow. Handle is made from an Elk he harvested himself. Jealous now ain't ya?

Well when you find yourself in a room with eight doctors you have the tendency to compensate for lack of education. I behaved myself quite respectfully though. Sorry to hear you are still ill. I did not see any fish from the road but I'm pretty sure there was access from the roadside.
That sure is a fine piece of work you have gotten for yourself there. I like the idea of bartering, there is some sort of "specialness" a cash deal cannot provide. Did you get my link for the Cooper LVT in MachII? $1000 shipped. I know you want a Jackson Squirrel though. Get rested and we'll be in the woods before long. NUTS

Gobble, gobble, he's up top on the old logging road. Gobble, gobble, he's down in the field. Gooble,Gobble, he's up top to the right. Gobble, Gobble, he's on the 400 meter range. After dragging me around that mountain all morning I will be budgeting in a hearing aid for you in the near future. As usual, it was all your fault. Scared I'll get a bigger bird than you and bruise that ego.
I knew we should have went fishin'. I never should have listened to you when you suggested we go hunting instead BWAHAHAHAHA!
Tomorrow is out. Threw the ole' back out at ball trying to show off my batting prowess. I can't tell you how demoralizing it is to get struck out by a 9 year old girl and then have to have them help you get up off the ground whilst writhing in agony. Got a game tomorrow night so I will be eating the muscle relaxers like candy in the hopes of being able to make the game.

Jason,
We pulled off the win again today. Going in to the final inning we were up 7-1. One of the parents told the kids this and they went out and goofed off and didn't pay attention. The other team scored 3 runs to make the final total 7-4. Still a win but makes me mad that they basically gave the other team the runs by not playing to the best of their abilities.
I guess its time to have the speech with the parents about not telling them what the score is until AFTER the game.
I forgot what your schedule is like can you refresh my memory? We are taking tomorrow off from practice so if you are available for some evening fishing lets give it a try.

Hey Roland Martin,
It looks like it is going to rain off and on tomorrow so I guess we will pass. I don't wanna get up there and have the skies open up on us again.
Did you say you are off on Sunday? If so I will put the trap out and we can go fishing again and then do some shooting. If your gonna get that H&R 17HMR then do it man so we can shoot them this weekend.
As a friend I still say wait until you can get what you really want like the Anschutz.
What did you think about the Blue Cats? I know a place off of 501 that has some big ones in it. Maybe this summer we will pull us an all night catfishing fiasco?

NICE!!
I would have stretched the tank to meet the seat and then added a bobbed Cyril Huze type rear fender molded into the frame. I also would have put forward controls on it instead of the more stock mounting position.
Regardless, that is a fine bit of work!!

First loss today for the 8 and unders. We played a team of mostly second and third year players and still hung with them until the final inning. Final score was a respectable 7-13. I was REALLY proud that they were able to hold them off for so long. Not bad for 2 second year players and 14 1st year players. They had the ideal amount of players (10) which allowed their big hitters to come up almost every inning. Unfortunately with my girls the big hitters only come up every third inning.
Looks like we are going to have to rearrange a bit tomorrow. My wife is going to some sort of Pampered Chef party at 3:00 so maybe we can go shooting around 6:00 instead of fishing. If you are up for it let me know and I'll call before I leave.

Jason,
Why don't you hold off on your decision until the end of the month? I am planning on making a trip back up to Dominion once dude pays the balance. Perhaps they will have something that will really tickle your fancy instead of talking yourself into something. Plus it will give you time to put more money into the new gun trust fund.
All I know is that with all the sign we have seen this Spring I would REALLY consider getting the stronger of the two .17s
More power with the added benefit of increased usable range. Can't go wrong with that my friend!

Here are two reasons to go with the .17HMR
Pull a dime out and look at it in your hand then notice that the groups can be covered by just half of it.

Nah man I went this evening.
I took the ATV and rode down to the old cemetary and followed the trail all the way to the end. You would not believe the potential that place has for deer! A cornfield runs right beside the last 100 yards of the trail!
No birds seen or heard so I spent most of the time riding and shooting the phenomenally accurate Cooper. I came home and stripped the Mossberg to get her ready for the complete makeover (by the way how is that Ithaca coming along BWAHAHAHA!)?
What are you doing hanging out over at Rimfire? You ain't no rimfire shooter. I've known you for a while now and doubt you have gone through two boxes of ammo in that timeframe. I went through 100 rounds of rimfire ammo tonight along with 17 rounds of good ole' 120gr 30/06 bullets. The deer rifle is close to being sighted in but still needs a bit of tweaking before it passes my stringent seal of approval test.
Go on your stupid solo fishing trip I don't care! I show you all the good places and techniques and then you just ditch me to go play with yourself or take your other buddies to my secret honeyholes. You blew your chances of getting caught trespassing with me on Craigs Creek. I'll just have to do it on my own.
Just remember Buster, I have a whole plethora of top secret locations that you haven't been made privy to yet. If you apologize, mow my lawn and wash my truck I just MIGHT show you one or two more places for you and your new buddies to go defile with your novice techniques (Oh gash I just broke crazy on you on a public forum!).
